Jakarta - Hotels

Nice hotel, pillow menu, quiet location with a couple of options on transport. Very near the busway stop in case you need to get through the traffic. Nearest places: Tiga Puluh, BATS (5 mins at night by cab). Blok M can be accessed by busway, and when you come back late night, the reception area is quiet so not much of a walk of shame. $75 a night is dirt cheap for this place.

What is the standard of the lounge at Jakarta airport? I have a 4 hour layover
and will need a shower and freshen up. Or should I book into the airport hotel.

I don't recall ever seeing shower in any lounges. You could exit and stay at the airport hotel, order a 'massage' and enjoy for a few hours. Do a search for details....

You can rent a room at the Airport hotel. The joint is not bad. A bit pricey at $90. Rooms are large, clean, comfy. Take a nap and get a shower. They used to have a 6-hour rate, less than the full rate. Not sure anymore about that lesser rate.

Several lounges at JKT airport accept you for a $ 10 note (but they have no showers). At the departure level in the public area at the end of the domestic section is a spa where you can take a good massage and shower (so before you go into the check in area). The airport hotel also offers massage.

The BC Lounge of Malaisian Air at KL airport has excellent showers and a very good massage service .

I stayed there a few months ago and got a very cheap deal but it's not in a very good location for mongering, at least not where I usually go. It's worth remembering that there is no point in saving 20USD a night on the room and paying that in taxi fares. There is no problem taking girls in of course. I didn't see any girls at all hanging around in the hotel at any time.

If you are an elite member of Priority Club, it can certainly be worth it to stay there. Nice upgrades, and even unlimited free mini-bar if you have the top status.

Thank you all for the feedback- I think since my main reason for going is to monger, I'm better off staying at one of the other hotels right by Blok M or Kota. I am a member of Priority Club, but only Gold, not top tier- and I seem to remember the last time I booked and paid through Asia Travel, I didn't get any Priority Club points.

The official charges for a non eligible entrant to the lounge is IDR 50,000, which is less than USD 5 in todays exchange rate. Those who are eligible are basically those with various frequent flyer miles apart from the Business.First class passengers and also those with other memberships such as Gold/Platinum credit card members etc

Staff quite friendly but not much chat with customers. A fair choice of hot and cold food, but needs to be improved to match airlines such as Malaysia, Cathay, Singapore etc. Small smoking room area, nice bar area at one end and 2 internet terminals = wifi not working when I visited the lounge. Washrooms very basic, and the 1 shower room was so unpresentable that I preferred not to use it! Not bad for Garuda, but they could so much better!

this hotel is next to the sheraton in jl industri.

the hotel has a spa/massage on the third floor. access to the third floor is by the elevator via the hotel restaurant.

once you exit the lift on the third floor you are met by a reception desk where you will be asked if you want a 1 hour massage. you will be offered either standard room rp150k (no shower) deluxe room rp175k (private shower) or vip room rp200k shower, tv etc.

other features of most spa’s are found here. hot and cold plunge pools, bar and video lounge.

therapists are randomly offered by their number. you can describe the type you want and hope for the best.

full service is a rp300k tip given to the therapist.

of the girls i saw and had they were quite attractive. the service was very good. massage was excellent.

if you are staying in the hotel you can order a private massage to your room. price for the massage is rp150k. the room rate is about rp400k

Here's a partial repeat from the main Jakarta thread.

I moved out of the IC, and tried out the Red Top Hotel, next to one of my favorite restaurants, Golden Kitchen. A couple of weeks ago, I had checked it out when a another forum member was looking for a room. They had a package with breakfast and dinner for two, plus internet for 690k net.

Checking out dinner with a friend, we were given a paltry menu of just a few 20k meals at the restaurant downstairs. No drinks, no appetizer, no dessert. A big thumbs down. At least the breakfast the next day was passable.

Overall the hotel is decent, but this package deal kind of sucks, mainly because of the dinner option. They also want 1 million deposit, and some of their liquor prices in the minibar are astronomical. 148k++ each for the little 50ml bottle of spirits. Since I got about 30 of these free from the IC, maybe my perception of cost if skewed. :)

The hotels closeness to Lokasari, Kartika and Hotel Travel is nice, and the great Super Chicken (err, Super Kitchen) resto next door is great for duck, pork and a limited amount of dim sum.

I use it a few years back when I had a Biz ticket to BKK. It was middle of the road. Not on par with the SQ lounge or such.
