A quick tip: never select "accept conversion" at the ATM. Always choose "decline conversion. " This morning, I saved about 35 bucks on an approx $480 withdrawal. I took out 2 million COP, and the fee for using a Davivienda ATM was 26,000 COP.

Just a note here, you generally have two options with the Lleras scene.
1) Short time. This is the one hour charge. Essentially, it means you will take a girl back to your place, chat for a short period of time, and get down to business. Expect one to maybe 2 hours of time spent with the girl and 1 pop. You can chat beforehand, but she will eventually nudge you to get moving and do the business. Don't expect multiple shots and don't expect her to stick around very long after your first pop.
2) Long time - "All night", "toda la noche". This is a multi-hour session. She will generally stay all night, or maybe until way early in the morning (to get back home to kids or something. They will stay all night and sleep for a bit if you insist, though). If you let them, the girls may try to wiggle out and leave after the first pop, but I've found that most girls either don't try to leave too early or are don't argue if I request more time. The going rate for an all-night session should be double the hourly rate. If a girl says it's 400 k for an hour, then expect a quote between 700 k-1 million depending on much she thinks she can get you for. I find that most will easily negotiate down to double their short time price.
You should never be paying for a 4 hour session like you would in the US / Canada / West / Mainland Asia, unless you specifically use online escort agencies or massage parlor joints. If you want to extend time, just move from short time to long time, don't bring up an hourly rate extension.

Hey guys came in two days ago and honestly, I don't see what the fuss it about the Colombians hating the gringo's. Now I bet there is some anger towards them, but as a guy who can't speak much Spanish, I have had no issues so far. That said this is my second time here so I know a bit. One thing that has changed is the Facebook girls are mostly unavailable from my experience, they are either out of the country or asking for some outrageous prices. That said the Park is still pretty good with a lot of girls. One thing I will say is that I am not a fan of Heiss Hotel. These guys are acting pretty strict with their visitor policy so be careful of this one. Last time I used Leblon hotel and had no issues. As a gringo, "toda la noche" has served very well in most every south american country and is an easy translation that most non-spanish speakers can remember. But it always goes to show how there are obvious tells to a gringo, even if that person might speak spanish very well or pass in looks.

It comes from the word amanecer meaning to wake up. You may have heard "como amanecio?" in Medellin it means how do you awaken.

All the hookers would say bambinos because the gringos would say bambinos. Bambino is Italian, not Portuguese. (I think the same was happening with the word chicas there.) Brazilians do not normally say that.
I think it is the same with the money. Here in the Philippines the other night I was talking with a girl I knew. I forget what we were talking about, but she was talking in dollars. I asked her why she was talking in dollars and not in pesos. She said because most foreigners do not understand pesos. And I have been told the same by chicks in Colombia. So yes, something may be used quite liberally with gringos, but that is probably more so because they have realized that is what the gringo understands better and not because it is something from their usual lexicon.

It is the same with toda la noche. When you are around the ones that do not come into contact with many gringos, you will hear amanecida, not toda la noche. If you are looking online at ads you will also see amanecida, not toda la noche. Back home we probably would not ask our girlfriends to "come over for all night"; we would ask them to "come spend the night". Subtle, but that is the difference.

But I lived and worked around and played with Colombianas for a solid four years in Central and South America, including Colombia itself, and I don't recall ever hearing or seeing that word. That's a long enough time that I think if it were that common I would recall hearing it used or seeing it written, but I don't (shrugs). By the way, I have never thought someone was trying to rip me off just because they gave me a price in dollars. Of course they're doing it because they're interacting with a foreigner. For me it's never been a problem. Let the buyer beware. And let the buyer know the exchange rates and proceed accordingly!
