Hey Guys,
Planning my first trip and I've been RTFF religiously. My spanish is not the best, but I'm probably going to be fine if I just look online for english speaking people off Seeking, use the apps, etc. - however, I'm curious, is there a bad sentiment towards Asian people? Asking out of curiosity and primarily safety, thanks.
Not to double post, but are there spots to easily find English speaking chicas? Or is it just YMMV.

Most of them will be patient with you if you are trying to speak Spanish. They will help you if you can speak a little.
So my evening date flaked out, due to her crazy dad not allowing her to go out. So I just decided to have a random adventure to Park Lleras.
I arrived about 830 and took a stroll through the park. It's amazing how much has changed in 18 months. The place is starting to look like Las Vegas or Cancun. My Lord. There were a lot of women. And not many guys. I struck up a conversation with a gal from Bello and invited her to dinner (I kinda liked the instant dinner date option). She was good company, but I wasn't interested in pursuing anything after dinner. She quoted 350 k for an hour and 100 K for a nearby hotel room. No thanks.
After ditching her, I made it to a liquor store bar on the opposite side of the park. Opposite of gusto. It's there I met "Irish John". Some of you guys may know him. He's a regular in Poblado and wow, he was a ton of fun to talk to. He was telling me that he met his 26 year old girlfriend in Santa Fe mall when he was in line at frisby chicken. He simply gave her his business card and she messaged him not long after. She is stunning. He is doing very well for 67 years old. They've been together for three years. He jokes around and tells people that she's too old for him. Haha.
We talked about a lot of things, but one of his other interesting stories was how he did get scoped a few years back. It was also a chica that he met in the mall and they had been on five dates together. She eventually came over to his house and scoped his coffee. She took a lot of his valuables, but he was able to track his laptops down with the help of some off duty police officers. He knows he was lucky that he wasn't killed by the drug. But he has a very high tolerance.
After that, I took another stroll through the Park. At least 4-1 women at midnight and definitely more slender women than on bumble and tinder. Careful with the minors. They are also in the Parque Lleras mix and the police don't seem to care that they are there. I thought the police use to check cedulas upon entering that area but that's not the case anymore and with it being redesigned a lot of girls arrive packed into cabs. Looked like a clown car with how many 304's would come out of one small yellow taxi.

A couple of years ago a neighbor in my building who teaches French invited me to be a guest gringo at his language school. I was really surprised how little knowledge of English some of the Colombian English instructors had. When I naively asked my host why they don't have any native English speakers teaching English, he asked me if I would be willing to do it for 2 million pesos per month. It all made sense after that.

On October 28th I will be arriving in MDE after more than 5 years, my flight arrives at midnight, first time that I arrive into MDE in the middle of the night.
This puts me in a new situation, I am guessing that most of the stores in the airport are going to be closed at midnight, but I am just guessing, so my question for you guys is:
If any of you guys have arrived at this time, do you know if the money exchange places are open? Also, a store were I can buy a SIM card?
This has me worried because I won't have any local currency for a taxis and no local cell phone and internet services.
How would you guys handle this? Any input would be very appreciated.

I use taxi outside showing taxi. Usually its around 120,000 pesos. You could alway exchange in USA at the airport. I would check withe cellphone company, I use verizon and it works fine in Colombia.

I've been looking at buying a colombian SIM card on eBay, they're not expensive and I would get cell phone service right of the plane, however I've been looking at youtube videos that show how to activate the SIM cards in Colombia and all of them show that you have to input a cedula number. Is that the new norm? How does someone who's not from Colombia get a local cell phone number now?

But thanks for the advice and I do not plan on traveling solo. I'm doing my research, I'm just used to the USA site where someone new would ask questions and he was given lots of info. I see it's not quite like that here on the Intl side.
