You were misinformed. It was indeed the Politur - I saw it unfold from my chair at the Central bar. Same exercise took place last night.

What does this all mean for a first timer? Should I be worried about going down to Sosua and wait until next year? Will all the chica biz go to Puerto Plata from now on? I'm just thinking out loud here.

When there is a serious crime the Politur, from what I have seen, pass the investigation over to the National Police.
I have not seen the Politur out very late at night, usually the very late at night patrols, are done by the National Police.
From what I saw, when I was detained in the small Sosua police station, next door to the Supermarket, many of the National Police guys were wearing civilian clothes.

For a long time I would come home with hundreds of photos. Lately I have been taking fewer and fewer pics. Some of the chicas I was with last few trips didn't know I had a camera. LOL

#1 WAY WAY too many Captain Save a Ho's
#2 The girls are getting very astute to sites like this one and don't even like "candid" beach or street pics anymore, never mind the bedroom frolick.
#3 Gringos might be scared as well.. Wasn't there a story a year or 2 back where a gringo got held in jail and was extorted for $5k for making sex pics with a girl then uploading them to a site like this one. The chica then claimed and reported to the police that it was "defamation of character". The gringo was jailed until he came up with the $5k fine "bribe" to avoid a lengthy jail sentence. Apparently the puta and the police had a nice scam going. I'm sure she received a healthy kickback!

You get person info requests from guys that have never posted a pic in their ISG life. I have friends from ISG that I exchange personal pics with other ways privately. I'm an amateur photographer but this is not the place for that anymore.

The head of the National Police for the Dominican Republic used to golf with an older Spanish guy who got caught trying to ship 1200 kilos of cocaine from Santo Domingo to Spain.
Looks like the murder of the rich American lawyer in Sosua will never be solved.
It means nothing, just go and have a good time. No one will bother you in any of these areas. Have a great trip.

Hello to all. I just walked in the door after a great week in Sosua! I read a couple of posts about the police crackdown and thought I would comment. Yes there is a crackdown going on. It's not an all out "raid", but it is evident. That being said, there was no problem finding talent. The police are out at night, but are pretty much stationary. Any girl walking the strip alone at night is a target. I spent most of the week with my Haitian "girlfriend", and she told me the deal. If a girl walks alone past the police she could be picked up. They are taken to the station and have to pay a 600 peso fine. After the fine they are free to go. Doesn't matter if they have a passport and visa or not. If the girl is walking with male company she is left alone. Period. The police don't enter the bars at all. MANY times I was walking with my girl, and another girl asked if she could walk with us. Sometimes it was one girl, other times three or four. We walked past the police and they didn't even give us a glance! Once inside a bar, the girl is free to work her trade. The motoconcho's are being pulled over left and right. The helmet law is being enforced. There was plenty of talent, and if I wasn't told what was going on, I wouldn't have even noticed. Most nights were actually very busy,and the police didn't detract from my week at all. I also have to give high marks to The Hotel Terra Linda. That is where I stayed, and it was fabulous. If you stay for 6 days or more, the rate is $60 per night. $69 for less than 6 days. Breakfast was included, and it was a very good breakfast at that! The pool was maintained very well, and the place was spotless! No problem bringing girls back. They have a rule about one girl per guy, but that is negotiable, like everything else down in the D.R. Slip the night guard a $200 peso "propina", and your good to go. The girl just has to be out by 6 a.m. Every time I saw him, he smiled, and asked if I was going to have extra company that night! He really seems to enjoy the rule, and the tip that it brings him each night! hahaha! Everyone who worked there was fabulous. The bartender by the pool in the afternoon was really great, and worked his ass of to please me. The drinks were VERY reasonable, and STRONG!! A couple of girls were let in in the afternoon, and they were more than happy to jump in the pool, and have a little "fun". I was also told that if you stop by, and buy a couple of beers, you can use the pool for free! The pool is very big, clean, and new. Stop by and check it out, you won't be disappointed!
Also just got back from a week in Sosua. The Politur grabbed girls almost every night and not just Haitanas. Dominicanas without cedulas also went to jail and had to pay the 600P fine. As with any action like this, there was some harassment or so the chicas reported. One of my regulars from POP had me meet her at the Parada and walk her to NG. There were two Politur who came by the NG just before the bar closed at 11 pm on the 2-3 nights when I was hanging there. Had a few slow nights in the discos and lots of new faces. Many of the regulars were missing. Not near the talent that I saw on my last visit over Memorial Day.
