Have you been any of these places before and after?
You are mistaken. Neither Loutron nor La Isla has "reduced services" to other places,
Before pandemic at La Isla, I got a table and a waiter when I bough any drink. After pandemic, standing room only when I bought a drink. I give you this example because you can not say this is YMMV. I wrote report about it. Just read the reports on these two places. There are many new people just accept what is provided and the indirect result is the girls can do business without providing the services that more demanding customers want.
I was in a steak restaurant in El Poblado a few weeks ago. Everyone on that table next to me ordered either burger or fried chicken. They were talking about the deal they got with the girls in dollar.
The apple that is sold in Extito usually is the same quality in every Exito. The apple that is sold in El Centro,is different from what is sold in Exito. If I have a million dollar, I would not want to go to Extio to pay more to buy the apple sold in El Centro market. I failed to understand your analogy. To me, this is a minor point to argue about regardless who is right.
Rapido report. Terrible immigration wait time at Medellin
Just finished a weeklong tour of Medellin. Arriving in the evening has become a nightmare. They still have just three immigration officers for visitors, took god damn one hour and 45 minutes to clear the immigration. Medellin number of incoming tourists have sky rocketed but for their immigration dept. It is still 2010.
Didn't bother with Parque Lleras this time but casas were good enough.
Zandalay was a disaster - 7-8 chicas on most days, all of them roadkill.
New Life was much better this time, about 20-30 girls, 3-4 do-able for me. 70 + propina for media hora. Gets lots of loud, big guys from USA.
Sexy Amigas was a let down this time, they used to be ebst. Had about 10-12 girls, one or two old timers still the best.
Armonia was the start this time, had 12-20 girls mostly. About 5+ do-ables.
One new thing I noticed this time around is that all casa chicas have ganged up and refuse to accept below 50 K propina. They just don't budge. Some girls in Armonia won't kiss at all, something I have almost never ever experienced in my life all over the world. So what used to be a good deal for 60 + 20 K last year is now 70 + 50 minimum.
The centro scene was as usual, mostly road kill but a gem here and there if you look hard enough.
Speaking Spanish, or at least making the attempt
This is to all the gringos. I see roving groups of dudes walking the streets of poblado, lleras, etc. We have all seen the groups of gringos in Colombia.
There was a discussion earlier in this thread about how speaking Spanish won't prevent bad shit happening to you, and it devolved into a silly semantic argument about how crime occurs anywhere. And locals are victims of crime too and they are locals who speak the language!
Yeah, being almost fluent in Spanish, I can 100% say that your chances of getting in a bad situation drops greatly. People who make an attempt to fit in are not going to become a victim of something versus the entitled a-hole gringo getting wasted and treating the country like it's their frat house.
The entitled gringo attitude is disgusting and needs to be called out. I witnessed a rude gringo talking to a waiter like he was a child.
The guy had his translation app open and it said "I want cappuccino not with americano but with espresso" - confusing, poor wording.
The waiter was like "You want cappuccino with an extra shot?
Dude immediately was impatient and condescending "NO, I don't want an americano I want a cappuccino with espresso and not americano".
Basically he thought they would make an americano with milk and pass it as a cappuccino I guess? Who knows it was a pathetic scene.
I see them paying for food on the street in Provenza, yelling at the people that they want to pay US dollars, and they're telling him "we only take pesos or credit card" while the gringo has a wad of 20's spilling out on the counter like a fool. "WHAT? I have dollars you don't take cash?
Bro where do you even come from?
The people in Colombia are mostly patient, give good service, and make an attempt to meet you more than halfway, and these entitled little men are barely making an effort, getting wasted, taking zero interest in the culture other than cheap food drinks and women.
Learn the basics, learn how to say the touristy things, stop making Americans look stupid and ignorant. Humble yourself when you are in a foreign nation.
If a local with criminal intent in their heart is watching this scene, they're not going to pick someone who speaks with a little respect and knows the language, they are going to go after the idiots who don't know how to act, and think they own the place.
These guys were walking marks with a cloud of entitled ignorance surrounding them.
