East China - Shanghai

Thanks to Xikang Lu (#5636) and the follow-up by Irv Washington (#6430).

I decided to see what they were talking about and so headed to Yuyao Lu, west of Changde Lu. This small street is amazing with at least 6 massage places of various shapes and sizes. It reminded me of Amsterdam with all of the girls in the windows. Here, however, all of the girls wore similar black dresses / uniforms. I was in no rush so I wandered up and down a couple of times trying to make up my mind.

The place offering foot massages looked like it had recently been redone and you could see the girls easily. There were 3 girls: one was good looking but 2 were not. I was not sure whether I would be able to choose the good looking girl so I moved on.

The best looking girls were squashed together on a couch at a small place with a pink sign in the middle of the north side. I was very tempted to go in but was not sure what was available. Also I got the impression that none spoke English at any of these places.

Then I saw a really great looking girl coming out of the larger place with a large massage sign near the east end on the south side. I wondered if she would try to pick me up but she looked like she was going home. The place did not look too inviting from the outside.

So, being undecided I thought I'the check out the BBS on Xinfeng Lu. It had 3 girls sitting out front, but none of them looked great so I kept going to Shaanxi Bei Lu.

This massage place appealed to me right away. Also there was a menu out front in English. I decided on the prostate massage for 218 RMB and went in. The girl at the front desk spoke no English but I pointed at the menu and she took me upstairs to a nice room. It has a shower, a massage table and an armchair. It also had an old-fashioned bath tub which looked interesting. Everything was clean. She pointed me to the chair and I waited. Pretty soon a really attractive, short-haired, petite girl entered. She was wearing black tights and a long t-shirt with 'Annie' or something like that on the front. I was not sure whether she was the first in a line-up or not but I indicated that she would do just fine.

She left and I was not sure whether to take a shower or not so I just waited. She came back, asked if I wanted a massage and pointed at the shower. I asked if she spoke English and she said yes but when I asked her for her name she didn't understand. So we didn't talk much.

The massage was brilliant and included one of the best hand releases I've ever had. It was pretty clear that there would be no touching and so I didn't try. Actually, I didn't want to try. I wasn't offered any extras but I don't speak Mandarin or any other Chinese language.

Afterwards I took another shower, went down stairs, paid, left a tip for the massage girl at the front desk, and left feeling great. I'll repeat for sure.

In the QQ app you can translate from English to Chinese to chat with the girl. She will do vice versa and it works perfectly.

The last part is most tricky and you will fail most of the time. As they will only point you to an address without giving their room number (in case of hotel) or apartment number you'll end up in the cold.

One solution is to use QQ on your mobile and get final details through your phone. But roaming data charges are high so I did not do so.

So far I had one failure where the girl did not understand my questions for directions over the phone in English and I ended up in the hall of a giant appartment block.

Last weeks girl was smart enough to put the SMS questions in the QQ translator and text me the floor and room number back.

I'll be staying close to the Bund so it'll be taxi to the places I visit. I promise to write a report now that I am way more knowledgeable than I was back then.

Excuse me, brothers, but as a newbie to the site – and having just trawled in vain across the past few months' posts – I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if Yu Ping was still open, and still as good as it was said to be, back in the day? A friend (who hasn't been to Shanghai since 2011) recommended I try it. Any advice would be gratefully received.

I don't know how to get it to translate. Is it only for your PC or will it work over your iphone also? I am a member on QQi but am currently back in the US and won't be needing it until June when I get back to China. I hope by then I'll have it figured out! I do keep getting these "matches" on my PC and have tried to send a couple of emails but don't know if I am doing it correctly. I saw where someone on the forum had mentioned that they used QQ and wee able to filter the contacts in some way. I also assume that a contact who is interested in someone 18 to 80 is (maybe) a WG? Are there any other hints that can be picked up on? Anyone who wants to offer some advice would be greatly appreciated.

For their security they will usually only give the street address of their building complex, you have to call their mobile when you arrive at the gate to get details of building and room number. They tend to have very little patience at this stage. I've had several hang up when I asked them to confirm the room number, I think they're not very happy to have a foreign customer anyway, so any difficulty is enough reason for them to stop it. I've also found that different girls will work shifts on the same QQ number, so even if you were accepted on your QQ chat a few hours before, the actual girl "on duty" when you arrive may not agree to it. So you're out on the street in the cold again!

As I reported a few months ago I've not found the QQ experience to be as good as it sounds. I'm still looking for the gem who's worth going back to a second time. I've wasted so much time wandering round Putuo and Xuhui (where many of the apparently beautiful QQ girls seems to be based) , I'm now limiting my search to Huangpu and Pudong so it's a shorter taxi ride home when it doesn't work out!

No, YuPing is not the same as 999, but it is the same owners (as with Hongsong and I think Hailang, and the one out by Marriott Hongqiao).

I went to YuPing probably a month ago and it was still good, although I prefer the girls at hongsong. Yuping still has the best ear digging girls in my opinion.

Firstly most pictures are fake. Secondly service level is not consistent. Thirdly it's a lot of work because they are usually on first come first serve schedule. I had waited for over an hour. Fourthly not safe. Once I got into physical fight. Lastly price not much cheaper than full service sauna.

Yes, one has to be careful with their selection of talent from Manhattan, but with every visit there I was able to pull a GFE for LT fun. Last time I had a viet girl really eager to please. Had her for three nights.

These girls are more agressiv in "marketing" and they also will take as much as they can and than run back to the next customer. If you look for a professional service of a working girl, this is what you look for and what you get. Here it can be a good deal to take a sauna session instead. If you prefer a girlfriend experience, you will have nearly no chance in the sauna, but still in a pickup area. If you try to find a girlfriend experience, than you first should select the more shy girls, than next step treat them like your girlfriend, be kind and show your respect to them, than could be you will get a real girlfriend experience. I had some pickups in the past, never paid more than 1000, but also never even discussed about that. If you ask her in the first contact, than you are back to the working girl business, if she will ask for the money very soon, you got a too professional again. (ok, sometimes you will fail, but I had girlfriends already with even less girlfriend experience, so it is still just a lucky draw: sometimes you loose, sometimes you win). But in Manhattan you still have a good chance to win the most nights, if you play the right game!
