Thank you[/QUOTE]One of Ibis is nearby, 7 to 10 minutes walking distance. There are around few other hotels near that Ibis hotel as well, but Ibis seemed most clean and ok to stay.
There has been some report that someone was attacked / robbed around the walk if you stay around that area where Ibis and other hotels are, but personally I find these area rather safe. Nothing never happened to me around there and I have been walking to Artemis to station at very odd and dark time of the day all alone looking like tourist just coming back from Artemis.
However, I recommend to stay in Charlottenberg that is only one station away from Artemis (Westkreuz) and much better hotels for around same price and more varieties of restaurants.
From Tegel, it is like 20 minutes away by car. There is train and also shuttle bus to your nearest station of your hotel, but taxi is only like around 20 euro one way, so if you have luggage I would just take taxi.
Food at artemis is hmmm eatable, but do not expect restaurant quality, gym is old, not technogym level equipment, but it is good, it has all free weight, bench press etc.

I was at Artemis today for a one day visit. I arrived at opening time and, as usual, it was quiet. The lineup was not the best for most of my time there. I left at 6 pm. But I ended up having a nice time.

A bit dated, but the rooms are clean and quiet (although you can hear the S-Bahn from some), the showers are good, and breakfast is excellent. It is closer to Halensee, but still less than 10 minutes walk from Artemis. Just off Ku'damm, which is a nice, safe area with some reasonable restaurants and shops.
