I was walking around a little and saw a sign that offered a massage on the 2nd floor and was 3000 for 30min and also had prices for 45min and 60min. I had an itch to scratch and a couple of hours to spare so went over to try the (in)famous Jan Jan (or JanJan, Japanese ジャンジャン ) for the first time. The booths are semi-enclosed spaces with a long upholstered bench seat on one side, and a small corner table. Not exactly private, though until your eyes get used to the dark it's hard to work out what's going on around you. The odd slurping sound is hard to overhear when there is a break in the music though. Every now and again the doorbell dingdongs, and there is a constant stream of announcements along the line "Booth 19, your time is up".You wait for a while, then your assigned attendant comes in with a handful of warm o-shibori (towels), introduces herself (I forget the name, but early 30s maybe, from what I could make out not unattractive), engages in a bit of chitchat, then invites you to remove anything restricting access to your lower half. She takes her top off at the same time (presumably more might be possible, but from a subsequent quick exploratory feel I think the painters might have been in, and did not pursue the matter further). Follow this road straight past a Lawson (to the right of the lawson, there are some semi-decent hotels to use) and you will eventually see the "666" sign on a building on the left. When you get to the 666 building there are 2 curtained entrances, take the right hand one and there should be a few vending machines, ashtrays and three little curtained desks inside. Grimpeur is the furthest desk away and has a sign.Ordering:I did the whole thing in Japanese, and it seemed pretty straightforward. When your there, type in Jan Jan, and Sugimo since that is where Jan Jan is loceated. You'll find Sugimo Station on the Yamanote train line (green color).
