Why anyone would pay for a guide to take him to the Rio termas scene. But hey, it's your money, and who am I to tell you how to spend it? But we were all newbies once, and IMHO a newbie to the Rio scene does not need a guide to tell him how to find the termas, or even the prives. I never used a guide, and I'm sure that the overwhelming majority of mongers didn't either. What I did use, extensively, was this thread. Bubba Boy's guide provides precise information as to the names and locations of all the termas and how to get there, and even if Bubba's guide had never been written, as it hadn't when I first mongered here, there would still be ample information for the newbie. There are also myriad posts on what to do when you get to the termas, e. G, the robes, the boites, etc, and there are numerous reviews of the termas so that a newbie should be able to tell in advance which are the ripoffs (e. G. Centaurus) and which are the dumps (e. G. Vila Mimosa). So if you want to avoid wasting money that could be much better spent, the best course for a newbie would be to RTFF and not to hire a guide. Just my two cents worth.

Its a good investment to give you the confidence to head back out there on your own armed with Bubba's and Sperto's guides.

Just like Calculus and Physics class my first year in college. Did I really need my professors when all of the examples were right there at the beginning of each chapter? They can show you a lot of tricks to the trade that it might take you quite some time to learn when venturing out on your own. They can also save you a lot of time being that you won't be attempting to reinvent the wheel. They can connect your two points with a line instead of the roundabout polygon that you would undoubtedly have made not knowing any better. My first couple of times in Rio Owen showed us around everywhere from Help to Vila Mimosa and soon we became very familiar with everything and no longer needed him. To me those times were very valuable and I wouldn't trade them for anything. And he never asked for a set fee. I just remember us shooting him about R20 each at the end of the trip.

For me, a big part of the fun is in the adventure of finding many of the answers to the equations on my own. But, I don't like to leave everything up to chance either. So, do RTFF. Do your research. Develop an understanding of the basic theorems and formulas. Ask informed questions. Then go out and explore, experience, and enjoy! Learn from your mistakes and share some of those lessons. And realize that your own personal experiences are no less legitimate than anybody else's. I've never used a guide (paid or unpaid) on a mongering trip, but I suppose that I can kind of see it for somebody who doesn't have any overseas experience whatsoever. However, absolutely not for seasoned overseas travelers. And, you can learn a lot after only a few trips to various places. I just thank God that I'm a hell of a lot better monger than mathematician!

I only went once and once was enough. Not my cup of tea! I, however, did go with Owen. Owen is a good guide, honest and trustworthy. Unlike some others, Owen is willing to work for his pay. He doesn't ask for handouts. Although I don't need his services, I always give him a little change when I see him because he is a good person.

Went past there tonight. Completely closed as the poster below said. Also saw a few of the 4x4 girls at other places around the city. I visited 10 prives and 5 termas tonight didn't really find anything to knock this cowboys boots off.

How much did you pay your guide and how long ago was the trip?

Located in Rio Branco in Centro, Building # 156, and located in 3320.

I was in the mood for a coroa type of gdp today, and I decided to go to several prives to see what was available. I had been to Dudas a couple of weeks ago, but the majority of the gals were occupied, so I did not partake. But this time around I saw a blonde from the Northern part of brazil. In her thirties, and she looked somewhat slutty. So I rolled the dice and it was a good session. Not a great one, but a good one.

I place, and the girls are decent, and so was the service. However, I highly suggest that if you do decide to take a girl into the cabina in this place, make a point of clearing up when the start time of your hour or 40 minutes takes place. I had already read about someone getting shortchanged on the time in the cabina. I paid 100R for the hour. I was very aware of the time the garota came into the room. I did not take a shower before the seesion cause I had already taken one before heading to Centro. So its not as though I used some of the hour I paid for to take a shower. After about 35 minutes, I release my load. So I get talking a bit with this gal. About 5 minutes later, the phone rings. I say " whats that about?" She says that its to inform us that their are 10 minutes remaining. I gave this gal a look like saying " yOU GUYS ARE FULL OF SH*T"

I told her, that was wrong! I didn't plan on going for another round becuase I had already shot a load earlier in the day, so I was already somewhat tired.

I didn't really say anything about the topic, we continued talikng about other things. A few minutes later, I went to go take a shower, got dressed, and didn't bother going back to the cabina. I headed straight to the receptionist (light skinned black girl) and informed her that this would be the last time I visit the casa, and I plan on telling all of my friends, particularly my brasilian one's about the dumb ass phone call to warn someone of a 10 minutes left, when in reality there was 20 left. I specifically told her that this was not a fluke because I had already been warned about htis problem in this particular casa. She gave me the surpised look, which I sarcastically gave back to her.

I really enjoyed this casa during the summer of 2010, cause they had some hot looking girls there, and the service was pretty darn good. Plus, no problems with management. Its a darn shame its now being a pain with clients. Good luck and beware if you decide to go there.

Since this has been posted a couple of times I thought I would give a go at translating it for those who don't speak Portuguese.

By order of MP, police close termas in City Center.

The termas Four x Four, at Rua Buenos Aires 44, in the city center, was closed on Friday night, while open and operating (at full steam). Around 10:0 pm, the Deputy delegate of the 5th DP, Roberto Johan Leal, arrived at the business (house) with agents to comply with an order (determination) of the public prosecutor, which denounced the existence of the activities of prostitution and drug trafficking.

The first complaint was confirmed and Rozilda Batista da Silva, who presented herself as responsible for the business (house), was arrested in front of everyone (flagrantly). She was taken to the Prison Complex at Bangu. If convicted, she could be sentenced to from two to five years in prison, in addition to paying a fine.

At the business, were also seized R$18,426 in cash, four debit/credit card machines and three computers. Opened 11 years ago, the business (house) became famous after being included in the lyrics of the funk song "Adultery," by Mr. Catra.
