Addresses / Recommendations for a fly-by!
In mid-Jan I'm going to be flying into SP in the early hours of the morning (like 1 am!) and flying out again at 11 pm on a long flight home, bafter some happy times in Colombia, I hope!
Bad timing. But I can think of some things I'd rather do than hang around the airport -- with your help, that is.
There are lots of interesting places mentioned in the Forum, (VW, Tangara, Miruna, Akura etc), and I've Googled a few. But with zero Portuguese language skills (desculpe! I'd really appreciate your recommendations. It doesn't need to be top-of-the-line, just somewhere easy to find, with an address that I could easily give to a taxi driver and be confident of passing a happy hour or more before heading back to the airport. My preference would be the kind of place where you can relax with a drink, with the girls dropping by to say Hello, (or where they get into some serious tempting moves!) if such a thing is possible -- but a straight "line-up and take your pick" is also fine.
Your guidance on the process and pricing of your recommendations is much appreciated.
Thanks
Hi Guys. Need your suggestions and advice, please! And thanks!
So, I have not been in Brazil for about 2 years. I will be arriving in early Jan for 3 weeks. I will probably spend about 2 weeks in São Paulo. And I am having a tough time understanding the current state of the scene in cities other than SP and Rio.
I plan to spend a week in another city besides SP. Either Belo Horizonte or Curitiba or Manaus. I have not been to Manaus except for a transit stop. And, it's been several years since I have been to any other city other than SP or Fortaleza. Obviously, is a long flight and would crash about 2 of the 7 days just in travel door to door, due to transportation to the airport and back etc.
I have been to Brazil many many times, over decades, I am now in my 50's and my Porto is limited to getting by in restaurants, hotels, bars, taxis etc. Rio is not my thing.
I am familiar with my most places in SP, including the prives. But I prefer non pros and semi pros.
In the past, I have had very good success with Brazil Cupid, but for what ever reason, maybe because I am in my 50 's now, I am not sensing the same kind of vibe and feedback / success rate as before. I stick with 18-25 olds, BTW, because I love to dance super intensely and and stay out 5 days a week until about 5 - 7 am! LOL.
I generally love a 50-50 split between pros and prives vs. Non pros and semi pros. And love to hang with one garota for sometime for 2-3 days and frankly sex is less important to me than most others folks here, I think, and I like to connect while dancing intensely at a place like Love Story until 5/6 am or hanging out at O Malleys in SP, or hitting a restaurant and going shopping with a nice girl I feel some small level of connection with, at my favorite mall Shopping Higienopolis and buying a top or shoes for them. In addition to a few hundred reais in cash, over day. And, I bring perfumes, chocolates and other stuff since I like to mix things up.
I know I am weird and different but that's what I like.
So, I am looking for the collective intelligence, experience and wisdom of you guys here to tell me whether in Jan 2016, for someone like me, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba or Manaus (I would lose 2 of 7 days to travel) is best at this time for someone like me and my frame of mind and likes.
Thanks guys and sorry to bother you with a strange request like this! And, FYI, I am not looking for a GF or anything like that. And I so spend about 50 PC of my time now traveling to the Latin countries and I kind of look Brazilian (meaning I am a mix of multiple ethnicities, but unluckily for me, zero black % but I do love dancing to rap, hip hop and anything but country and I am quite wild, but even black guys give me high fives for my dancing and I can definitely beat most 20 somethings on the dance floor for 5-6 hours straight. I do plan to visit some samba dance halls because I love intense dancing. LOL.
So, with that said, what other places would you suggest in SP, and also an alternate city for a 1 week side trip.
As for SP, I have hit Rua Augusta and Centro and the prives etc and also places like Bomboa in the past in SP many times in the past as also prives and hotel delivery (as the Brazilians call it).
The reason for this post is because I have not been in Brazil for a few years and I am out of touch and that too only visited SP and Fortaleza about 2 years ago.
I am NOT into RIO but one girl did take the bus from Rio suburbs to SP and spend 2-3 days with me last time I visited. And, I suppose I could call her again if I wanted. And, Fortalleza was good but it's a 3 hour flight each way, as opposed to 50 minutes to BH or Curitiba.
And thanks in advance for your suggestions and advice guys! I will post feedback in late Jan, after I return from my 3 week trip, including SP Centro spots, Love Story, O' Malleys, Rua Augusta and the prives, all of which I will surely revisit. This I promise.
