What's up with these cab drivers. Asked two different taxi drivers to to take me and my wife to zona rosa last and they both pull up to aqua and mirage. Then they say zona is not safe for an american couple this time of year. We went there last year with a cabby and had no problems. Cabbies must get a good commission from the high priced strip clubs.

Very simply the taxi drivers you had are full of shit, and were trying to rip you off. This bullshit just pisses me off. Next time anyone hears this shit try to get the number of the taxi and the name of the driver, and send it to me in a personal message. Maybe he would even provide you a telephone number, as I will report every one of these sonovabitches to the the taxi union.

Yes, they do get a pretty good commission taking you to the high end stripclubs.

I agree. I would tell the assholes to shut the fuck up and take you to the Zona. Zona is very safe. The clubs in Zona have been around for a while and they like to stay in business. It is highly unlikely that they would tolerate someone harassing a tourist couple.

Don't let the cabbies tell you that the Zona is closed, either: it's open 7 days a week. Also, I have seen couples at El & Ellas. The club is classier than the clubs in the Zona, without the high prices of the top-end, tourist strip clubs. But, I haven't been to El & Ellas in a long time, so I don't know how the talent is these days. You can find the club's location in my posting on Jan. 9th, 2010, in this same Puerto Vallarta message forum. The facade of El & Ellas looks like a cave from Disneyland, with a big wooden door and couple of gorilla statues on top. It is the second of two side-by-side men's clubs you will encounter at that location.

the club is nice inside. On a Friday night two weeks ago, around 11PM there were only two women in the club. The manager saw that we were walking out and came running. He was mad at the few chicas that were supposed to be working, apparently chit chatting in the back. He went in and dragged four more chicas out. One was cute, 20yr old. Well I was back in PV and decided to hit Antorches since last time I went there I ended up with a pretty good sesssion. Well this time was much diffrent and let me tell you guys why. Sir, Antroches (sp?) is the bottom of the barrel for PV. The only reason to go there is to drink cheap beer under a shade and have the chicas ogle you (not the other way around). Blackhawk69 and I did that with few other friends and it was fun. Please don't go there looking for quality. I have been there 5 times and never found someone I would pay money to give me company.

Antorches is just a stop for me on my way in from the airport for a beer and to just checkout the scene, that is it, as I never return there again until my next trip.

Stravaganza as Vitrea pointed out is the only place to go in the Zona Roja. In the past I liked Las Alazenas because I knew people there, but on the last two visits I got ripped off bad from the girls in this place. Last time I paid 3000 pesos for the girls to leave with Exthalmus, our taxi driver friend Rogilio, and myself, only to get the girls back to my condo, and not have them produce. The previous time I had my camera and ring stolen while I was at the hotel Grand Sol. On both of these occasions the owner and manager of Las Alazenas, Chava refused to do anything about it, hence, I will never return there again, and Exthalmus I know will echo that as well. Therefore, Stravganza is the only place that I would recommend anyone to go in the Zona Roja. Also Stravaganza always has the higher quality girls, and it is also a stripclub, where as, Las Alazenas is strictly a whor_ house.
