I am all set to go to Bogota and set up my language school business / extra rooms for rent in my apartment.

I am going to Bogota on Oct. 9th to meet my friend and her realitor friend to look at three bedroom apartments for rent during that week.

I am looking for suggestions on good, fun parts of the city to find a nice three bedroom apt to steer her. I don't care if it's busy or noisey. I just want a really nice place close to bars and night life that is really safe.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If everything goes well then I will have a great little set up for people to visit Bogota!

I would recommend Galerias. It is very close to everything, noisy, but nice and relatively safe. There are also parts of Chapinero that are nice and reasonable but some of it is a little dicey. Hopefully you can see a place before you put your money down, this will tell you all you need to know, especially if you go at night!

Thanks! The accreditation school is at CALLE 118 NO. 25-52, SANTA BARBARA. So I am thinking somewhere close? I will be there for 5 days, hopefully it will be enough time to check out enough places.

You could just get an apartment real close. There are tons of clubs right on calle 118 from the autopista (where the Transmilenio stops) east. It will be more expensive and 'tranquil', but there's hardly a lack of nightlife, and from there you are only a short jaunt away from Usaquen where there are MORE clubs :P

please let me know what area you are looking into for an apartment. you should look around the zona rosa, or just north as it is safe for americans there. i would be interested in renting from you , as long as you had a wi fi internet, and had a fast high speed internet. also, are you looking for a apartment with a exterior pool, that might be difficult.

i posted another comment but deleted it because i think i have found a house in santa barbara. it is a nice 4 bedroom house with 4 bathrooms. i will be looking at it at the end of the month and will sign a lease if they allow it to be leased to my company. stay tuned!

Let me when you have found an apartment, I will be your first client. But the price has to be fair. Check the classifieds in the El Tiempo from bogota, you can find hundreds of apartments for 200.00 to 300.00 per month. Evrything is cheap here for apartments. Make sure you bargain with these people, because they mark everything up at least 50 percent. Bargain with these suckkers.

Hola,

I moved to Bogota a few months ago and so if anyone wants to grab a beer and check out the scene just let me know. I tried to make a trip last night to a few clubs (Extasis, Barbys, and some other). Of course the prices that they wanted were too high and the chicks that I saw weren't that hot. I know they are plenty of hot chicks I just don't know where they are hiding.
