I am aware of a Subway in São Paulo (in Moema) ; in fact, the Moema Applebbe's was the first one in Brazil (in 2005) ; now there is even an Applebee's in the Shopping New York City Center in Barra the Tijuca, since 2007.

We could also mention:

1) Starbucks: Shopping Leblon, in Leblon; Barra de Tijuca in Shopping Downtown and in Botafogo (Shopping Rio Sul and Shopping Praia Botafogo).

2) Pizza Hut: one in Copacabana (Rua Francisco Otaviano) and two in Barra de Tijuca (Parque das Rosas and New York Barra Shopping)

3) Burger King (in Brazil since 2004) : (In Rio since 2006) Bangu Shopping; Barra Shopping; Shopping Via brasil, Shopping Downtown, Shopping Norte; Iguatemi Shopping and there's also a location on Rua São José, still in Rio.

4) KFC was in Brazil since the beginning of the 60's but most of the oulets closed down. Now there are several in Rio de Janeiro (for example the one located on Presidente Vargas was inaugurated in 2009). You can also find PFK in Barra de Tijuca, Norte Shopping and Ipanema.

5) Dunkin Donuts closed down their franchises in 2005, after 21 years in Brazil. The former Dunkin Donuts were converted in Café Donuts. The Rio Café Donuts are located in Norte Shopping, Iguatemi Shopping; Barra Shopping; Ilha Plaza; Shopping Tijuca.

6) Hooters: I know there's one in Vila Olimpia (São Paulo) but I've heard that the're planning to open new locations before 2014 (especially in Rio)

If they open a Krispy Kream in Brazil, then they would be ready for the Olympics!

Pharmacy Tambaú on Miguel Lemos. Between Galeto the Miguel (which BTW has cheap and good galeto-meals) and Restaurant Mônaco (which has delicious sandwiches with carne asada).

I recommend never starting a trip without access to antibios and vitamins. Never know when you might catch something or wear out the tool. The places below aren't strict at all; cipro, Vitamins V&C, amox are available. I restock my mongering kit in Rio for going to the those other countries that are strict and here's where I do it. You just hand them a piece of paper with the name and quantity on it, even if you speak Portuguese. I think they don't want to have a discussion about it without someone whom they think can't speak any Porto, so they fill the order no questions asked. .

Ethics aside, it's the culture there to take advantage of the other person whenever you can, so you can't blame them for trying. 90% of gringos coming into 22 probably get shafted and never dispute the charges. You are probably the exceptional person who knows the game. So they lost money on you, they still make money on the other 90% who pay it and don't dispute.

I have been having luck with the prive girls. They only work like 10 to 6pm, hence have the evenings off. If you screen the ones with 1) No kids 2) No boyfriend: it is relatively easy. There are like 50 decent prives in Rio. Lots and lots of choice, bound to find one you like in short time. The price of a TD (test drive) is only R$50. R$60 for 30 mins, although I usually take the hour which is R$80 to R$100. Anal can be extra at the best places, but once you see them a few times they have always thrown it in as a freebie for me.
