I find it interesting that almost nobody ever mentions the places in Kelapa Gading. There are good knockshops similar to classic and travel there as well. Kings Cross, MTR2, etc.
Hi Bro,
Unfortunately not yet, but I am planning to be there sometimes around mid October or a bit later. I intend to do another south east asia tour. Will let you, and the other friends when I firm up my plans. Let me know if you have any travel plans around that time. Take care.
Cheers

Excellent summary, totally agree with your comments. Hope to catch up later this year. I also might be out around late October.
Planning to go there at the end of November. Really hope to see you guys, along with the MD, JAD, Ebowan, etc, etc

PanJay has MTR1. That place isn't what it used to be though. I haven't seen a hottie there in a while. Last time I went to MTR2 at Kelapa Gading though, it was pretty good.
Dude, sorry but if I may say so, you maybe got to relax and let it all happen. Maybe try being a bit more accepting yourself next time you're in Jakarta or anywhere else in South East Asia.
Maybe you want to elaborate on your experiences so that we might have an idea of what you went through as a precaution for coming visits.
I do appreciate that you and others love the city you live in, keep doing that, and I did post my original findings as reference for travelers like myself, not to tell you expats that I don't agree on your views. My point of view as a short time visitorand tourist is clear: Jakarta ranks VERY low. If you read travel literature and other travelers opinions in forums / blogs etc this can not come as a surprise to you guys. I did try to to be accepting and I have no discrimination towards Indonesia or other South East Asian destinations; I did enjoy Lombok, Gili Islands and some places in Bali. I love going to Thailand and I have enjoyed Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, The Philippines and South China.
My main problems with the Jakarta as a city was: traffic, pollution / lack of fresh air, very visible poverty, the lack of public transport, a rather unpleasing architecture / city planning and a feeling of not being 100% safe. Plus a lack of major attractions or nice neighborhoods for dining / shopping, everything seemed to be mall based.
I found the local people more unfriendly and less smiling than the rest of Indonesia and other Asian countries.
All the three nightclubs I frequented were in hotels with super high security / armed guards, I was told I need to take a taxi there, unsafe to travel any other way, this left me with a feeling of unease.
I just did some searched online for quality of life and it seems it's not only me who have this view of Jakarta:

I'm always a bit surprised when I meet people who fall in love with this city straight away, I thought it sucked for the first year that I lived here. The ones who do like it straight away are usually the ones who have friends who can show them a good time. And there are a handful of people who just seem to land on their feet. Hope you have a good time at your next destination.

And yes, in agreement also with Wild, you can't help but notice the negative side of Jakarta which is the extreme opposite of the levels of pleasure available in the city. That said, we're generally not there to look at the poverty, the quality of life of the locals and the architecture. In most cases I'm either there on work or on a dirty weekend off of it. I don't think you want to go to Jakarta for the scenery, because there's nothing really great to see compared to other tourist driven destinations in Indonesia.
If I'm in Jakarta, I'm out there to just have a great adventure in pursuit of great sex with arguably (if you're in the right places and lucky) some of the best looking women you'll find in Asia. I believe most of us are and heck, that's what all of you've been rambling about all along. The pollution, air quality and the traffic jams are just there as part of the adventure. So I can forgive the imperfections of Jakarta because the dirty adventure scene it offers is, if you could find some ratings and figures, for sure in the top 10 of the world.

I agree the pickings there are usually mediocre compared to SariAyu or Royal but for some reason it is the top place to be right now in Panjay. Could be a post-Lebaran thing, but who knows. I was with a sweet and petite 18 year old fair-skinned Bandung stunner few hours ago. It did take a full minute just to get the base of my dick in.
By the way, is your phone still working?

HK is more polluted than Jakarta.
Poverty. Yep, more apparent here.
Lack of transport. Yep, again except for Philippines, everywhere else has better.
Feeling not 100% safe. Wow, what an over-statement.
And you forgot the most important thing: pussy here is delicious.:)
Peace

I only passed through there for the day, no real time for pussy hunting there, I just had four or five hours to kill between landing and going off somewhere on a domestic flight. Spent most of the time wandering up and down the kampungs near Old Airport Road, it felt perfectly safe, just like Jakarta. All these Ibu doing their washing in the river, street stalls, kids going off to school, a few night clubs winding down, some of the heavily armed security guards called me over for a shot of moonshine. When I told a Fillipino friend about it later, he laughed, he said I'd been strolling through the most dangerous part of town with all my cash, belongings and papers, where even the locals are a bit nervous to set foot, even in day time. It's all a matter of perception, I guess. I always figure if you look nervous and uneasy, you draw the predators, just like a wounded fish draws sharks.

Talking about safety, virtually every joint on Roxas Blvd, the casinos, had counters up front with signs that read: "Deposit your firearms here." Now how safe would you feel knowing some of your fellow patrons do carry firearms? Would you know who's got a gun under their belt out in the street? I don't see that in Jakarta. Only thing is at some major hotels or malls, you do get to run through scanners prior to entry. These are mainly American owned establishments which are most likely to be targeted by extremists. In that sense Manila is rather more unsettling than Jakarta, as you never know who might be carrying your graveyard ticket.
Hi guys, lots of posts here re JTown negs, and agreed, JTown has a lot of negs, so as an 8 yr resident I often fall back on,"Well, please don't let us prevent you from enjoying life somewhere you feel more comfortable.".
Now, do you know that old Senayan stadium complex? If U-turn off gatot subroto just before the mpr buildings and the road goes around the stadium perimeter and there are a whole of bunch of flower and plant sellers. Some of the grls working in those stalls and shops are willing! Had one giving me the eye when shopping with the gf. A quick few words. Picked her up there in the evening, she jumps in the car and was off, mouth full of cock before I have got into top gear! She was a right rural, dark tanned root to boot, body all hot and hard from labouring with plants in the sun, a real toey muscly little goer. Gawd you could go those country gals for nights on end I reckon! Had a reprise a coupla weeks later and then she was just gone! Yeah, another Jtown neg, the mysterious disappearing sweeties. Haha what a bloody town!
Arrived in Jakarta last night around 11pm and had a quick look at Blok M Bars as I am staying walking distance from there. Absolutely dead but I knew they would be on a Sunday night so no loss there.
Today at 5pm went to Hotel Melawi in Blok M which used to be quite good for some afternoon fun. Well I can't really recommend it anymore. Pretty poor choice og girls and the price has now gone up to 500, 000 which is pretty crazy by Jakarta standards. Nothing there interested me and I thought the price was taking the [CodeWord140]. I actually used to quite like it there for an afternoon offload but certainly not anymore.
Tonight at 8pm I left my Blok M hotel and headed over to Hotel Classic. To my great surprise the roads were completely unclogged and it only took 20 minutes! Amazing! Hotel Classic is pretty cool actually and well worth a look. Nice place, nice rooms and lovely girls. Not super amazing but very very nice none the less and what a great deal at around 300, 000 all in.
I would highly recommend this place. Just google hotel classic jakarta for the directions and most taxi drivers know it.
I tipped 50, 000 there. Is that too much? She asked for 100, 000 but in my experience no matter what you tip and Indonesian girl they will always moan for more. What is the optimum time and day to visit there? I was there at 8pm on a Monday and it was certainly pretty busy and plenty of girls there.

Yea, in the Senayan perimeter, entering gatut subroto. Taxi drivers have pointed it out to me as we pass by, but I find that kinda sick.
