What kind of food?
I might go up there.
The place is owned by a European woman. They have fresh bread and butter, tossed salad, pasta salads, potato salads, a few different veggies, 2-3 types of potatoes, roast beef, roast pork, roast chicken, grilled fish (usually dorado), its a pretty complete layout. And a desert table with a great chocolate mousse, fresh fruit and a couple different cakes.
Took four guys there with me in June including two who live in Sosua and they loved it.
I was referring to the El Boheim situation however. Sure, one can make an argument of racism, but these are NOT girls that the men are walking around with, or shamed by. This is "privado", so the fact that they are red, yellow, black, or white really isn't a SOCIAL problem, it's a personal private preference.
Hi Bob. We aren't far from agreement, but I can't accept that Dominicans inside El Bohen are in any way "en privado". Firstly, any Dominican who can afford to drink there will be a "name", some known business man, politician or gang boss. And in the DR everybody knows everybody else's business within half hour of something happening. But more importantly, you will invariably see them there in small groups rather than singly or in pairs. They go in groups to show off in front of, or impress, business contacts, family members or members of their or rival syndicates. These are the very people they would not want to see them associating with a dark-skinned chica.
In this connection, I used to lambast the owner of a bar in the Haitian batey in Muņoz for charging the same 400 pesos salida as bars in town, despite the fact his was a tin-hut with a dirt floor and a metal drum to [CodeWord140] in for a toilet. But after a while I realised he was cashing in on exactly that market, Dominican guys who would sneak out there (sure in the knowledge none of their respectable friends would ever see them in that "no go" territory, as they would see it) to dance with or maybe fuck Haitian girls. Either because it was their sexual preference or maybe because it was "forbidden" and therefore more exciting.

Anybody there right now? How is the weather? Any good? On my weather forecast it says it's raining the next 7 days... I know I can't trust any weather forecast for the DR.. so I'm asking here...
@ Streetkings01
I'll arrive on Sep 3 for my 4th trip. Where are you staying?
I have always used weather.com and it is usually fairly close.
I have always used weather.com and it is usually fairly close.
Or night, it comes and goes, and lots of sunshine, weather is not an issue here in the DR. Well, sometimes there is a tropical pattern of several days, but it is rare. Carry an umbrella for the come and go morning, afternoon and evening showers. The weather is hardly a topic of discussion.

Thats my job.
Its like I previously stated. The same five guys keep this board going. Your seeing now what happens when they arent active. The newbies jump on initially for info but don't give back.
Last trip report that I remember was Coolie Highs. Without the newbies becoming proactive this board will decline. The Santo Domingo board has more interesting chatter at present.
Sure it could be that Sosua has cooled off.
I'm on the Medellin tip right now but Sosua will always be my first love.
