In for a quick visit to HCMC. Stopped in front of the Caravelle and a very average girl approached me, quoting $50 for FS. I politely declined and moved on. These girls are looking for businessmen from the 5-star hotels.

Just got back from Saigon. Spent the better of 7 weeks there. Will be back again mid-June. What a country!!! Here are some scoops:

1) Apocalypse Now - like prior posts I want to reiterate that this place is not worth your time or money. Drinks are too expensive and the ratio of men to women most nights is 5:1. The "working" girls are mostly in the older range (27-35) and not worth the asking price.

2) Club Liquid on Hai Ba Trung - see number 1.

3) Corner bar (2nd level of the Saigon Tourist building in District 1) - Excellent music and overall good feel. Great place to bring your gf in for a few drinks. Not a place, however, to find "working" girls.

4) Bia oms (aka karaoke bars) - these are great places to pick up high quality girls albeit you must know which ones to go to or you WILL be ripped off. I highly recommend you take a TRUSTWORTHY and CLEVER interpreter with you if you are not well versed in the language. This will ensure you a good time. If you head down Nguyen Phi Khanh in District one you will find several bia oms located on that street. These bia oms tend to be friendlier than others I've ran across. General rule: tip the mamasan 100,000 dong, tip the girl you are sitting with 100,000 (200,000 if you like her to ensure possible future rendezvous), and never ask for sexual acts on your first visits. At these particular scenes, you will need to make at least a couple of visits before you can ask the girl to go out with you. The girls you hook up with here, if you are successful, are good not only for the current trip but for future trips back to the country.

5) Club Vivas in District one – decent weekend scene. Girls are average to above-average in quality. Average price is 1,000,000 dong for foreigners and 700,000-800,000 for viet kieu. Working girls at your bars and clubs tend to charge this price. It seems to be market value now. Just a word of caution, I’ve noticed many locals using ecstasy and other drugs at these clubs (particularly Vivas) so watch your drinks.

6) Club Que Huong – this club is located on the basement of Que Huong hotel on Hai Ba Trung. It’s just down the street from Liquid. Above-average working girls. The club’s mamasan will bring you a companion at your request. However, these are the priciest working girls I’ve ran across. My buddy’s companion requested 1,000,000 dong per session (1 session = 1 release) and mine asked for 2,000,000 for half a night’s work. We both quickly told both girls to go f*** themselves. This club also charges a ton for a drink.

7) Club 501 in District 6 – this is by-far the best club that I ran across. Excellent working girls for a reasonable price. The go-go dancers (19-22 yo) are a great looking bunch and more than willing to go with you. However, most of these girls will meet up with you during the afternoon the next day for a good time because most are too exhausted and drunk to go with you after work (they are required to work until midnight).

I have only played at Song Bey at the member price of $30, but I was told that the weekend walk-in price is a horriffic $150!I understand there are a few other courses near HCMC, but similarly expensive or distant. The course quality was reasonably high and caddies were included, but overall quality was so-so. I would stick to Thailand and Indonesia for my golf.

Was in HCM last week and since I was with business associates, could not get out to prowl. OTH, I came prepared and had previously gotten contacts for a provider from people I knew in Macau.
