Hello all,

I am going to Marrakech in late Jan 09 and would like some advice on whether this one particular Riad is a good place to bring girls back to, it is called Riad Slitine and is close to the medina.

Any info is welcome on this place or any other recommended villas to stay, (we are going on a small stag do for the weekend).

Info on good clubs to visit would also be helpfull.

if anybody who knows the area well and will be there around the end of Jan 09 wants to be our guide please feel free to contact me.

Please do not stay in riads in the medina if you want to take girl back at your crib! The medina is an ancient type surroundings where prostitition is not appreciated! Stay outside Medina, where suuroundings are more modern.

I have understood from reading the forum that taxi drivers might help in taking us to good underground basesmant dance floors where young morrocan girls apsaras dance the heavenly laqsa that drain my wallet. There are also brothels where one get fat ugly unhygenic women for 20 dhs, or pick up girls from somebars such as Agda, Balima, but where you end up paying an obscene 1000 Dhms.

Any specific contacts, or suggestions on place to stay and to contacts will be greatly appreciated. Of course, i will also explore and post my experiences.

Its unwise to list any specific contacts in Marrakesh (or for probably anywhere else in Morocco) because, and especially since, the notorious, Belgian journalist 'Servaty' incident, just a few years ago;

Soured relations between Morocco and Belgium. The reason being, of course, that the local police read this website looking for leads, hence the game of checking around for the best basement nightclubs, that, in order to to survive, must migrate almost weekly and are usually located within the Gueliz area.

Much the same logic goes with finding 'girl friendly' Riads. I don't really wish to dampen your ardour! But even if such 'liberal' Riads do exist in Marrakesh and these traditional Riads are located exclusively within the medaieval Medina, then it would be in effect 'shopping' them, to post it here. The 'Menara' one you have mentioned, sounds like its right next to the airport and therefore could perhaps realistically, be a more likely candidate; or as another poster suggested, you could check out the more modern hotels located in the Gueliz area of Marrakesh, rather than waste time on the traditional Riads.

There's also a police crackdown on 'the usual suspects' such as the tourist hustlers, pimps etc that operate mostly in the vicinity of the 'the big square'. J'maal efna, in Marrakesh. However, lets not get too gloomy about a police state! Its clearly not this. But then Morocco is also not a western style democracy either, but a kind of autocratic theocracy. Much the same could be said of alcohol and gambling. There's a sort of limited official tolerance of these pusuits, now usually located/confined in the more western style hotels in modern Marrakesh, despite the general crackdown elsewhere. Just come back from a trip in Marrakech. I went there during the Ramadam. and i can say that it is not the best period for hunting.
Because you will find less girls in discotheque and others will wait Aid to meet you.
So after the ramadam all my contacts getting through some websites come to me.
i have rented an apartement in Gueliz. If the owner asked you to do not bring prostitute at the house avoid this flat.
I met some real gems, whom wanted just to date somebody. the girl on photos is one of that girl. She came at my house after the second date and the reason was obvious.
The girls were not very beautiful but they didn't ask money. even one, who has a car payed me a drink. i just gave them money for taxi.
But you can found beautiful women in discotheque. I went in Monte Cristo in Gueliz and there , there is a lot of prostitutes. Clients are all foreigners , girls are well dress and they speak at least french.
Also some others places are BdN and Mc do Gueliz.
I do no have time to explore local scene, but maybe next time.

Thanks for this. I have found some interesting apartments from the Homelidays site you have provided. Is it safe to say all the Apartments in Gueliz are safe? Or are there ones to avoid.

Just go to club 555 in tangier and you will see Morocco's finest on 300m2, all of them willing to please you for some cash.

Just make sure you have an appartments where you can have that time of your life. And als there are many other clubs there to find these gorgeous Nadia's.

As for the best city, for me it's definitely Tanger althought you can find fun also in Marrakech (but lately apparently it has worsened) , Fes... I have never been in Casa though. Maybe to try. But also I have the prejudice that it is more dangerous and dirty than other cities in Morrocco.
By the way anyone going to Tangiers in november, please PM me to meet there for a drink in a good bar...
