Anybody ever check this out? Probably not I suppose, because if you are there you got a ton of girls anyway. I opened it the other day under "casual encounters" and there are dozens of escorts, some at 600 pesos an hour including greek, others at three hour sessions for $120. 00. However, I think you may have some false impressions. There is NO hotel that fits your criteria. The chicas from the various clubs you mentioned MUST utilize the hotels associated with their respective bars. Period. The exception is when their shift is finished she can go where she pleases. If you're looking to save money on short-time rentals, pick one of those two hotels and utilize only the girls from AB or HK, depending on which hotel you choose. You can supplement with the alley chicas, if necessary. Many will go to those hotels.

Normally the strippers or bar girls can't without a stiff bar fine being paid until their shift ends. If you want one to come after shift to your room expect anywhere from $120. 00 to $200. 00 for the night. Usually this isn't just an hour though, it can carry over all night. Actually, I did check Hotel Cascada's website and their Master Suite rooms do have safes. The standard rooms do not thought. The problem is though that the Master Suite rooms run $115. 00 per night and the standard room runs $60 per night. Those Master Suite rooms are expensive. Unfortunately Hotel Coahuila seems to not have a website that has the room rates. That was why on the Adelita board I asked and someone told me $35. 00. I was hoping the Hotel Coahuila had safes in the rooms but from what you have now said it looks like they do not.

Since you've been to Mexicali and Nogales, I'll put the relative safety in those terms. I feel much safer with regard to getting robbed by a girl or person on the street in Tijuana than I do in Mexicali and Nogales. The area you're going to around Adelita and Hong Kong is urban and there may be people that will try to relieve you of your money and valuables, but if you're not fall down shitfaced or not paying any attention, they'll not go near you. Like pickpockets in other places, they go for the easy marks.

I've been going to the Mexican border towns with my iPhone since they came out and haven't had one stolen. I lost one because I was wearing these stupid pants where things would fall out and so the phone fell out of my pocket somewhere and didn't realize until I got back to my hotel. That was in 2008 and I keep bringing my phone down with me. (I should note if you're translation app requires a data connection, you might find locking into an American carrier more difficult than in Mexicali. I get full bars of 3G in Mexicali and I have to roam on Telcel / Usatel / Movistar in Zona Norte. Unless I'm upstairs in the room).

Most guys and most of the club girls have iPhones or smartphones and they're not as novel as they might be in Mexicali. Spanish is unnecessary in the main clubs most of the time. If you look like a gringo most meseros and girls will speak to you in English until you start speaking Spanish. Everything is priced in dollars and often times getting change for even a 200 peso note can take time where waiter can easily break a 50 for you in USD.

I monger in many places and find that if you can't find a room with a safe, you can hide your phone, passport or money / cards in the room somewhere. I usually will put the stuff above the armoire or back of the closet or other place that above the eye level of average Mexican. When I would go to the Texas border towns before moving out here I'd leave my phone in the US, not carry cards, and hide my money in my sock. If you're in the main area of ZN that's not necessary.

I keep my money in my wallet and going to Tijuana is as risky as parts of San Diego. Just don't do stupid things like whip out your phone on the sidewalk or decide to count your money in the street. Be smart and it will be OK. While you're in the major bars feel free to use your phone to your heart's content. The girls won't steal your phone but they might want to play Angry Birds. They won't steal your money either but instead will use their wiles to have you willingly give them your money.

I have a feeling that once you've been it Tijuana you'll decide to drive over the mountain rather than stop in Mexicali. The quantity of women in Tijuana just doesn't compare to the small towns.

I use the Jibbigo App ([url]http://www.jibbigo.com[/url]). It does not use data, it is completely self contained with the dictionary in the SD card. In fact, it was created by Carnegie Mellon professor Dr. Alex Waibel for use by relief workers in third world countries that were in areas where there was no cell towers for thousands of miles. It worked so well that they later used the technology for other languages including Spanish and released it as an app for Iphone, Ipod Touch, IPad, Android Tablets and Android phones. If you do not speak Spanish like I do not I highly recommend it when travelling to Mexico. It was the best $5 I ever spent. It is not perfect but it does get you around good enough. Sometimes it does not say words like we want to say because of the slang so sometimes you have to use more proper terms to ask for what you want (I. E. Instead of blow job you must say oral sex, instead of fuck, you have to ask for sex etc). I have used it to order meals, get hotel rooms, ask people to call a taxi for me and even to negotiate with chicas. In fact, there is a girl in Mexicali at a place called El Establo named Rosie that really liked mine and wants one so she has asked me to bring her one next time I come and she will barter sex for it. I am trying to find a cheap, used Ipod Touch 3rd or 4th Generation (basically an Iphone that has all of the features except the phone itself) to bring her with the Jibbigo app loaded on it. Obviously, An Iphone from the USA would be of no value to her since it would be locked to AT&T or Verizon so that is why I am trying to get an Ipod Touch. You can get them at places like Liverpool. But for those prices, most girls will want a smartphone if they're spending their own money. There's a lot of iPod touches for sell on mercadolibre as well. I was expecting a package from FedEx one time in Mexico and I used the translation software to be able to tell the receptionist at the office about it. So I proudly announced "estoy embarazada una paquete de fedex" and everyone in the office burst out laughing. Context is everything and the translation applications aren't as good as they could be. I'd imagine they'd not be good at sexy time talk.

Since I do not speak Spanish, I did not know what "estoy embarazada una paquete de fedex" meant. I went to google translate on line and found out and I laughed hysterically. That is one good thing about Jibbigo. Jibbigo actually has two Spanish and two English dictionaries available. In Spanish you can tell it to use either Mexican or Spain Spanish. It therefore has all of the local phrases from that country in it. I knew abut the coger situation because I had a friend from Spain that went to Mexico and unknowingly told someone that he needed to fuck a bus. LOL. I tested out the translator to see if it did it right and it did not use coger so it does appear to have the correct Mexican phrases on it. For English you can choose to use American English or England English. I have only downloaded the American English and the Mexican Spanish dictionaries because that is all I ever use. I do not plan on going to Spain soon but if I did all I would have to do is download it. I of course do not speak English with a British accent using British colloquialisms so I do not need that either. It would be a waste of memory on my phone. To my knowlege, Jibbigo is the only translation app out there that has two Spanishes on it. I agree, it is not perfect but it does help you out. One time in Mexicali when I was there with Granjefe I was using the translator at a hotel to ask for two rooms on the east side. The receptionist could not understand what I was asking for. I tried it over and over again. They finally found someone that spoke English and got us taken care of. I found out later from someone that spoke Spanish the problem was that in Spanish the word for east and the word for this are the same words. Therefore the receptionist was reading it as "I want two rooms on THIS side". I found the way to get around that was to use the word eastern instead of east. Use the translation (from the application itself) of "Quiero dos habitciones en la parte oriental." instead of "Quiero dos habitaciones en el lade este." I have kind of found that if you try to use it and the person can not understand that if you try to say it in a different way you can usually get your point accross (I. E. If east does not work try the word eastern). I agree it definitely is not perfect but if you are unfortunate like I am and speak zero Spanish it does help you out.

Just curious, do you happen to know if it is the same for Android? My phone is an Android also on AT&T. Is there a market for unlocked Androids in Mexico? Will AT&T unlock an Android after your contract is up?

Spelling was only half of the problem.

The best translator I have used is actually my cell-phone's 'google' translator. I'm fairly fluent in Spanish and found it is pretty good. I use it when writing, and only have to make a couple of changes on mistakes it makes.

So I guess when I am in Mexicali on Friday night with the thee other guys if we decide to stay at Hotel Chinesa we will say "Quiero cuatro habitciones en el lado del este". Thanks for correcting my voice activated electronic translator's imperfect Spanish. I hope to be saying to the chicas "Cuanto por un carajo?" (That was taken directly from the translator as "how much for a fuck").

It does work better but the only issue with it is the data connection. In Mexicali, if I am really close to the border where I can pick up an American cell tower, I use it. Usually that means I can use it in the Zona and the Devil's Triangle region. Unfortunately if I venture out to Bar San Diego or El Establo I get out of the American cell tower range and I am then roaming. Roaming data charges are incredibly expensive. I am with AT&T wireless so maybe other carriers do better. So then I must use Jibbigo which works very well but is maybe a bit slower and its voice recognitition software is not quite as good as Google. Of course, when I am in BSD or El Establo the music is blaring fairly loud so the voice recognition does not work anyway so I have to type everything in so I guess it does not make much difference other than it is slower. I have not been to TJ so I do not know if my AT&T phone will be able to pick up an American tower in the Zona Norte yet.

It takes ingenuity to do this if you do not speak Spanish at least in Mexicali. Technology has made it so even non Spanish speakers like me can monger in Mexico. LOL. Of course, believe it or not I actually sometimes have to use it in Phoenix. There are areas of Phoenix where no one speaks English. It sounds like from what I have read on here that Tijuana is maybe a bit more bi-lingual than Mexicali so I may not need it as much. I think from what I have read there are more people in Tijuana that speak English than there are in Phoenix. LOL. From what I have read, most of the ladies in Adelitas, Hong Kong, Tropical and Chicago all speak at least a little bit of English.
