I'm assuming that like many of us male travellers, my handcarry includes what I would call " my bag of tricks". Sometimes its in check in bag, but as I was on my way to Thailand via HK for a short trip, I only took handcarry. Have taken sadi bag thru numerous airports all over world and barely does it register, however HK airport recently, it certainly registered for a further inspection.

Did the normal transit thing in HK airport, and was asked by security to show the contents of my bags. Especially the contents of my bag of tricks. The young man in security opened it and looked and I swear he said " oh whats this ". You will most likely need a local mailing address (and that's probably about it). Other than that, you should have no problem. If you are planning to deposit a large amount there could be an issue.
