My long lost favorite was Paradise on calle 54 near the corner of carrera 41. Maybe that's the one you mean. They re-opened for something like two weeks toward the end of the pandemic before they shut down for good. That place was a reliable Centro gem. Another defunct star is Divini women. Two of the mamasan's daughters worked there (they both used to rotate between Aiffe and Amigas Sexxy before the started up Divini). It is still the only place I remember in Medellin that had buy 10 and get one free punch cards like an old school car wash. Five years later I'm still miffed I had to leave town before I could redeem my loyalty card and they were gone by the time I got back.

There have been slightly different versions of this same warning on the State Department travel advisory section for Colombia going all the way back to the 1990's. That doesn't make it untrue.

There are buildings with doormen in every barrio of Medellin. You would be in no way restricted to gringo neighborhoods if you were to adopt that policy. My opinion is it does enhance safety.

That restricts me to Laureles and useless Poblado. Medellin's drama for a dedicated monger is never ending.

I didn't watch the youtube video. I see no problems with the plan you worked out. You are likely aware of the additional tips of being vigilant about your drinks and food and securing and / or hiding your valuables.

You can extend at other casas. You don't pay up front anyway. The reasons the management asks how much time you want is so they can let other punters know how long they have to wait in case you are with a girl they came to see when they arrive. Of course it's first come first serve. New Life does it a bit differently because, as has been discussed today, they tend to have more girls in their lineup than the other places in Centro. When in doubt, just let the management know you may choose to extend.

Any thoughts for or against the Hashtag 98 hotel? Not sure if they allow ladies to visit for free or what they charge. Rooms look decent. I wouldn't mind finding a place that has a suite like setup (fridge, couch, etc.) for a decent price. Any recommendations?

If you bring them with you it's easy to get them changed to pesos and will save you money in most cases.
