While I'm on the topic of sharing, I've noticed over the years you can see for yourself the patterns are clear, but the same cretins that endorse the merits of a $20 PM service hide under the coat-tails of the so called privileged information system. Unfortunately, and usually, their reports (you know who you are) are of a bragging nature, light on shared detail and where their information of a contextual nature is shared, it's usually jealously guarded for personal gain, hardly in the spirit and dynamic of an open forum. The debate on PM'ing certainly won't go away, in my view it's used too conveniently as a device to talk privately without incriminating others I know. But I'll say this and I'm sure you'the agree with R&T Inspector it's not what you say but more on how you say it.
You can see evidence of this clearly, that over reliance of PMing is mostly about personal gain than it's about protecting the industry. PM will have a tendency to segregate, by this I mean factionalising the forum for a sector to work harder to contribute towards interesting and balanced content. The rest are having private conversations with a one-way hand out. WTF is good about that. Tell me?

i read in my local paper a new place advertising, so on friday i go to investigate.
upon arrival i see it looks all legit – bad sign – but i had gotten greek before at a very legit looking place, so never say never.
