The place is called VIP Money Changer. 23 Menteng Raya, Jakarta Pusat. 10340 Jakarta, hotline: 021-3190 7777 and 4444, its near Menteng Plaza, in Cikini area.

There are 3 drawbacks however:

- one is that the taxis may have difficulty in finding it, its near an ugly building painted in bright blue and white,

- two, you have to take a number and quue up, it took me 37 minutes wait,

- and three make sure you have your I'd with you, I had to get back to the hotel to get my passport.

On the subject of taxis recommended ones include Express, Taxiku, Transcab, Gamya from the 'Tarif Bawah' section. Only once have I been taken for a ride when I used a dodgy taxi and it was raining thus no reputable taxis were available once he started to unfollow the directions I was giving I paid the metre and got out so I stick to above mentioned taxis on the whole.

PS avoid the KostiJaya taxis remember one time no AC in the 30 year old ford banger.

Ok so I have been here two weeks in Jakarta and I have come to two conclusions that have been expressed before, in part or whole 1. You treat Indonesian women with respect and be nice to them and they will do anything for you 2. Indonesian women are real sex machines.

From my contacts from DIA so far I have batted 100. I have met with 3 of them and each time was not disappointed. The first date, we were in the sack on the second date. The next time I met her friends and we all had dinner, that night I was repaid were well. Not a night to forget. And all it was, be yourself. The second one, I was tired from a long week and was just meeting her for dinner, within and hour of meeting, we were doing the horizontal mumbo and she was a getter. Three times and she wanted more, broke my heart to have to send her away so I could get some sleep. The third one I had met and she came to my room, had dinner there. From a long day was tired so asked if she wanted to stay as it was late why not? In the morning she was horny as hell and I had to be at the office for a meeting in an hour, thank god I got a message that my coworker was going to be late, give time to recover.

Have dates with two more I meet on DIA and my even ask that cute hostess in the hotel out as well, she has a great body but I think I need some rest first only have 4 more weeks here, pace myself.

Now for some more relevant info.

I have found that the rate that is charged at the Shangrila is not that much different than the rates the money changes charge. So maybe a good thing to change it at the front desk if you have older notes to change the staff is pretty friendly and accommodating to your requests, (that cute hostess even suggested she can go to Bandung with me when I take a trip next week) and the hotel seems to be girl friendly as I have not been asked about guests.

Now the cons, hotel is far from anything so have to take a taxi to get there and the restaurants in my opinion are not work the time or cost, you can probably find better and more authentic foods at the malls for a lower price and this is where I have most of my meals.

So my two cents for now, will have more reports to post in the weeks to come as I have more adventure here in this city Jakarta.

I was going to write a long report with a lot of blah blah (I already posted something in the Hotels thread) , but I decided to cut it short. We often tell people to RTFF, but honestly it took me a lot of reading, re-reading, and organizing to make sense of all the posts. The monger map was a huge help:

Places visited:

1. [b]Tiga Puluh[/b]. This means "30" in Bahasa and maybe it's the minimum age requirement for the ladies to enter. I was warned that there older girls here, but honestly I saw all shapes and sizes. It's super convenient if you're staying in Le Meridien, since it's downstairs. I ended up taking a girl with big boobs (silicone assisted, alas) and a bug butt up to my room, and she seemed to know all of the security personnel. One cautionary note: the girls look much different in the bright lights of your hotel room than in a dark club, so be ready for a surprise. I got three pops in eight hours, so I was satisfied. I was there on a Monday night and it was quiet, but they had a Filipino band (they have two that alternate) that was quite good and played everything from rock to rap. They had a "buy one, get two free" program that they strangely called something like, buy one, drink three.

2. [b]Maribaya at Melawai Hotel[/b]. (They pronounced it like Mela-"way") I really liked this place, reminded me a bit of the thermas in Rio. Go into the hotel, take the 5th floor, and walk down some run-down hallways into a run-down club, and you're there. There were a couple of girls near the entrance, and about 20 girls total, all looking at me like hungry dogs. Only one other customer at the bar with his girl when I was there. With all those eyes on me, I chose a rather non-Indonesian tall girl, with A / B cups and a nice personality. Back to the run-down room for the usual activities. The fee was 450K plus a tip (I was on the generous side) , and 80K for my Jack & Coke and her Pocari.

3. [b]Hotel Classic[/b]. This place is a huge club with a little of everything. When you come in, straight ahead is a stage with a junior-high style dance show; on the left are some strippers' poles; and on the right are couches with lots of girls. The mamasans are very aggressive about trying to bring you girls and use green laser pointers to point them out, call the waiter, etc. The shocker was that the show switched to a topless show-in conservative Indonesia! Still, most of the topless dancers looked bored and were not into it, but I couple had my ideal body type. Additional topless girls came out to dance on the poles and hustle for shots. I think it was five for 25K? One of the girls had a smoking body and really big tits, so I bought her three shots. (She climbed up on me and I even discretely touched them-they were real-and I didn't get thrown out of the club.) But she had a tray of shots to sell and soon moved on. It was my last night in Jakarta and I had several places to see, so I didn't try any of the girls, though there were enough cute ones to be happy and all shapes and sizes. When you enter, you are given a wrist band to aggregate your purchases. At one point, they took my wrist band away while bringing me a drink, and I was worried about my tab being padded, but you have to sign for drinks, and the bill was correct. (You have to pay and get an exit card to leave the club.)

4. [b]Hotel Travel[/b]. I didn't stay long here. On the ground floor, you enter what was described as a hotel cafeteria. There were some girls sitting on couches and a karaoke video playing on stage. Behind the main room was a second room with pool tables that was pretty busy. It seemed you could get a girl and play pool for the evening. The main room had small circular tables and uncomfortable looking high chairs, and I didn't feel like I wanted to stay there long. And I didn't.

5. [b]BATS[/b] (Bar at the Shangri-La.) This was tied with Maribaya as my favorite place. You enter the hotel and go down, down. And enter a rocking party! When I was there, it was full of expats and working girls, and the girls seemed more dressed up and "upscale" than at Tiga Puluh. Everybody was having a great time, there were plenty of girls to go around. I stood at the bar and started flirting with some of the working girls. I ended up taking the one nearest to me home (I should have looked around-there were some hot girls there) , and she ended up getting a phone call because "one of her friends was drunk," which was okay with me because my flight was leaving in a few hours and I had to pack. The girls had wanted to drag me to Red Square, but I didn't have the time. I had also wanted to go to Blok M (she claimed it was some kind of bad area and to "wear a condom" if a brought a girl home (like I did with her) , but I ran out of time and it got late.

I spent too much time in Jakarta (and wasted a day taking a city your) , but I needed a couple of days to get the lay of the land and get oriented. Next time, a couple of days in Jakarta, then on to Yogyakarta, and maybe Surabaya. My opinion was that the girls were more relaxed and friendly than in other high-traffic mongering areas.

If you go after 11 pm, the girls start showing up at Mistere and you could have one before midnight. Weekends are crowded with lots of free lancers there. The bar at Ritz changed the name from Mistere to Tempus a couple of years ago. But they have been closed completely now for a few months. Supposedly renovating again, but business was so bad, who knows if they will open again? I do hear there is a special Halloween party there Wednesday, so maybe they are opening again. They still have salsa and special events in the outside bar, but the big disco bar where the free lancers used to be has been closed recently.

You can get a better massage at Delta, but you can get full sex at Fortune. Just depends what you want. They are about equidistant from your hotel.
