Since I'm a bit more careful I do less often. Annually and when I have symptoms. Thankfully 100% clean to date.
The above noted, if you look at the statistics, we've been in a pretty fortunate period historically as things relate to STDs. Low rates due to education, 'most' using protection, and readily available preventative medications. Unfortunately this has given people a false sense of confidence and numbers are increasing, particularly in Africa and Asia. I'm not trying to fear monger as it's the truth.
Also, it's worth noting that female to male transmission of things like HIV is pretty darn hard. All in all, I was most taken aback when the OP mentioned that he had a 150 k street walker sit on his face for 15 minutes. That's just asking for Herpes and a whole host of things LOL.

Over the years I have also spent much time in just about every city and municipality in Colombia, such as Bogota / Buca / Cartagena / Cali / Medellin, Barranquilla / Santa Marta / Riohacha / Quibdo / Pereria / Valledupar / Cucuta / etc. And as for Medellin I know just about every bar, strip club, venue, party zone, bar, casa, massage place, street scene and things have changed so much in the past decade.
Much can be argued about why the changes to our hobby but to sum it up as the cause to the proliferation of Social Media in general, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Only Fans, dating apps, etc.

Taking antibiotics prophylactically is selfish because it increases the progression of antibiotic resistant germ strains. That's why prescriptions are required in advanced countries. Not something to self-medicate with for preventive purposes. That's not even considering the possibility such people are deluding themselves about the safety it provides. Antibiotics aren't effective against viruses, after all. HIV, HPV, herpes, all viruses. I'm just sayin'.

[/QUOTE]Very true. I'm curious why Medellin has developed such a notorious reputation for safety issues in recent years, it didn't seem nearly this bad even three years ago. We don't hear nearly as much negative news from other major Colombian cities Bogota, Cali, Barranquilla, Cartagena, Santa Marta.
Is this shift primarily due to rising poverty? Are foreigners increasingly being seen as easy targets, or is there growing resentment toward them for contributing to higher local prices and cost of living, or locals pissed off due to perceptions around how foreigners objectify Medellin women?
