Seems to be mucho local action here on weekends. Anyone tried it?

Visited about 10pm Friday, but was dead. Talked to a bartender friend, she said they have a lesbo act about midnight on Sat.?

Sosua Life has far fewer patrons. The disco is more and more inhabited with young local men, several obviously gay and/or bi-sexual. Music is loud and hip-hop. They are no competition because of their orientation and lack of money. However, i did find 2 terrific young chicas there. Classico bar always full. Disco very good with a lotta 7's, a few 8's. Easy to find good chicas. Sat., they tried a 100 peso cover. I believe it failed. Please boycott them, if they try again.

Both appear to be finished. Maybe here and there?

My trip to Sosua is up and down! Best body ever, has returned from Miami with a grande actitude=so much for her. My favorita(Jeni)= a couple good sessions, then she decided to ''play me'' against others =goodbye. #3 Favorita has not returned from SDQ. I went with 4'' tongue chica (Veronica) one night, great-round-the-world and bbbj. Similar with a stacked Haitian. All of these chicas can be found at Classic and Sosua Life. I would say the scene here has deteriorated some since the holidays=fewer stunners. Oh well, my gf arrived Sunday from SDQ and all is well!

Near the S.W. corner of Pedro Clisante and Dr. Rosen. Many ex-pats ''hang'' there. A great place to meet people. Good food, coffee pots, internet, Wi-Fi, reasonable. Marco is the owner and an excellent, knowledgable owner. They have parties, Holiday dinners, etc..

Chica friendly but with knowledgeable security, big pool, game room, good restaurant, fun bar with visiting chicas, and an all monger clientel. Located near the far end of Pedro Clisante, near the Casino. I have stayed there 5 times. Henk and Harold are the managers.

This guy has so many aliases going on it isn't funny. He promotes his pathetic little restauraunt on every forum related to the DR.

Next time you're there, why not ask his cooks what they think of him? Ask the expats that aren't hanging out there what they think of his restauraunt.

Visit the DR1 forum to witness his many aliases. It really is pathetic.

Truth: Food takes about 90 minutes to get to your table. This accounts for the "atmosphere" you get. It takes so long because his cooks hate him. Many people have witnessed him screaming at the employees. He's a wannabee.

There are dozens of better places to "hang" than that place. The only reason for the rib reputation is the aliases posting about them.

Just thought people should know the truth.

If you have a beef with Marco (the owner of Rocky's), why not address it with him?

Because by steering traveling mongers away from Rocky's - you're denying them one of the DR's most comfortable, fun, safe and affordable experiences.
I've been to Sosua MANY times. Have stayed several OTHER places, but have found my Sosua "home" at Rocky's.

The rooms are basic at best, most without AC. And yes, you'll wait awhile for your food. There might even be a big-ass black dog underfoot as you eat or drink. Welcome to Rocky's. It's like your oldest, most comfortable pair of slippers.

Marco has been most cordial to me He spent at least one hour making refinements to my laptop. He refused any payment.

I am another fan of Rocky's... no shill just another monger who knows he can get a decent breakfast and access to the web in a colorful atmosphere.... it is a regular meeting spot of mongers from various boards and though yes food takes time getting there - it is much like the DR experience - no one is in a rush.

I only went to Rocky's once, but I liked it too.

As EK said, slow service is part of the DR experience. The excuse they used when I was there was that everything was made fresh. OK, I'll buy that.

I liked the internet access there also.

I opened an account at Bankers Trust, 25 Pedro Clisante for $25. They give you a Miami address. You have all your USA mail forwarded by the Post Office to the Miami address. The Miami office of BT sends it to Sosua for $3.50 per pound. BT telephones you that mail has arrived.

I'm convinced that most of these forums focus on how to be a cheapskate more than how to have fun. Let's face it sosua is a shit hole because everyone wants everything for next to nothing. I think there is a real difference between paying too much, paying a fare price, and being cheap. While I see nothing wrong with finding good buys and getting discounts, I think it is crazy how all the forums focus on being a cheap ass. Most of these guys are trying to penny pinch because they are making several trips per year and they can't afford quality lodging and sevices over the 4-10 trips they will make per year. There is nothing wrong with this, but all of that gets lost in translation. Most people new to these forums don't realize that the post they are reading is by a guy who plans on making several trips per year to the DR and other places. So they don't realize why the guy is chasing 100RD chicas, staying in shit hole hotels, and then trying to convince you that this is how the DR is supposed to be done.

I was reading a post on another forum by one of the senior members. This was an unusual post because the member was posting about his trip to Las Vegas. In the post I noticed the guy went all out. He stayed at an expensive hotel on the strip. Bought expensive drinks for chicas and treated them to expensive shows. But when in the DR it's $30 rooms and $30 chicas.

I use the above example to show that if you have never been to the DR then you may want to take following advice:

Read the Forum(s)- there is a lot of great information there that can point you in the right direction. You can gage what the going rate is to pay a chica for short time or Todo la noche. Also the forums contain lots of information that will keep you safe.

Be yourself- Don't try to reproduce someone elses vaction experience. Get ideas from the forum and explore new things. Keep in mind that these forum(s) like politics have a certain spin to them. The forum(s) have a certain slant that leans toward, how to be a cheapskate in DR, instead of how to have a good time in the DR.

Accomodations- If you've never been to the DR before, but have been on vacation before, then you know what kind of hotel it is that you need. Of course it must be chica friendly (chicas are what these boards are about). after that it is up to you to decided. Don't let people on the board steer you into staying at a shit hole hotel because its OK for them. There are all levels of Chica friendly places in the DR from rooms, to condos, to villas. All reasonably priced. I take this one personally because it happend to me (palace hotel). 2 weeks ago I visited a friend of mine staying at the latest monger favorite hotel (New Garden). The Bathroom had a hot water heater just above the bathroom door. The water tank was leaking water at a fast rate and pouring water over the electric wires. It took serval complaints for management to give him a new room. So keep in mind that the latest monger hotel does not mean that it is a quality hotel. It usually means it's chica friendly and cheap.

Paying Chicas- Again read the forum because you need to find what the average going rate is for chicas. Once you know the going rates ignore the cheapskates. So what if Joe found a $300RD chica. Just be you. You may get some for free. I did. I'm for over paying a chica as much as I am for over paying for a car. I wouldn't. However, I know a Ferrari when I see one and that is not often. After having had countless chicas in the DR, every now and then I feel entitled to have a top shelf chica. That's when I'll pay more than the going rate and that is not very often. Mainly because I can't find a chica that I think is worth it. It takes more than great looks for me to think a chica is worth more than the going rate. It's vibe and her attitude as well.

Summary- Don't let these forum(s) recreate you. We all like pussy. That is the one thing we have in common. So read the forum(s) so that you can gain information on what you need. Spit the rest out. There are many ways to do the DR. If you can have it all and you can afford it, go for it. Some of you will only be able to go to the DR once a year or once in a lifetime. So make the most of it. These are memories for life. Don't worry about the discount traveller on his 15th DR trip.
