This place is bad right now, foreigners get robbed and drugged every day some having their entire life-savings wiped, and prices will go UP not down because Paisa culture is greedy! They don't think about getting more clients with less expensive rates, they are too selfish and dumb for that. They will raise prices to compensate. I've lived here for 7 years and I have never seen locals so furious. They are reporting gringos to the police now left and right. In my building, they've called the police on visitors 3 times in the last month. Locals are having neighborhood meetings about gringos, pedos and gentrification. And all of this happened because YouTubers convinced the whole world that Medellin is the only city in the world with beautiful women and good prices. I plan on traveling to a few of my other favorite cities OUTSIDE of Colombia (I'm not going to say where because you clowns will blow up the spot) where I can monger in peace and I'm moving out of the city by July. It is just too much, drugging, killings, and now the Mayor hiring an ENTIRE task force to catch gringos. No way man. The writing is on the wall. So most likely they will just move further down Calle 10 until they are outside of the area that Fico has designated around Lleras and parque el poblado. They will most likely just move further to the east or west or maybe back to that mayorista area of Itagui that was being discussed a cpl weeks ago.

There is a regular bench that several "rats" sit at least 3-4 times every week starting around 3:00 when the sun is not on them. There is 5 guys right there on that one bench. I was there during the covid lockdown and there were 4 of us foreigners in one hotel near the church at Centro when there were very few tourists what so ever. True, do not walk Centro after 8:30-9:00 pm.

I mean who really knows what the actually details are depending on whether you trust media here. Judging on how they treat deceased or scolpomined gringos, It doesn't seem like any mongers are held in a favorable light like, as if we're expendable. I doubt they have due process here like they do in other first world countries. What if someone's FB arrangements start out looking 30 or more and something total different shows up like a girl a day shy of her 18th birthday. They are smart enough to understand the market in El Centro and would not ask for 250 mil in El Centro. But they will look for different ways to attract the same clients and will find them. Or as someone said, they will travel overseas to Costa Rica, Mexico or if they can, United States or Europe. They know their worth to foreigners and foreigners are willing to pay them more than El Centro girls if they are the type of girls that foreigners want. I rarely see the type of girls that I like in El Centro.

For example, lets say you are a plumber and you normally charge $150 and you think you are a good plumber. Business is slow and then a guy calls you up and says I will pay you $10 to fix my pipes. Now, you may say, $10 is better than nothing but I can assure you that the plumber would rather pass on the job than take an amount that he thinks is insulting due to pride and his thoughts on the value of what he offers. Most high end girls in Poblado will think the same way. If they are normally charging $50 or more, they aren't going to take $10.

But for now, actually, if you read some personal reports elsewhere, things haven't changed that much and the girls still hang around in Poblado.

Authorities believe he is in hiding in the United States. As you stated, he left Colombia and his last known whereabouts is the United States. At 36 years old, if he doesn't try to leave the US and he has enough resources to get by for a couple of years he should be able to work his way into gigs that don't require stringent background checks. His prospects are clearly much worse than they were before this incident.
