I've been going to SB and SG for at least 10 years, if they know you, there are no rules at all. No pay upfront girls tip, no setting of price and no mention of (or actual) CBJ. The manager of both bars are great guys (same old owner and he's ok too though a little bit thai mafia style if you ask me. I approached him and a goon tried to stop me. He later sent a tall Long island Ice Tea over once he found out I was a many years regular). Nearly all of the hostesses in both bars are lovely too, some have been working there for many years. I get huge hugs from most when I arrive first night.

Buy the occasional drink for the bosses or serving girls and you are in. Next time it's total VIP treatment. Don't forget a nice tip for the toilet old ladies too. God they heve been there forever and always remember my name even after 6 months.

Never paid more than B1500 ST and B2500 LT there, though most girls in both bars seem to prefer ST and a few customers a night (reminds me of Rainbow bars in Nana). And most with japs too though they will all happily go with a ferang. Fair play to them. It's their bodies and most of them are lovely so 'up to them'.

Did have a good Indian friend who got the cold shoulder from an amazing girl in SG one time. Oh and from walking street bar too where he was refused entry. Another story, later.

If you want the cheapest don't bother but they are mostly a cut above the average gogo girls, though some of the newer bars are jap oriented too and getting just as good.

My advice. If you like young, mostly big breasted and very pretty girls 'jap style' then put a wee bit effort in over a couple of nights, but a drink for the boss or a serving girl, chat a bit, then a few days later all those "rules" will disappear. Ok you end up paying more but 100B on your bill for a couple of nights will set you up in there for many visits in the future. If they don't then it must just be because I really am a "hansum man" (which I have said all along)! .

I visited on a late morning (so as to have time to recharge for Walking Street gogos at night) and saw a lineup of about 40 girls behind the glass, IMHO 6s to 7s with good size cleavage (if that's your thing, not crucial for me). Else I will ask myself if I ever feel like coming back. Yesterday I left quickly before it came to my mind to ask as soon as I got pissed when some girls I spotted were already getting dressed and leaving with men who came before me.

Began and ended my trip at this world class destination. In terms of nightlife, food, accommodations, and daytime activities (especially golf) it does not get better.

First week I stayed at the Sheraton Pattaya on points. Amazing hotel, a little incovenient, defintely girl-friendly. It cost 150-200B to get to Walking Street although there is a shuttle at night.

When barhopping I find myself happier at the smaller intimate bars then the larger packed ones. This leads me to spend a lot of time on Soi Diamond as all of the bars in this area fit that bill. I was surprised at the newer clubs Alcatraz and Faranheit. I liked the vibe at Faranheit and spent some productive time there. I also like the revolving bars on Soi Diamond which can be entertaining and they are a good place for a cigar. They key to these smaller bars is that they change by the week so Naughty girls and the Super Baby bar next to it were great Week 1, but Star and the other Super Baby were better Week 5. BTW my target market is girls that have been in town a month or less. I love being the first farang which happened several times on this trip. The key is to chat up the mamasan when you first sit down and she will usually guide you to the freshness before the wolves start sniffing. It also pays to buy these new girls a little alcohol as you are getting to know them as it loosens things up.

My first week was definitely focused on partying so I did not do much during the day other than recharge by the pool. The best legit massage I found was just outside the entrance to Walking Street called Perfect Massage and second place went to Marine Massage at the top of Soi Marine. For a sexy massage visit one of the places on Soi 6 as I had a regular lunchtime appt with a girl at one of the places there. I also noticed the talent level on Beach Road to be improved. I really enjoy that walk!

I love the street food at Nana on Soi 15 and the spot across from Marine Seafood, I have been going there for 6-7 years and it is great food at a great price.

My last week I stayed at the Grand Hotel based on recommendations in the forum. Decent hotel, best location, great value 1600B, good wifi, and terrible staff (but really did need any help after checkin). I will most likely stay here again. The rooms on the 9th floor are key as they are far enough above Walking Street that it is quiet with slider closed. Great balcony overlooking the action.

I also found time to golf a few times my last week and I regret not golfing more. Pattaya is truly a golfer's paradise and the courses here are top notch. The best deal is to hook up with a golf social club. The one I found was the Golden Ferrett in Pattaya New Plaza. They provide a nice breakfast, transport, prizes, and a beer upon return. They golf at a different place every day. I ended up going with them every other day my last week. St Andrews 2000 was a spectacular course. Golf map attached.

[/quote]sorry, i'm not an expert on the pattaya soapies. i only visited sabaidee and took peeks at the girls at a couple other places nearby (and i'm just generalizing over looks). as ever with things in thailand, discussing the time issue upfront with the manager won't provide any guarantee, but if you're shorted later you'll at least have a right to complain (for what that's worth; at sabaidee a reasonable complaint might not get you anywhere). at sabaidee, i met the girl at a counter near the fishbowl before we took off to the room. it was here, in front of the manager / male attendant as you pay you ought to mention it, perhaps move your finger around your watchface or somesuch and get a nod of agreement. after the sabaidee visit i realized that gogos and the bars were a lot more fun for me, as i enjoy chatting with the lasses.
