I have stayed clear of RdJ forever, and always preferred, So Paulo. And some of the smaller cities like BH, Curitiba, Fortaleza etc. Although I have some good times in Porto Alegre and Florianopolis as well, on very short 2 day trips!

It's been a bit over 2 years since I was in Brazil last. But plan to be there in Jan for a few weeks.

BTW, looking at some of your other posts, I do like O'Malleys and Love Story (after 1) and Bomboa. Plan to hit Cafe Foto this time. Usually stay in Centro downtown, only because I find it to be centrally located and love the craziness of the area! I also will probably spend part of my time in BH this time because I have had some good times there. Hope to also meet and get some numbers of local women through Brazil Cupido.

You don't have to be perfect but I find these people treat you different when you try to speak the language. They will often very politely correct you.
