This was the shortest and worst trip to Medellin that I have. It was my 12th trip and things came up and forgot to post. I found it while setting up a new laptop. Some folks find them useful and a couple new things came up. So, I will post what happened.
Day 1.
I am coming from west coast SFO. I have tried a few airlines that service Colombia / MDE. My first few trips were with Avianca. I don't like them poor seats, food service and entertainment are poor. The only upside flying Avianca is that it lands into Bogota / BOG. I find that going through customs on "Legacy" or country's leading airline much easier. They go through much of the red tape when you are checking in. It's been 3 years since I have used them. The other airline I used was American. The only benefit I got from therm is that I didn't have schlep up to SFO a 40 minute drive. Instead, It was a 10 minute Uber ride and I could leave my car at home. I also preferred MIA over FLL but that's all. These folks at American overbook on purpose. If you have all of the time in the world upon return you can get flight credits easily. Otherwise, they were always late when returning home. It didn't make sense that MIA was down but FLL was clear for JetBlue.
I settled on JetBlue and have made it to the Mosaic status. They are not even in the ballpark compared to Saudia Airlines.
To make a long story short I missed my 10:30 pm flight. I got a message at 2 pm that my flight would be delayed until 11 pm. Two hors later it was set back to midnight. I did not want to hang out in crappy $3. 30 for a can of soda SFO airport. I got there at 10 pm and could not print my ticket. The problem: the flight was boarding since 10 pm.
Day 2.
Having missed my flight and a full day in Medellin I arrived at the airport MDE and lost my CPAP machine while collecting my luggage. It only took me 10 minutes to get through immigration / customs but I was so stressed. That is what ruined my trip. I was not able to sleep without my machine. I was too tired and off to fuck. The reason that I was there.

Most of the time, the immigration officer doesn't ask where I am staying. When they do ask, I show them the address written on a piece of paper and they look at it then stamp my passport. The last time someone asked, after showing him the address I asked if he had the Check Mig information, and he said he did. Evidently, they are only verifying what is in Check Mig. The last time I went through immigration was October 30,2024.

This is an overall average comparison. Pattaya the girls are more expensive and older. The food everywhere is so much better. Hotels are a little cheaper and cleaner. Much safer. It is a 24 hour city and the only thing to really rarely worry about are drunks which you just stay clear of because they are easy to spot. They have a nice walking sidewalk along the beach. If you like to drink with the guys and really relax then this place is great because you can walk around drunk and not worry about getting robbed or killed like Medellin.
There are 2 bars and a few more if you are in the know. You sit at the bar / stage. Careful the girls do not kick your drink. Girls are dancing right there above you. This was 7 years ago when I went in there. The guy next to me chats the girl dancing above him and she sits down in front of him. I was there in late September, Immigration asked me where I was staying confirming my CheckMig. It only takes 30 seconds to fill out the form.
No big deal to do and makes it easier to thru immigration. You will need it to leave as well, It is checked at the point where you check in at your airlines.
I know because the flight check in staff told me.

When I was posting about Thailand, someone said a WTF why start with football? The answer is it's a significant difference here in Thailand. I find myself missing games because I don't want to stay up in the middle of the night to watch football games. In Medellin, the times are the same so it just makes it much easier to watch football games. If you are a big football fan, this is actually a significant factor.
I also like to trade stocks in the US stock market and once again the time differences make a difference. In Medellin I can monitor the stock market and make trades during normal hours just like in the United States. Here in Thailand, the stock market opens at 9:30 pm And ends at 4:00 am I find it difficult too trade toward the end of the session so I'm just making trades in the beginning of the stock market which isn't ideal.
So for me, the time differences is a significant factor when it comes to the different countries.

Woman Robs Tourists Using "Devil's Breath," A Memory Erasing Drug.
Medellin, Colombia.
A woman accused of robbing tourists with a memory-erasing drug known as Devil's Breath has been arrested by police.
Carolina Meija Montoya, 27, had been dubbed the "Queen of Scopolamine" by police in Medellin, named after the drug she incapacitated her alleged victims with.
Most of the 8 crimes she has been accused of involved foreign tourists. Investigators say she targeted men in a park in the upmarket neighborhood of Medellin famed for its sex tourism called El Poblado. She then invited them to drinks she spiked in hotels and apartments before stealing their belongings while they were unconscious.
The drug she allegedly used is mainly produced in Colombia and comes from the seeds of the borrachero tree. Devil's Breath, also known as burundanga, comes as a fine white powder which is blown into the victim's face or used to spike food or drinks and renders people helpless within minutes.
It disappears from the bloodstream in around 4 hours, meaning it often becomes untraceable before a victim has had time to be tested. In high doses it can be lethal.
Montoya is suspected of making up to £30,000 from each of her alleged crimes. She has been described as one of the leaders of crime gang La Marina, which specialized in drink spiking thefts.
3 alleged accomplices were arrested during police raids in May but she escaped, abandoning a child who was subsequently taken into care. A spokesman for Valle de Aburra Metropolitan Police, which covers Medellin, confirmed overnight, "A woman known as the Queen of Scopolamine has been arrested in Medellin. This 27-year-old woman is allegedly involved in at least 8 cases of theft using chemical substances. "
It also released footage of officers taking her into custody in a leather dress in handcuffs, and a woman thought to be Montoya entering a residential property with a suspected accomplice and one of their alleged victims.
