Of course, the weather is the main reason to leave south Florida in September. Medellin has spectacular geography compared to South Florida. The Metro system is incredibly good -- you could spend a couple of days just riding the cable cars up into the different hillside neighborhoods. I like the natural conviviality of the metrocable cars. Take the metrocable out to Parque Arvi just for the ride. Walk around Poblado. Spend a day just hanging around Plaza Botero etc. The city is alive with attractive young people. Only downside for me is that there is no water / beach.

If you had come down to Pattaya when you were over here in Asia, then you would not have even needed to make a choice. You would have still been here.

It is not going to have the seasonal variation like Lima, but you get 70 degree highs, mid 50's lows, the frequent quick rain shower, but the big issue with me with Bogota has been the pollution which gets my sinuses and the altitude. MDE is 10 degrees warmer than Bogota. Cali is about 10 degrees warmer than MDE and CTG and BAQ are hotter than Cali.

As far as food goes, Colombia is not Lima. I have gone from saying the food in Colombia sucks to finding places with good food and sticking mostly with them and on occasion venturing out. Given all the available ingredients, Colombia should be a foodie Mecca and it is not but it is getting slowly better.

With women, if you black women or women with curves, you should consider Cali. You are not going to find many spinners there though. BAQ has beautiful women but it is hot, a boring city except for Carnivale, and the P4 P scene is not much. For the most part, guys in the P4 P scene should opt for MDE or Bogota.

Thing is I like Medellin more in almost every way except for the women. It is more beautiful, at a lower altitude, and it always seems like there is something going on. The women in MDE are slightly more attractive, but they are more snobby, more materialistic, and more annoying. Yes, there are way more instances of getting robbed and drugged in MDE than other places but to me, that is like getting hit by a bus. It can happen anywhere. I just would not let it dominate my thinking.

What is likely to happen is you will be ripped off with your time, the women will give less than stellar service, or be unrealistic about a price, and I think that is more common in MDE. Jay, I had my first time in MDE about a month ago and I had a great time. Granted I'm a little younger than you in my early 40's but I think you can still enjoy your time.

1. Stay in an Airbnb in El Poblado that has solid security if you are going to bring girls back. Ones where they check for ID when the girl comes and will ask you to either walk down with her or text that all is good. Just search the reviews for the word "security" and "guest friendly". As a general comment, I am looking for locations with direct flights of reasonable duration (MDE is close to the limit) within one time zone that can be an easy 3-4 day trip. Anything longer than that is a "long trip" that I do once or twice a year. I have a lot of hours invested in Duolingo Spanish, and the only time I get to use it for more than ordering a meal is with girls in Spanish-speaking countries.
