And it didn't look like just tourist police but it was a whole operation, they had a tent set up next to the park where they would take people to further question them.

I think we are saying the same thing. There are few foreigners so little of the crime affects us. I brought up the subject of crime so guys would not venture there and be caught unawares. I thought it might be helpful because that is not a barrio that is not mentioned often here and it did come up the other day.

Medellin was my final stop after a global Mongering Trip spanning Europe, Japan and Thailand with part of the time being with a girl from Tijuana. Headsup- don't make the mistake I made. Don't bring sand to the beach, even if travel costs you nothing doing it all on points. Spent 10 days there, took me 3 days to recover from Jetlag from FKK land.

Accomodation:

Took Peoples advice and booked Energy Living or anywhere that had the words "Security" and "Guest friendly" in the AriBnb reviews.

I was inspired by YYZ Travel. The man writes excellent reports and I can only hope to meet him one day. I really wanted to go to the Marriot since it was dirt cheap on points but held back at the thought of being Scolped (more on that later).

Energy living and Nock Living was where I stayed.

Room With Hot Tubs on the Balcony.

Cost: $150 USD a day on average.

I like energy living becasue there is a resturant on the ground floor and you can meet the girls and have a drink and "Interview them" if you are getting them from Fotoprepagos or Seeking.

It is also the coolest building and theres an ATM and money exchange place down the street in the Interplza mall. Used Uber and Indrive for transport. Indrive can be half the cost sometimes.

I did spend a day in the Nutibara hotel and it reminded me of the cheap Tijuana hotels. I was denied the presidential suite even though I booked it so that left a bad taste in my mouth. Sorry WT69, it not my cup of tea.

Maps by WT69 were helpful.

Non-Pros-.

There are beautiful women everywhere. Working in stores, at hooters (visit it daily, big butts) etc. I didn't get to monger too much because I ended up hooking up with a sexy 23 why / o who was my tourguide from a popular tourwebsite where local show you around.

Amigas Sexy- I really liked this place. The girls arent going to be as hot as Loutron but the service was good and cheap. At 120 K COP per hour plus 50 k tip for the BBBJ you can't go wrong. But.

Staying in a hotel with good security saves a lot of headache. So I didn't buy any of those things.

Cialis seems to last longer for me than viagra.

There are many folks who do El Centro full time from the Nutibara which reminds me of the Continental on John Wick. If you approach Centro right relax and have a drink and visit a few times a week you will find that some of the hottest girls in Medellin are there at a fraction of the cost you would pay for essentially the same if not experience than Lleras.

I personally find the Vennies are more friendly and down to earth. That's been my experience so if anyone is going to "scope" you it wouldn't be them.

Clicking on the link that Parisitius provided, Tests911 looks to be a quite useful and unique option for STD testing: a service oriented to foreigners--one that, as he notes, unlike most local testing labs, offers a panel of tests (for 12 diseases) as a package and promises results in less than 24 hours. But costly (595 mil pesos) and one has to travel all the way down to their lab in Itaqui.

I've used several more conveniently located, and economical local labs to test both chicas and myself, usually on an a la carte pricing basis for HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis. Unlike Parisitius, I've found these service to be professional and reliable. HIV results are available the same day by email or on the lab's website, but one does have to wait at least several days for the other findings.

Pricing at Laboratorio Clinico Unilab (Cra. 68 #48 D-16, Laureles Estadio) is typical: HIV 45 mil COP, chlamydia 50 mil, gonorrhea 25 mil, syphilis28 mil COP. Total 148 mil COP.

The chicas themselves often use Profamilia, a nonprofit that seems to be similar to Planned Parenthood in the US. (N. 43 - 47, CL. 54, La Candelaria). It tends to be busier, with longer wait times, than the better private labs.

Laboratorio Clinico Vid Sede Laureles: This is a somewhat more upscale lab just off Avenida Nutibara in Laureles. Less waiting time than in most other clinics I've used but a bit more costly. Circular 73 A #38 30. They have other labs in Candelaria and Belen.

A couple of things to be aware of:

Most labs require that the testing to be done before some deadline in the morning.

Testing for chlamydia and gonorrhea may be done by either taking a urine sample or a swab. If a urine sample, then the lab may require a morning fast until the sample is provided. If so, one option instead of fasting, is to buy a small sample jar for 2,000 pesos at a pharmacy and bring the sample from home to the lab. Of the above, Unilab uses swabs, Vid Sede takes urine sample, as I recall (not sure) Profamilia offers both options.

I've never had a problem just walking in, but I believe one can make appointments in advance.
