I'll be returning to Medellin in October for my second time and despite all the talk about how run down and overpriced the Hotel M (mansion) is, it's security and convenience was so good last time that I've booked them again. This time I'll do a day trip to Guatape since I didn't have enough time last trip. It looks fairly easy enough to get to via bus and back plus I'm assuming that Guatape is too small and touristy to have any mongering action (please correct me if I'm wrong) so I'll opt not to stay overnight there. I've already done Parque Arvi as well as Comuna 13 so I guess there's nothing else that interesting from a tourist point of view left in Medellin during the daytime hours except the odd casa visit for us mongers.
Guatape has some really cool hotels with views, so usually when I go (overnight), I take a girl with me. I usually stay at Hotel LOS Recuerdos where I get the top room overlooking the rock, it's an amazing all glass room (at a reasonable price) with hot tub and everything. Check it out on Booking. They have other pretty awesome rooms. The negative thing about Guatape, is it does close up early. So, you want to go really early to be able to enjoy the town during the day, get dinner, and buy some alcohol to enjoy the evening with your 'girlfriend' in your room.
That certainly is a consideration but it would have to be somebody I really gel well with (or maybe even one of the girls I met last trip). Also she would have to be able to climb up all those 750 or so steps up that big Rock in Guatape.
As long as they bring the right shoes most of the girls from Medellin could climb those stairs without breaking a sweat. If the take the metro they likely climb that much pretty well every day. In any case they are a lot more able to do that than 95% of their gringo customers.

First time October 2021 and second time in Feb 2023. It's not that hard to make it to the top. Stopping for a water or beer at that little souvenir shop at the 3/4 mark always helps tho LOL.
I will list the following that I have personally stayed at and taken girls to:
1) Hotel Selis. Great hotel, 1 block from the west end of Lleras Park. Be sure to get a room facing the street and not at the back of the hotel, otherwise you'll be hearing club music till 4-5 AM and it'll be a rough time getting to sleep (if that's a goal). Great views from the high floors on the street side. They will charge $100 k COP to take a girl up, approximately $25 USD. The first one for me has always been free. Sometimes they don't charge me either, not sure why, but just take a copy of her ID and send us up. Great guys who work the front desk and the cleaning ladies do a great job and are super nice as well.
2) Hotel Nakua - 1 block from Provenza, up the hill, just off Calle 10 - also great hotel, with great mattresses, nice views, especially from the high floors. Always charge for guests, always take and confirm IDs, always make sure you're safe before letting the girls leave. Front desk guy, I forget his name, is super cool, I've had lots of good conversations with him. Deep voiced security guy is also great.
3) Torre Poblado Apartasuites. Most recent place I stayed. Interestingly, they only charged me for 1 guest of the 3 I took up. She was the second one on the same day, which may be the reason, but honestly I'm not sure, because I took 2 up on Sunday afternoon and they didn't charge me for either one. So YMMV.
4) Hotel Lleras 10 - right on Calle 10,1 block from Lleras park west entrance on Calle 10 - Confirmed in person with the front desk girls that the hotel does not charge for guests, and you can bring as many as you want. The girls at the front desk told me that *every* guest has to have a current passport (foreigners) or Colombian ID for guests. They will take and retain a copy of the ID for all guests, but told me no charge and I can bring as many as I want. I didn't see the rooms, but online says they're basically just OK. If anyone can confirm, that'd be handy info.
5) Lleras Garden Hostel. Nice, small, boutique type hostel / hotel. On busy nights, basically Thurs. Sunday nights, they do rent their rooms short time to punters. You show up with your girl, they take copies of all of them, send you to the room for $40 k, I think, for up to 2 hours. They also rent rooms on a long term basis, and I would stay there. Supposedly there's no cost to have guests when you're a long term hotel guest, but I did not confirm that.
There's also several others in and around Lleras that allow guests. I am not sure why the ones you contacted stated that they don't when even a nearly new "co-working" hotel in Laureles (Factory Lofts) has a guest policy that beyond the first checked guest, you have to pay an additional charge of $100 k COP per guest. And they are FAR from the hot spots for working girls.
In short, every hotel I've stayed in so far has allowed them, either explicitly in their policy, or just take the photocopies of the IDs and charge you a fee when the girls show up, so basically not outright stating that it's allowed, but permitting it nonetheless.
Best of luck and have fun!!
Hello,
I am going to Medelland for first time. I called few hotels and they don't allow girls. Is there a nice hotel near parque llearas that allows girls? In Panama, hotels allowed for a $20 fee. Please help.

Can you elaborate?
I couldn't validate any of this so I have no idea if it's true or not, simply that 2 separate girls mentioned it to me as we talked and one other girl agreed when I explicitly asked her about it. So take this with a grain of salt because I can't find any info and they didn't give me the actual address. I was just surprised that the girls all seemed to know about the place.
Essentially, there is an apartment complex in Centro that the girls claimed is owned by and mostly serves Israelis. They said that a lot of the guys there are known to go after and traffic in minors and really young working girls. Additionally, it seems the punters are forcefully pushing girls they pick up, either in Lleras or Centro, to take hard drugs like heroin and meth. One of the girls was asked by a friend to join a group of girls who were being set up to a group of travelers in that hotel. She was told to say she was 16 (she was 20 at the time) and that a guy got violent with her when she didn't want to shoot up heroin with him. Another girl claimed that apartment also has a connection to some Colombian gangs that operate in the area.
The vagueness surrounding the allegations is concerning but it's hard to discount "firsthand" testimony that is seemingly corroborated by individual girls. It's also hard to say whether it's a systemic thing or just a couple of sick fucks who need to be put down. It would be great to actually get some confirmation from other girls that other mongers can ask, but I just consider it now being a case of individual bad actors. Personally, I'd like to just believe it's all hearsay and fiction because it would really suck if that's the case. But Medellin being the way it is, who knows?

Thanks for the elaboration. I'm going to ask around when I'm down there.
Israelis historically do have quite a reputation trafficking and pimping young girls, eg Zwi Migdal group operating in 19th century (back then it was poor girls from Europe trafficked to South America).
"Prostitutes who failed to satisfy their clients were beaten, fined, or sent to work in rural houses. Every business transaction was logged. The ruffians held a "meat market" where newly arrived girls were paraded naked in front of traders in places such as Hotel Palestina and Cafe Parisienne. These activities went on undisrupted because government officials, judges, and journalists frequented the brothels. City officials, politicians, and police officers were bribed. The pimps had powerful connections everywhere. The largest brothels in Buenos Aires housed as many as 60 to 80 sex slaves.
The organization lured girls and young women from Europe in several ways. Pindel describes one ruse in which a well-mannered and elegant-looking man would appear in a poor Jewish village in Poland or Russia. He would advertise his search for young women to work in the homes of wealthy Jews in Argentina by posting an advertisement in the local synagogue. Fearful of pogroms and often in desperate economic circumstances, parents would send their daughters away with the man, hoping that this might offer them a fresh start.
Another popular ruse was to find pretty girls and marry them, usually in a quick wedding ceremony known in Yiddish as a "shtille chupah". The girls bade their families farewell and boarded ships to Argentina, believing that they were on their way toward a better future. The rape of the girls and abuse as sex slaves often started on the ship. Some of them were married off to local men so that they could obtain entry visas."

Does drugs (no idea what ones), likes young girls, and hangs with the drug dealers that hang in the alleyway on the side of the church. Most of the foreigner "rats" do not like him at all. One guy in particular likes just about everyone BUT that Israeli guy so that says something. I hate the guy too. Pretty sure he is there illegally. If what the girls says is true it will eventually blow up and make ALL foreigners look bad. If I was there I would have a local make a certain "complaint". I know he is in on it one way or another.

I ride the metro often. I'm tired when I get to the top of the steps, but I always make it. More than five years ago, I went to the top of the rock. I had to stop a number of times to get there. I was over 70 years old at the time. I will agree that it was much easier for my lady friend, but she was in her 20's.

They're in their 20's and it's a lot more fun than climbing the metro platform.
My God, this is a nightmare scenario. I will say that I meet quite a few Israelis around town. I don't know that any of them are involved in this sort of stuff.

Its just that if you are going up and down 3 to 5 stories using the metro platforms day after day you will be in much better shape for climbing than the average gringo. And when I walk from the Poblado metro station up to Parque Lleras, as I generally do, I do notice that after a week or so it gets a lot easier and after a few weeks I forget that it is uphill. And most of the locals walking up at the same time don't seem to notice that it is uphill either. But I know very few gringos that will even do that walk and there are lots that couldn't even if they wanted to. After a month or so of that the El Penol isn't as bad, although I did stop for a break a couple of times for sure.
I'll be solo traveling in December or January for a week as a first time visitor. My street smart is eh. For those who frequent lleras park (or really anywhere), do you always invite the girls you want back to your own room or find a short stay hotel to walk to? I'm reading some of you follow the girl to a hotel she recommends which to me seems like there's a possibility of a set up.
I was watching a few videos at this park and there's either dozens of women just standing around looking lost along that I'm thinking are workers, especially if they have BBLs bigger than a pregnant woman's stomach.
Can you elaborate?
What I heard from a girl is more positive. That there is a apartment / private-bar run by Israelis that girls go to hangout and meet guys and operates similar to the Mansion (Hotel M) bar. Girl who told me said she has been, and it was packed and fun. She plans to go back. But I have no first-hand knowledge of the place or where it is.

By mid-January things calm down (after Three Kings Day). Being your first time visit, you may want to check out the bar at Hotel M (aka The Mansion) where girls are ID-checked prior to entry. I'd also find a calm hour or two and skim back 200 posts in this forum. That will give you insight and knowledge that you may critically need to insure a safe good time.
