Certainly when I buy things like strawberries they might last 2 days, whereas they last about a week or more in the USA and still look perfect. Also, the cows here may not be corn fed. I know when I go out to the campos I usually see cows grazing. IMO, the food here taste better, but doesn't last as long as in the USA. The issue for me is that most of the food here in restaurants is mostly bland so I wind up cooking myself. You also don't have as much junk food here and can get a lot of stuff more natural like fruit juices. Everything in the USA seems prepackaged from a factory unless you only shop at a health food store.

Barcelona, the reference point I used, is constantly ranked as one of the top 5 food places to eat in the world. Having a substantial collection of Michelin rated restaurants and originator of the entire Molecular Gastronomy movement. A foodie tourist visiting Medellin isn't coming for Crepes & Waffles or similar. They will be coming for Carmen, El Cielo, X. O. , Oci. Mde, La Chagra, Gabo. Mde, etc. Some of these, like El Cielo, have already earned their own Michelin stars in USA Cities where they have opened branches. It seems you don't think this is legitimate travel; but it is, and it drives a large portion of the worldwide tourism to major food destinations.

This is spot on. I only ever use taxis via the ride share apps so I can pay with a credit card and so I have an audit trail.

When it comes to adding data to your cell phone on your local SIM card, you can also go to the pharmacies to get data on your phone. I did not know this until my last trip. Now I have gone to two separate pharmacies and they both could do it. Gana also can do it along with probably other places. I will tell you my Gana story on this trip. I requested one week data on my cell phone and gave them 20 mil I got two mil and some change back. So I go back to my hotel room and look at the receipt and it is for 11 mil. So I thought about going back and requesting the proper change but at this point I can see the person saying I gave you the right change and you are mistaken. Now it is only seven mil or less than $2 so I'm not going to sweat about it. I recognize that it was my mistake by not looking at the receipt right away. I have limited Spanish so that is also a factor. Live and learn. 7 weeks data on Claro should be 11 mil or less than $3. Now I know. Jajaja.

This should be required learning for anyone who travels to Colombia for chicas. They do not love you, but you want them to act like they do.

Girls will tell you what you want to hear and say things that make them look more desirable or sympathetic. There are very few ways to check their stories but when guys spend more time with these girls, they start to believe them because they want to believe them. That this girl is different, that this girl really likes you, that this girl is worthy of being saved, that she feels differently about you and that she is really enjoying her time with you more so than with other guys or that you are the only one that she is seeing.

This is not to say that it could not be true. This is more to say that more likely than not it is not true or not completely true. But believing these stories makes the guy feel better about himself and it does stroke his ego. So there is some incentive to believe the girl.
