Some places will leave you alone, some places will pressure you to buy drinks and others will not only pressure you but also scorn you for not buying. It's up to you how much pressure you can take, but when the time comes, its easy enough just to walk out and find another bar that you feel more comfortable in.

Almost impossible IMO to find a decent looking bird in a beer bar in Pattaya these days. The place just seems full of rough old bar girls and the punters seem to be here either to drink themselves senseless or to sponsor the first thing they can find.

It is very sad when you remember what the beer bar scene was like a few years back.

Is it possible to meet Non-pro girls in Pattaya, Thailand or is it all pro girls? I'm a relatively good looking Young guy that wants to stay somewhere for a few months relax a bit, and not pay girls for sex but hang out and make friends and maybe a relationship for the duration of the time I'm there. I rarely see foreigners with really hot Thai girls who are not pros. Why? The rich, good-looking Thai girls don't want to date foreigners. Their dream is to marry a good Thai man (preferably Thai-Chinese with white skin). Foreigners are a step down from this. After living here for 4 years I rarely see really hot Thai girls arm in arm with a foreigner. If you speak Thai, your chances improve however. Lots of these "9" and "10" girls only date Thai men because they want to be someone they can communicate with (along with the reason mentioned before). Although their English might be good, obviously their Thai is better and they want a partner whom they can talk to and share things with.

Also, the hottest girls are in Bangkok. Pattaya has a reputation not only for working girls, but for the farang men who go there, so many girls who live in Pattaya who are not "pros" will no doubt look at you as a sexpat because many westerners who live and visit Pattaya fit this description.

My advice would be to skip Pattaya and stay in Bangkok where you will probably have better luck. Try a few online dating sites. I had a lot of luck with those and there are some real gems on there. But as for the 9s and 10s walking around Emporium, Esplanade, and Siam Square, if you don't speak Thai, you're probably not going to get anywhere with them.

Well, after reading hundreds of pages on this great forum, I finally arrived to LOS on beginning of December, flying from EU with stop over at Delhi. First time ever in this part of world. But 90% of the bars were all closed, Pattaya was dead, and those bars that were open were not selling alcohol. Just beer (some of them) and soft drinks. 90% of the girls were having day off.
