Arriving in Bogota definitely a better strategy if you can do it. A male arriving in MDE is assumed to be traveling for pussy and they are trying to stop that. In Bogota, you're less likely to get that same treatment. And the immigration lines moves way waster.
You planned on staying 6 months in El Centro? My hat's off to you.
I normally stay in Laureles for 7 days to visit the online girls and the brothels. Then spend 1-2 weeks in another city. The amount of new girls in Centro is practically nill compared to 2 years ago. Going to Periera for a week to try the street scene there again and visit the hot springs. Fly out of Colombia Oct 29 for a total of 15 days stay. I like to do numbers and in 7 days I have had only 1 new girl. All the others are repeats from 2 years ago. Boring for me. One sexy black girl I had to cancel in my room when she asked for advanced payment. I thought there would be a problem. Hot body and pretty face but her whitish friend had poisoned her mind. That is why I never saw anyone take her. Some guy talked to her for 5 minutes before walking away. Then I tried 5 minutes later and learned why. Pay first is nearly always a horrible experience.
Great report and very nice information, can you please exactly tell the name of "Big Balcony Hotel" , I normally stay at hotel nutribara but every time I visit their prices are going up and level of service is going to trash.
Between the church and the museum. 7 day stay and I did find a small cockroach in my room. Most music noise ends 10:00-10:30. Friday and Saturday night 1 am. 2 years ago it was 1-2:00 am every night. But you have loud druggies yelling in the middle of the night nearly every night for 5 minutes passing by. Mornings are also noisy at times. Try 1-2 nights and change if needed. First girl free and 20,000 after that.

If you are carrying a US passport I am not sure it is a great idea to do Colombia now -given the back and forth between the governments.
Came in yesterday and americans had their phones searched in line and they we're detained. They have an entire team chat checks these online forums like this one. So any tricks you tell the whole world to skirt the process will eventually be gone because they read what you dummies post.

Were all Americans on the plane detained? Was one American detained? Were all Americans stopped while their phones were searched? Was it just one person? A little more detail, a little more clarity would help and go a long way for people to understand the situation. The only advice that has been posted that seems practical is simply not to have anything on your phone or laptop that could raise a question or suspicion. Applications can be easily deleted and reinstalled afterwards. The information is retained in the cloud, disconnected from the phone.

Americans weren't being detained. Phones were not being checked. There is no team looking at online forums.
I arrived yesterday at 5 pm on Copa. There were no other passengers from other flights at immigration. I was first in line in the old folks lane and advanced to the agent almost immediately. He asked two questions, are you on vacation, and in what city. I answered and asked if he needed the address of where I would be staying. He said no, stamped my passport, and I was out before any bags arrived. I had filled out Check-Mig even though there was e banner on their website saying it was undergoing changes.

Brother Ram even canceled his trip. Bad Idea to cancel a trip because of internet rumors. Stay off the internet and live your life.
COPA airlines had the right price and the right landing time but could not purchase ticket on their website. Then I remembered I had the same problem once years ago and went to one of their office locations located nearby. I learned you can easily buy a COPA ticket using Expedia.
I was sleeping when they delivered a small dinner during the flight. Nobody tried to wake me. I asked the stewardess when she was picking up the after dinner trays and she said yes but it never happened. On the way off the plane being one of the last off I said "I missed dinner" as I passed by her and she did not look up from staring at her phone. Fcuk COPA Airlines! I was shocked when I walked around the Panama City Airport and a simple hotdog with packets of relish, mustard, and ketchup cost $7.
I landed and immigration stopped me (my fault). I had been to Colombia 5 times with no problems. But I overstayed 1 week on visit 6 and fined around $150. Then on my 7th visit I overstayed 2 weeks and they walked $320 but I did not pay and signed paper acknowledging so and informed this would accrue interest if I returned. I did not think I would return but changed my mind around 2 years later. The fine jumped to $640. Paid and no problem.
The 17,000 peso bus to town runs 24 hours and so easy. Love it.
Stayed at Hotel Soberano around the corner for 50,000 p. Stayed there years before and the room I had was pretty decent. Not this time. Cockroaches everywhere. I stayed there because I was afraid to walk across Botero Park with all my stuff at 9 pm. I saw a girl I did in the past who was staying at the same hotel and we exchanged info. Took shower and went to her room seeing if she wanted to come visit me and she said later. Two days later and no messages.
I checked the price at Hotel Mandala which has rather small dark rooms clean for 92,000 p. They have a breakfast using the resto next door and they have a foosball table in the office area.
I chose to stay at the Big Balcony Hotel near the church. They have had several owners with several names but everyone knows the one. Hotel Mandala had just boughten it 2 years ago and added free coffee and tea. Then they added a cereal breakfast with prices keep going up. I think it was 90,000 p at the time. I return and see I know the receptionist from the hotel nearest the church and the next day see another receptionist from the same hotel so I feel safer thinking less chance of any room theft. Next day I see the owner and he sees me. He remembered me and bumped fists. It took me a minute to remember him. He and his buddies own the hotel nearest the church (they kicked me out when they changed it to a 100% ST hotel), the Big Balcony hotel, and the hotel as you walk down the side of the church to the casino at the corner and turn left and it is the very first hotel. That hotel is a dark mini maze. You know if you have been there.
Hotel Big Balcony is better now for 70,000 p and my room has a refrigerator. FYI if you have a room with no ref and one is available they will move one to your room. They do not turn on the big outside front lights at the top of the building so it is actually dark at night on the top front facing floor. They fixed my window hinge and electrical plug in (grounding hole plugged) that day I mentioned it. I did not want them to think I broke the window hinge. Loud music stopped at 10:00 pm and then 10:30 pm the next night so I expect even later during the weekend. I have stayed 5 weeks in the past but only 2 days this trip and yet to see a cockroach.
Less than 24 hours here and already seen some guy pissing on a tree, one guy blowing snot from his nose, 2 people picking their nose, endless amounts of homeless druggies. I nearly died from the stench from the 3 porta potties under the metro near Hotel Nutribara. Horrible! The place is a complete circus.
First day and took a repeat from 2 years back. No condom. Came on her back. She asked for 90,000 p and I gave it. She has always been a super sweet girl to me even though the price seemed a little high since we have been together 7 times now.
Second day saw a woman at 5:30 am looking for a customer. 2 hours later and 3 hours after that still at the same location waiting. I tried a new girl. Very pretty. Wanted 60,000 p. At the halfway mark of condomless sex she says cuatro (4). 60+40= 100,000 p. Ok. I finish on her back and clean the mess with a paper towel. Less than thrilled when she washed up her snatch using my sink. I give her 100,000 and she says 300,000 ($77). We have a low level argument and I tell her policia we passed on the main floor. I give her a soda and a hug. All is well once she learned I was not a newbie.
Scotia / Colpatria Bank only let me take out 900,000 p. Used it 2 years ago with the same cards and received 1,500,000 p.
Street scene not as good as 2 years prior. It is early but I see less diamonds in the rough (possibly the cold and rain). The policia always checking the girl's IDs even when of age. I assume this has ran some of the girls away. Police everywhere. Both days had police stay in the hallways of my hotel from 2 pm - 8 pm.
My rose tinted glasses are fogged up. I think my possible 6 month stay will be shortened to 5-6 weeks.
I don't understand why people stay in el centro with the infestations and druggies. Disgusting.
I don't understand why people stay in el centro with the infestations and druggies. Disgusting.
Likewise, there are people saying I don't understand why people fuck prostitutes. Disgusting. Yet here we all are on this forum.
I don't understand why people stay in el centro with the infestations and druggies. Disgusting.
The El Centro crowd would say I don't understand why people stay in Poblado and pay the girls 8 times what I pay them in El Centro because they are the same girls.
I don't understand why people stay in el centro with the infestations and druggies. Disgusting.
The majority of people worldwide think prostitutes are ugly, disgusting, invested, and all druggies. Most of us know better than that. Yet here you are on this very site. One of the sweetest sexiest girls I have ever been with I found in Centro. I wish I could post her picture. But I won't because I know someone somewhere has taken her home and looking to marry her. Could be one of you. One never knows. I can tell you that if I was in my 20's I would have fallen in love with that girl and I would be wrapped around her finger. Thank the almighty one I was in my later years when I found her.
Now if you are talking about the area (not the girls) then yes I would agree it is not easy. But I try to stay as near as possible to the women I am hunting.
The El Centro crowd would say I don't understand why people stay in Poblado and pay the girls 8 times what I pay them in El Centro because they are the same girls.
I don't think the vast majority of the girls are the same in the Poblado and Centro areas. On my two trips to Medellin, I spent time walking through both areas and even if most of the centro girls changed dresses, they wouldn't look like the girls you usually see in Parque Lleras. Facically the girls in Lleras are much nicer. I would say that even the girls at the casas like Real Life, although they come in all shapes and sizes, facially are still nicer in my observation than most of the girls who hang around centro.
