Where I go in China, smaller city, you always get a room (private) and I don't think there are any smaller side rooms, at least not in the general KTV area or that I am aware of. The hotel or KTV usually has a room in the hotel where you can go ST, but since I always go LT I haven't been to it. Next time I go I am going to ask the mamasan to show me the ST room. In this, as in all mongering situations, the more information you have the better off you will be and the more fun you can have. That's why, after going to China several times per year for the last few years, I now look forward to the trips and some good fun.
