Just checking to make sure you got the taxi price right. You paid 270p for the short ride of several kilometers from airport to Pasay Victoryliner?
Price Seems way too high.
Shark
That is what I paid. The fixed price stand quoted me P330. I was also in terminal 2 which adds a few km to the trip.
The yellow taxis are probably twice the price as the white taxis (on the meter) bot I couldn't find one. The P270 is about $6, so I am not really sweating the $2.50 difference!!

Legalize
The right way to manage the area is to legalize and contain the area to one place. Use the added revenues to provide better service and facility for the locals and their areas.
To say that it's an entertainment district is a government and a peoples in denial. No one will believe this lie. No one. No one. No one.
Corruption is bad. Corruption within an illegal industry is very bad. When it involves multiple agencies, the shit hits the fan!
I am just a visitor, I don't live in Angeles.
You neighbors and owners have got to stand up together. They are more afraid than you if you group together, because corruptors never want the spotlight anywhere near them. And they will not shut the place down. Too
Much money is being made by too many people.
That's my opinion as an outsider. Get your torches and March the street.

March the Streets
Not literially. I mean build a stronger merchants association. Fight for building a better Angeles, fight for better protection for the "girls, " fight corruption.
Fight for the dignity and protection of sex workers! The area's greatest asset. I'm reading reports of false arrest and prison without food. That's bullshit!
Talk about (dis)respecting your customers. 3 of us are in Genesis bar. After a number of drinks, lady drinks and a bucket of pingpong balls (sorry, I had to do it the one time) it's time to pay the bill. I add up the chits, it's 1250 pesos. Waitress couldn't do the math in her head (or pretended to be unable to) and takes chits away. She comes back and says it's 1250 p. I give her 1500 p. She comes back with 150 p in change on the tray. I am like WHAT THE FTUCK!!!
I call the waitress over.
I ask: "what is the total?"
She mumbles something, I can't remember what.
I ask again: "what is the total?"
She mumbles some more stuff.
I ask again (in a raised voice): "what is the total?"
She says she will go check, and disappears before I can say anything else.
She comes back with the proper amount of 250 p of change. I whisper gently in her ear that there was no need for this, I was going to tip her a proper amount anyway. I also told her, if they feel the need to rip me off, I will tip absolute nothing, and never come back to the place. I end up leaving her 150 p in tip, which is more than the 100 p they were going to rip me off for. Waitress tells me, it's not her fault, the cashier handles the change. I tell her bullshit, I deal with her, not the cashier. I tell her to tell the cashier I am not happy (which is all BS of course).
Yeah and everytime...even if its a mistake it always ends in their favor..we are always shortchanged....I don't understand what frame of mind they operate on....who the hell they think we are 10 year old kids :)...man it spoils the whole night...the worst thing is ...they have no shame you caught them red handed...and we go on and on about Asians losing face ( im asian by the way) they will pull the trick on the next guy who comes after you....atleast they could have said sorry...earlier i used to get angry and disgusted...now all i have is pity...i feel sad for the state of mind they are on....no soul left

I'm glad you got the right change, but not sure if tipping like that was a good thing. Not trying to start a flame war, but that's a pretty damn nice tip for a waitress.
The right way to manage the area is to legalize and contain the area to one place. Use the added revenues to provide better service and facility for the locals and their areas.
That may be correct, but politically, not achievable. Eg it might be the right thing in the US and Australia, but politically..."hah!"
To say that it's an entertainment district is a government and a peoples in denial. No one will believe this lie. No one. No one. No one.
LOL. Look no further than the recent health debate in the US. One side or the other had to be in complete and utter denial. So, arguably in the USA, half the country had to be in denial about a fundamental issue in their lives. That is with a very sophisticated array of knowledge options available to the US populace. What chance then of a relatively minor issue to most people (such as prostitution) getting a logical hearing. Denial yes, but we are all guilty of it. Also, I did not mean to pick on the USA - every country has issues which divide, and half the population are in denial on those issues.
Also, can you imagine that the US Government would provide that 'strings attached' aid if the Philippine Government legalised the area?

angeles city
Sorry, not a joke at all. Although the article from Freezone is not complete, I did read the entire thing and it was serious business with other things being mention like spread of disease and condom use , sex education and all that.
So, yes the BS continues in AC.
Shark
I did not read all the information on this. I live in Angeles but in Thailand right now.
I do talk to a doctor that is good friends with the mayor of Angeles.
Most my girls get hygiene by my own doctor.
He says there is a problem with hygiene and its a major problem.
Something like 40% of the girls have some kind of std.
And I believe him as the girls I bring in before banging there are a good number with problems so I do not even with condom.
Also there is something about USA involvement but I did not get details
He says it is country wide and not just angeles with the health problem now
-
Angeles City attacks?
Heard from friend just now of a shooting in front of Swagman Hotel and at the Marquee Mall?
Not sure of details. I started to search here but am in Thailand and don't have time to search until tomorrow. If anyone can shed more information? Of the details or tell me any date that it is reported on this board?
I do try to keep current here but get busy and I got my girls to take care of tonight
Hahahaha
Sounds like an excuse?
Be carefull out there

Cherry
I think its mens primitive mentality that somehow cherry girls are special that makes all this scam go around. When I was in India. All I wanted was to fuck a cherry girl before I die. I was hardcore on it.
Came to PH and luckily had a date with a normal office going cherry girl and while having sex. It was a very painful experience for her. I had to be extra careful not to hurt her. Penetrate it very slow as she screamed in pain. Blood stain was all over the sheet. She refused to do any other position than mish. Finally I could only insert half and could not fuc* her as I normally do.
It was an emotional experience for both of us. Not at all an enjoyable sexual conquest that I thought it would be.
My heart sank seeing the pain she has to go through and relating my ego boost to f**c a cherry girl. Nature is really cruel I thought and we men make it worst sometimes.
My point is. Its not worth the hype. There is no real sex as you would do. Only an experience to boost your ego that you fucked a cherry girl. I have stopped my conquest then and there itself. No more see girl for me. If she comes along the way then fine. But I will never ever go after a cherry girl.
Well not blaming anyone. As I guess every man is programmed that way to go after fresh meat
I like what you say because yes I love the idea of cherry girls. No one else has fucked them and they are all mine. Hahah.
But yes I don't like starfish and I want the girl to enjoy so I go for the more expierenced girls.
But I have had just cherry girls for pure fun in the bar.
And some do really good at pretending.

There are many issues where reasonable minds will disagree.
For the Phils, there are reasonable minds who don't want prostitution to occur. Moral opposition to prostitution is hardly unique to the Philippines.
Yeah and everytime. Even if its a mistake it always ends in their favor. We are always shortchanged. I don't understand what frame of mind they operate on. Who the hell they think we are 10 year old kids. Man it spoils the whole night. The worst thing is. They have no shame you caught them red handed. And we go on and on about Asians losing face (I'm asian by the way) they will pull the trick on the next guy who comes after you. Atleast they could have said sorry. Earlier I used to get angry and disgusted. Now all I have is pity. I feel sad for the state of mind they are on. No soul left
Well, it didn't spoil the whole night for me. It was 100 p. I forgot about it as soon as we hit the next bar. But, yeah, just don't know what the thought process is there.

I was responding to the meaning of 'denial' as used by Turtlehead.
To expand a little. I used the US example of the health debate as it was a clear case where one side had one set of 'interests and views' as you put it, and the other side had a diametrically opposite set of 'interests and views'. That meant that one side or the other had to be wrong and in 'denial'.
Turtlehead's point was that by trying to paint AC as a Las Vegas, the AC mayor was in denial.
My point was that the Mayor was responding to the political reality of 'differing interests and views' as you put it.
So we agree....I think. :)
I am hoping that the Mayor can pull it off and convince the world at large that it is an entertainment area. ;)
I'm glad you got the right change, but not sure if tipping like that was a good thing. Not trying to start a flame war, but that's a pretty damn nice tip for a waitress.
Yeah... before my AC trip I did RTFF, and it seems that tips for waitresses should be in the 5-10% range. I tried to adhere to that, but usually rounded up, so most tips ended up in the 10-15% range. I will try to do better next time. I have a lot of respect for the local expats, and semi-regulars in AC, so I certainly don't want to screw up the market.
One guy also pointed out that tips for bar waitresses should be a bit lower, since all they do is bring your drink over. Waitresses in restaurants deserve a bit more, since there is more work involved.
Anyone like to chime in with comments about how much to tip in what situations?
