As for daytime, no unescorted girls can come by & hang out hoping to catch a customer so things are much quieter in the daytime, much less fun. You still get breakfast included, security is good & is a quick walk to Ave. Poblado with lots of shopping & restaurants.

I also see them on the menu in regular restaurant as steak. I think the black steak from El Correo is solomito, and oddly it is the least expensive item on their menu.

You will come across a butcher shop with restaurant if you walk down Cr 47 A in Sabaneta. I only know how to get there on foot, and don't know the name but you are unlikely to miss it. The reverse is Madurando near Provenza. It is a steak house that serves dry-aged steak and you can buy it to cook at home. Surfer mentioned it a few times. The other one is Biftek in Laureles. It is kind of new and I never bough meat from here yet. They prepare the steak using a barrel grill.

Based on my observation, there are 3 types of meat places here. Steak house that most of us are familiar with, llanera which I think is a style that meat is cooked vertically thru indirect heat. The 3rd kind is the ones that is cooked on a griddle that is common seen on the street. This meat quality is the worst and least expensive.

My goodness I've been reading complaints about this place for a good 15 years now. At one time there was a section of this website dedicated to it. Maybe it's still here. I feel like this post from Humble Hal is the definitive information anyone would need to decide how important it is and how much they are willing to pay to hang around other gringos.

I know girls from barrios like Manrique who also hate to go to El Centro and only visit when they absolutely have to. A girl I know tells me she always walks quickly, aware of her surrounding all the time, always feeling like somebody might try to rob her. If you ask a local, they all know somebody who at least got robbed in El Centro or worse. Most of the times it actually even happened to themselves. Sure, it can happen anywhere in Medellin, el Poblado isn't 100% safe neither but El Centro obviously is way higher risk, even during the day. So definitely not a place to recommend to newbies IMHO.

Found a MILF street girl, spent 30 minutes fucking her for 50 k, spent about 30 minutes looking at the art in the Botero refractory museum, then fucked another younger street girl before heading back to the hotel. As long as you stick to that main plaza and the streets nearby where all the pros are, I think you're fine during the day. Too crowded to get mugged out in the daylight like that (but just in case keep your phone and wallet in your front pocket, ie use common sense).

I was there last night early evening. Everything seems to be back to normal. Girls out in force. There were a number of young pretty girls hanging around along with the usual number of unattractive girls standing around. The bars and restaurants were busy and everyone sees to be having a good time.

I did not sense any "gringo go home" vibe at all.

Not a website, but some girls do share info on WhatsApp on their bad experiences with guys. This information includes whether the client was weird, smelled, cheap or just plain ugly.

I don't blame these girls. When they go out on a call they are taking a chance. Lots of creeps looking for sex because they can never get laid in the USA or wherever they are from.

I think you meant to quote reply to a different post. I will say that I find Crepes and Waffles to be an underwhelming watered down version of American casual dining chains like Cheesecake Factory and Chilis. Its competitive advantages here in Colombia are relatively low cost, predictability, and reliable table service.

They have been partying late Saturday night and they want to relax and spend time with family. If you have to pick a day to take a break, Sunday is the best day. Now that the NFL football season will be starting, plenty of games to watch on Sundays. You can still find girls on Sunday but the numbers will be much lower.

The chance you get mugged there during daytime is lower than in El Poblado (debate me on this if you wish). Centro is packed with people on weekdays, there might be pick pockets, but violent attacks don't happen in centro when streets are packed with everyday people. I am more worried when I a walking down a quiet st in Poblado because thugs can get off their motos and rob me at ay time.

About 2-2. 5 years ago around noon I was sitting on a bench and I hear a THUD. People started gathering in front of the hotel in front of "The Church" at Botero. A local either jumped or was thrown out of the 3rd floor but no screamor yelling on his way down. He was alive. Not sure if he was alive later that night. Have you read about the foreigners that oddly visit Medellin and within a day or two jump out their hotel window from a high level floor? Not the best example. I can do better.

About 2-2. 5 years ago 1:00 pm weekday on a sunny day. People everywhere. My pick of the day and I walk to the ST hotel on the side of "The Church" where the glass floor is. We get a window room and about 10 minutes later we hear screaming. We finish and look out the 3rd floor window. A local who was sitting on one of the two cement benchs was laying on the glass floor in a puddle of blood the size of a basketball. When we got down and outside we asked what happened. The guy was stabbed in the neck. No idea if he lived or not.

Same area in front of Hotel Calle Real on Christmas Day 2023 at 11:00 am I see a lady in her 40's arguing with some guy in his 40's for 10 minutes with a rock in her hand. Nothing happened but damn on Christmas Day.

Same cement bench with glass floor the Day after New Years 2023 around noon. I see a 25-30 year old local black want to-be trying to talk to every black guy that walks by. I leave and return 15 minutes later. That fool did something to piss off some local lady in her 40's. She took a broken bottle and sliced his arm and cut his shirt. Maybe needed a few stitches. The police were arresting him and putting him into their van.

Cucuta sunny day around 2:00 pm half a block from Mercedes Parque with people everywhere. I get jumped for my phone and top of my head bleeding. They got the phone before I got brain damage. Good news. Within 10 minutes I had my phone back. They ran. I followed. Police saw them running and knew they did something. I caught up with them and had a phone back one block away from where it was taken. I admit it. I F-ed up on that and was my fault.

During the pandemic I stayed in that ST hotel (Botero Real) in front of the glass floor before it became ST only hotel. Second floor window room for 2 months. Saw a lot. You guys have no idea.

What did I learn? Yelling means a fight or robbery. Screaming means there is blood or soon to be blood. You are never safe and NOBODY WILL GET INVOLVED TO HELP YOU!

Noise is a factor when selecting a place to stay. There are a number of hotels close to the action but that also means noise from the nightclubs can be a factor. Now if you are partying all night at the clubs then it is not a big deal. Like most of Latin America, the locals like their music at two volumes: loud and louder.

It is possible that some of the hotels have windows that block the noise but it is more likely that it is not the case.

Now when I was staying at the San Peter apartments, there was noise coming from that nightclub next door but it might also have been noise coming from the bar downstairs. Now I have been told that the rooms higher up are better but I was in the lower part with the noise. Last night I saw that the hamburger place now has tables outside and they had a DJ blasting music on the sidewalk with the speakers facing the building so that probably doesn't help with the noise issue.

It is just a factor to consider when choosing a place to stay. There are also a number of comments on Airbnbs about places that are noisy. If you are picking a place close to the action, you should research the noise issue unless you will be up late at night on your trip.
