For the month of Ramadan the rules were relaxed a bit and some general items stores are also allowed it seems. Some restaurants are also allowed to open for dining on the condition that they operate at 30% of their capacity and don't allow in the young and the elderly. I would surmise that if the numbers don't get too bad they would keep it as is after Ramadan. But they also say that July is a best case scenario and it could take till September. So most businesses feeding in the tourism sector will be concerned (hospitality, F&be, retail etc.). Beauty spas and barbers have already reopened. The case of massage Spas is a bit peculiar as it would be subject to the implementation of additional precautions to avoid contamination (mask, gloves). But they would most likely be allowed to open in a second phase after September. Also, I would imagine that they would carry out inspections more often to check that hygiene rules are respected and unfortunately this additional scrutiny will lead to stricter enforcement of gender separation (remember the infamous no men allowed sign). In any case I assume many a staff will leave as most of them only get the extras for salaries. There's still a chance for them to come back unless they find another destination before then. As for the Spas themselves, some will close for good and their owners will flee the country to avoid having to pay for the rent as contracts lock in the tenant for at least a year if their business was not doing so well and don; t expect it to ever pick up. So the future is a bit grim for the Spas.
