If you want one good reason why it's all crap, how about this:

Humans have 10x more bacterial cells than human cells. Yes, you did read that right. DNA sequencing would show that you are just a dirty contaminated pool of bacteria, and to an alien, you are just a walking mass of bacteria supported on a rather rubbery frame. Your bleach may undoubtedly be very effective at killing bacteria, but how does it kill the baddies and not the goodies?

I just returned from a trip to Pattaya. Had every day my oil massage and my dick was always massaged too. I am amazed about what these hands can do. (There are loads of dive shops in Patts so take your pic. I do diving myself but don't go when I am in Patts since scuba diving boats usually leave at 9 in the morning which is too early for me after a night of partying, plus the diving of Patts is supposed to be poor since the water has bad visibility. Waters are calm though, so guess that it can be a good place to learn.

Be careful, there are loads of unserious dive operators in Thailand. Horror stories abound of faulty equipment and diving guides that know nothing about safety or how to put the assemble the diving equipment. It can't be much fun to be 60 feet under water (which is how deep you usually go on your second open water dive before you are certified) and then have your airflow abruptly stop and do a real emergency ascent to the surface.

Try to find one that is run by an ex-pat, and one that is sober, if that can actually be found in Pattaya... However, most scuba diving instructors are, IMHO, often a bit crazy. Make sure you meet the person that will be teaching you also before you pay. It might not be the owner.

Sign up for private classes rather than a group class since then you can have your lessons at a time that you chose, and you can learn quickly at your own pace rather than having to wait and learn at the pace of the slowest member in the group.

Also, get the book before you go so you can do the theory learning at home before your holiday. It's about 20 hours of reading and you can have more fun in Patts than reading about how a regulator functions or how to establish bouyancy.

Right, was kind of dumb of me to post that question here rather than just google it. Only thought of it as a eureka moment while perusing these posts. No actual thinking happened from the time I got the idea until I clicked Post Message. Only problem is it's damn expensive there to do Padi open water course in Pattaya. 14000 baht ($463!) compared to a little under 10,000 in Ko Tao.

OK carry on with your discussion of how drinking chlorine cures AIDS. ;)

Good points -- that was going to be my first question for any possible operator: do you have any boats that go out in the [i]afternoon[/i]? And you're right, dive staff are sketchy enough almost anywhere, I'm really asking for trouble in Pattaya.

Yes, I've never understood why Jackson is prohibiting links to the other sites. I respect his decison; this is his forum and it's a great forum, but it's actually decreasing traffic from this site and it also does sort of take away from providing additional info to Members, imo. Other sites I belong to don't block and show an increase in traffic because of it.

I'm not trying to stir up trouble here, but I just don't see a plausible reason why the blocking, etc. from where I sit. There must be a reason; I just don't see it.

[/QUOTE]Sure, it might be cheaper to take the course on Koh Tao, but by the time you factor in the time to get there, the cost to stay there, and the lack of willing beautiful women to rub your tired muscles at night, Pattaya at 14000b for a course does not sound too bad.

While the first part of the course is fairly pedestrian -- if you are serious about learning how to dive and earning the certification -- I'd be more concerned about the quality of the instruction and eventual diving locations than the price.

I got my NAUI certification in the Cook Islands back in 1990. The official motto of the Cook Island Divers was:
"No Ocean too Rough, No Muff too Tough."

I don't want to continue the topic particular on this thread but since it's already being discuss and attack I think it bares repeating that you not believe everything you read and I will add my two cents and more.

I like you read books like Natural cures not because I believe everything in them but I'm curious as to another point of view. Also like you I believe sometimes institutions hide things because they want to keep status quote in profits. But in this particular case do you really want to take a chance with your life? Going through these books natural cures for ailments like Cholestorol etc.... these are ailments that you can play around with and experiment and if they don't work there isn't much lost and you go back to modern medicine for treatment. But when it comes to STD and particularly Hiv/Aids there isn't any turning back! It's not like taking 2 tablespoon of Apple cider Vinager before bed to lower your blood sugar level?

If you had even a simple case of a Tract infection you would know that it can be nerve racking and scary? Can you imagine if you roll the dice and have been lucky so far with taking MMS, and believe this is the only reason you haven't come down with a STD or Aids. Personally it is because you just have been lucky or it's good genes? Whatever? but if you go bareback and come down with Hiv/Aids, what chapter are you going to turn to for the cure?

Right now it is World Hiv/Aids day or month? it has been reported just for countries like India,Thailand,Burma,Indonesia, in 2009 it was reported that there was 220,000 new cases in this region of the world alone with another 230,000 dying from this deadly which there is no cure! Don't take the chance that MMS, is going to help you? In my view it is interesting reading but going bareback and taking this narrow point of view is going to increase your risk. I suggest you come to Thailand and enjoy and not add to the number of infected people and practice safe sex and if taking MMS and thinking it is the reason it has protected you then you are mistaken!
