Now I know many of you are reading this are like this mofo is lying but i am dead serious. I know women in the states w good 9 to 5s that wouldnt do that, so now i am little confused. Anyway after a couple of days and i am getting ready to leave and i give her like 5000 pesos. She looks a little suprised but takes it anyway. So now i am on the plane like "what the fuck just happenend? " I have asked some of my fellow mongers that i know but most are new to the DR scene and cant give me any insight. She usually emails me about 3 to 4 times a week and calls randomly she hasnt asked for anything so far and i have know this girl for about 7 mos (3 or 4 visits) but this last trip i was with her for about 5 days

Why should a normal girl ask for money?
Of course she can wait for some presents, but what she wants is just to live a love story. And a love story with an American or an European, that's something new, something more interesting for some latinas than to go out with latinos....And there is the hope, that he would one day marry her....

I went out with 3 girls from S.A., 2 from Peru and 1 from Brasil. None of them have asked me for money. And I didn't stay with them only a few days. In Peru I had 2 girlfriends at the same time during about 2 months and in Brasil 4 weeks....Furthermore I am still in contact with the 3 of them....

Of course we went out for lunch or I gave her some small presents before my departure, but no money for the time, that I spent with them....Why should I?

The way look at it she hasnt asked for anything yet, but if she does i probably would send her 100us or 150us just to see if she asks for it again that little bit of money will buy a piece of mind and know what you are dealing with "if walks like a duck and quacks like a duck its a duck". If she starts with that "mi Bambinos/madre sick BS" i will really be disappointed becase she had me question this thing.I would hope she would be more original and come up with at least something I could at least post and say "thats is some original shit". Also I havent really lost anythig all the times that i have come to the DR and she has cooked sucked and fucked me. I am coming out of it at about a $4-$10us a day and that is if ever send her anything. It is a no lose situation. I will enjoy the ride but i never close my eyes.

Keep a keen eye brotha! I mean, almost every girl I've tatooed in Sosua over my last 5 visits talks to me about her novia and how they are coming to see them and sending them money, yada yada yada. I always use that as an excuse to pay them less!

Anyhow, keep a keen eye...its hard to love these girls...especially from a place like Sosua...not to sound prejudiced, but its like loving a girl from a terma in Rio...can you turn a ho into a housewife...not my kind of endeavor. At first hint of asking for the paper...bounce. They want that love story sh*t, but at the end of the day, they want money...or 'security' which can be translated into long-term money.

Now if she worked in a supermarket, that's different!

I do not know if the buses stop at the airport. But the trip is around 5 hours.

Caribe bus has a restroom and a movie.

If you are lucky, you might bump into a girl in the bus and she might keep you busy. :)

Keep in mind, local flights within the DR are about $90 each way, in a prop plane. Kinda fun, and you get to skip the AWFUL bus rides.

Get a taxi from the airport to the Caribe Tours bus stop. Might cost about 200-300 pesos. I dont "think" they stop at the airport, but that would be nice if they did. You can always ask personnel at the airport. It is 5 hours and the ride will cost about 280 pesos one way.

Received several PM's about domestic flights in the DR
Most days, you can fly anywhere in the DR for about 80-100usd, there are several small airlines that fly twin engine prop planes. Flight times are 30 minutes to one hour. Baggage is a little restricted. If you are traveling alone, this makes more sense than taking a 5 hour, $120 cab by yourself from one end of the island to the other, e.g. from Sto Domingo to Puerto Plata or Sosua, but of course the bus is much cheaper. Depends on how you value your time and comfort. Note that the International airport in Sto Domingo is NOT the same as the domestic airport, about a $20 cab ride from one to the other, but the domestic a/p is actually closer to DT Sto Domingo, about an $8 cab ride from the Malecon area. Good info on domestic flights. Domestic flights are out of Herrera airport. They are not scheduled too regularly. . . .only a few flights per day etc. so while the flight may be only 3045 minutes if you need to wait 2 hours for the next flight. . .Caribe Tours doesn't look so bad!

I would like to take one of the Domestic Flights to Samana as that is harder to reach than POP etc. . . . .

heck I just checked their schedule and they don't even fly to POP. They only fly to Samana Portillo. Since Caribe Tours has buses leaving every hour for POP and costs less than 10 bucks. . . .
