There was a chain of places in Jakarta called "Cinq a Sec". They used to turn around my dry cleaning and laundry in the same day. Not as cheap as some options, but definitely cheaper than the hotel. Unfortunately, I don't remember the location of any of them, but I am sure you can look it up.

I'm no white guy, but haven't notice that. It seems that you don't understand that it's all about money. White guys means money in their perception, so make it obvious that you're able to spend.

I would say that that is misleading information! If you have RTFF correctly, you will find that the reports say that many girls that work BATS and TIGAPULUH (the bars in the mentioned hotels) start in Blok M for the 300K, move to the mentioned bars and quote 800 or even more and some of them will end the night in jalan Jaksa for <300K or in the disco's in Kota for the same price or even less when E is part of the deal.

Like I wrote, it is about their perception. "A bulai is loaded" and if you show you're on that same level, no problem at all.
MDII was relating about his internet activities. So his targets can't judge his pattern of spending. Believe me, that when the girls experience him in real life, they flock around him too. Any kind of girl, pro's or non-pro's (read his FR's)! OK, he's got the looks too, but it didn't help him in all those attempts when internetting.
This situation reminds me of what happened when Bulai69 and I were mall- hunting in Plaza Senayan in the past. I spotted a girl sitting with some friends at a table next to our's. After exchanging glances she gestured that one of her friends will drop a piece of paper with her cellphonenumber when passing our table. After I got her number she gestured to call her in the evening.
I called her later that day and one of the first things she said was that as a matter of fact she was interested in B69. I asked her why and she said: "well he's a bulai and that means, he's got money". And, "could I ask B69 to call her?" "No problem", I said and called B69 to tell him what happened. B69 then called the girl and during their conversation, told her that I'm the one with the money. As soon as he hung up, the girl called me to meet!
Money makes the world go round and girls willing.
BTW, have you been to the places in Kota in the northern part of Jakarta? One might say, that the girls there prefer non-bulai's ;)

This preference for white men is found all over SE Asia. Especially among well to do women of the respective well-visited countries Philippines, Thailand.
With that being said I will not be the first and I won’t be last black guy to visit Indonesia.
First I thought my black skin was a detriment in SE Asia but I have noticed the odd girl or so in PI and Thailand staring when I am not looking… then looking away when I look at them because they are curious….old white guys are a dime a dozen so I am something different. Also do you hear black expats complaining of being victims of crime as much? Where is the racism in Indonesia thread? :D
Guys I will be in town in June I promise a full report for all the non-whites who are looking past the well beaten paths of Philippines and Thailand.

I have to admit that it is not common, but there are enough examples. Think of the African soccer players in the Indonesian league!
So why is it not common? In the first place the girls pro's and non-pro's are afraid of the black man's size. In the second place, the mayority of the foreign narco-trafficantes in Indonesia is of African origin.
But, I still do not agree with the rest of Lust's conclusion about the Chinese or Indian in Indonesia.
