here's a few places that are mid-ranged (girl price and overall price) and generally central downtown. these all feature the games (stripping games) and round-robin lap-dance (topless) at the end of the night. definitely confirm with the mamasan that you talk to because sometimes depending on if they are being raided or if anything is making them nervous around town, they might not always have the nude / topless games.

if you want for sure take homes, definitely make sure you tell the mommy to bring in lineups of specifically those first.

the price ranges for below should break down to:

girl sit-down: 500-600 rmb (the girls will be wearing different colors based on their pricing, so confirm with the mommy)

dj tip (the girl that will stay in the room pouring drinks, cleaning up and working the ktv screen) : 200-300.

mamasan tip: 500 rmb.

towel boy (brings the wet towels in every now and then – hate tipping this guy but oh well) : 100 rmb.

alcohol: we usually do the whiskey and green tea thing. a bottle of say balantines / black label will usually be like 880-980 rmb per bottle. they always have some promo going on, like buy 1 get one free, buy one get next half off, buy 2 get one free. 50% off alcohol. just ask the mommy – just tell them the other places you have gone its usually just 50% off all alcohol.

with 4 guys or so (girls and mommy drinking) we can usually put away 3 bottles or more. beer will be cheaper. so by that example our total shared costs would be (i'll use high numbers) :

1000 (mommy, dj, towel boy tip) + 2000 (whiskey and mixers) = 3000rmb.

so for each of the four guys it'll break down to: 750rmb (3000/4) + 600rmb (girl tip) = 1350 rmb give or take on how thirsty you guys are or if you drink beer / mixed.

if you for sure want a take home girl, best deal is to talk to her in the beginning straight off and work out a lump sum for sit down and take home (short or long). this part is art vs science. if you're prince-mf-charming and she likes the way you look, it can be cheaper. if not, she might quote you more. average is probably 1500 for sit down and short time. when i've paid, i've never had to make a distinction of short / long time – it's usually til morning or if i want to leave early for me. but if you want to make sure you get what you want, you can ask. this will obviously give them the opportunity to quote you higher for a 'long time', but at least you will be getting exactly what you are expecting. if you talk price at the end of the night, they will open you at 1500 to 2000 (again art vs science). picking a for sure take home girl means you will definitely be paying. if you pick a 'regular' girl (they are all hoes in my book) – meaning out of a mixed line-up, you might be able to swing a freebie if the really like you and you are a charm cat.

for the places, try to get there around 7:30pm. 7:00pm is honestly a bit early and not all the girls will be ready (makeup, late arrivals). by 8:30 the selection will start to thin out so for us 7:30 to 8pm is the sweet spot for picking girls.

girl quality is about the same for the below places (and it's subjective) – the places below should have about 150-300 girls (depending on size) per night. although we all have our place preference, for most part the places below are "same same" just nice to have different settings and gene pools to mix things up a bit.

we go to cosmo a lot and this was actually going to be my first recommendation to you guys so i guess shanghai guide concurs with this place. tried and true place for our group – but the others are just as good depending on your location – this place is central for our rep001tered crew so we like it.

if you don't see what you like in the first few lineups, you can ask to go to the 4th floor where the fish bowl is. you are the meat on show there, but you can see almost all the girls as they come in and out of the waiting room and they do their room rounds. must try once =) you can ask at the places below too.

2. xing ding hui ktv.

I know you roll solo sometimes, so give me an idea of what part of town you like to hangout at and I can make some recs for places. All the places I've listed would welcome you. Have had friends who have gotten bored and gone to some of them alone and booked 3-4 chicks to party with for a night and then take them all out to a club. I'm not a baller like that but they have a blast.

After going to Longhao Sauna last week:

Was given a card to their new place, which they told me was newly opened and had a better selection of girls.

The place is called: Dong Jin Wan Men's Club (sauna)

Address: 928 Pudong Ave (between Yuanshen Lu & Taolin Lu)

Figured I'd try it out after a meeting in Lujiazui. Quick 5+ min cab ride over. The place is set back in the mini plaza at 928, where there looks to be a cafe and a couple beer bars, on the right side of Pudong Ave if you're coming from the LJZ direction.

Place is definitely much much nicer than Longhao Sauna (though not hard to achieve). Standard setup and the locker / shower area (with large hottub and steam rooms) were probably around the same level as I remember Sacrosa. Though new.

Girl selection was ok, nothing outstanding, but had a variety of skinnier and some chubbier girls (with big knockers like at Longhao. I think they stock the stacked girls here). I usually like the skinnier ones, but I had a great time with a chubs but juggy girl at Longhao, so went for the girl with the largest jugs in the lineup. #780. Plump, but with a decent enough face (def not the cutest in the looks dept) , but stacked.

Was offered their VIP room service which is two hours for 1350 by the hall boss. Regular room and 1 hour was 700. I took a look at both and the VIP room has a huge full bathroom shower room side attached, vs just a small shower in the regular room. Bed area was also a little bit bigger and nicer. The girl was also pushing for the VIP room and promised a good time. Said heck and went for the VIP room. VIP room was very clean and spacious with a hotelish feel. Big round bed a fun touch.

Standard sauna script. Got shower massaged and cleaned (no nuru bed) , just the japanese style split seat. Cat bath, deep anal rimming, a little DATY, BBBJ, then to FS every which way. Two covered pops. She was also nice enough to give me a BBBJ HJ pop right before the session was over. Nice girl.

Total bill was 1350 for the VIP room for 2 hours with the girl. This place is 700 rmb per hour for normal room. 100 rmb more than Longhao, but worth it in comparison given the facilities. I also previously stated incorrectly that Longhao sauna was 615 per hour. It is actually 600 rmb (not 615 rmb) per hour, I forgot I ordered a pack of smokes during my visit and that was 30 rmb.

I'd repeat if I was conveniently in the area, but probably would not go across town for it. The VIP deal is def worth if you happen to like your girl and don't mind staying longer. The room is much nicer than the reg room setup. It's also newer, so rooms are clean and feel new.

Strange note: they had a kind of wine shop display setup in the lobby downstairs before you walk up. I overheard them offering another customer (his bill was only 700rmb) a coupon for a complimentary bottle of wine downstairs (looked and probably is local stuff so nothing special) , so maybe there is some promotion.

One question about Cosmos, when I read the blurb on the link at the Shanghai Guide, it sounds like the girls also charge for the lap dances, so that will drive the cost up pretty quickly.
