I never understand the point of speeding. I wonder if some of those people have a death wish. Say, your destination is 65 miles away. Driving at 65 mph takes an hour, and driving at 85 mph takes 46 min. So, you save 14 min, and for what? Within 5 to 10 miles, you are reasonably safe but above that you are inviting trouble.

There's no rush to the clubs but it's a serious rush flying on the autobahn!

Had many problems with police on each of my 3 visits, in Florida, in California, even in Colorado.
In Germany, free speed parts, allow you to drive as fast as possible, everybody can drive his own speed, without forgetting a car can become a dangerous, often more than 1300 kg, weapon which can kill. When You drive nearly 100 000 kms per year, often at night, after skiing, or bike climbing mountains all day, then You learn how to survive, how to fight against sleeping, even through Switzerland, Italy or in France.
Also when your first car you bought when you were still student was a Hartge 3, after a few kilometers you made improved the K-jetronic by Alpina because Hartge didn't at this time, not usual on K-jetronic, became easier on Motronic, what a fun and pleasure car until engine was very tired at nearly 200 000. Then, when starting to work, tested M3 improved 2.5 Schnitzer, B6 3.5 Alpina, which were top performers at this time, until I saw the car of my life. When I first saw her she was so badly crashed, nearly remaining only her wing, but I wanted her, I felt I could re-build her and I did. With RS500 Cosworth named rodeo car at this time, everything was possible, it was a real race car, just have to put more turbo and gas pressure to get a rocket as efficient as Porsche turbo. 1 year and half later, I was alone with her and alone on wet road and I destroyed her, I didn't feel my injuries on head, body and legs, but I cried for her. Car insurance expert told me I give You the money to buy another one, I answered I m obliged to re-build her again, I did. When breaking hard later on motorway around Paris, I was crashed again, I re-build her again. 24 years together, 4 engines changed, 250 000 kms in a 3 times re-built race dreamed car. One of my GF used to ask me when I decided to re-build her: Who do You really prefer? When I spent so much time to re-build her. I sold her to a guy who with his father, seem to love her as I did. She will stay in a small museum with her little sister Escort RS Cosworth, a real karting. She deserves after 3 deaths, but 3 survivals from my love for her.
Now, with my new friends, electronics experts Shiftech, possible to improve 30/50 % car power, so just have to choose a good balance and strong engine, and easy to play with Germans for free speed, just have to stay alive. In race, you can only win if you finish the race.

OK, I did not mean to imply why do people go fast ever, I was just asking why do they exceed local speed limits whatever they may be. I understand the thrill of going fast, even if it is not my cup of tea. In several decades of driving, I have never received one speeding ticket anywhere in the world; obviously, you can tell I am very risk averse, LOL.
100,000 km per year is quite impressive Siri! I have a long commute to work but my annual mileage rarely exceeds 20 K miles; You are an iron man!

I drove my beloved RS500 daily for more than 10 years.
On Winter 2014/2015, I drove many times 1300 kms in 18 hours, staying 6 hours at World. Easy with modern cars, but not same adrenaline, not same engine noise, than rodeo cars.
Real iron man is to climb Zoncolan, Mortirolo, 2 sides of Ventoux, when You feel your body burning inside, but You know you have to do it, you must not stop. Not for big belly, nor smokers.

Foreign brides?
As far as I know, some North American and Western European men have foreign brides from Eastern Europe.
For example, the upcoming president of the US seems to have three Eastern European wives.
I am not planning to marry one, but just curious about the final outcome.
Does anyone know any stories or information regarding foreign brides?
Is it a practical way to gain happiness? Or it is just another form of P4P?

Iron Man
Is long-distance race consisting of a 2. 4-mile (3. 86 km) swim, a 112-mile (180.25 km) bicycle ride and a marathon 26.22-mile (42.20 km) run, raced in that order and without a break.
So, I am one quarter iron man :)
No car driving included. ;)

The new law. I was wondering if any of our well informed German colleagues had any idea if CIM is illegal if there is no contact between the penis and mouth?

How would they intercept the mail before their wife go to it? How would they explain why they were driving so fast, so late at night, so far from where they were supposed to be.

But hey, she is going to be first lady, so she is the queen of these eastern European girl seeking for better lives, she is one of success case as there are many sad endings to these girls as not all men are damn or remain rich.
Marriage in modern day became totally different thing to our parent day, so personally, it is not worth it in this modern day.
I think from sex life and cost perspective, marriage is destruction of it.

Veto pretty much said it. If I'm in a high performing car, my foot will get heavier. Haha.
The situation is that Autobahn has speed limits and no speed limit zones. But, I see cars coasting on the high speed lane. In the US, the speed limits are pretty consistent on the highways.
The situation in Koln is there are drastic reduction of speed in some area with speed cams, and it will catch ones not aware off-guard. So, anybody going through Koln, bridges, etc, watch out for the speed cams.

Life passions
Sierra Cosworth?
RS500 was the evolution with 2.4 race engine of Sierra RS Cosworth 2.0 16 DOHC with big wing. With increased to 3.5 bar and bigger Garett turbo I changed, versus 0.75 on RS Cosworth with 204 horses, with increased gas pressure and new Magnetti Marelli program to open gas for longer time, we got about 450/500 horses like in race, for 1250 kgs with 12 points safety cage, only on rear wheels drive. Less than 24 seconds for 1 kilometer, less than 19 seconds to be over 200 , starting stopped. When I bought in 1992, I could never buy one not so badly crashed, these cars were not to sale, they were for lovers, even destroyed she was the prettiest for my passionate eyes, more than 6 months to re-build her, to put safety cage, to re-build and improve engine with 200 CV increased. Then, just have to keep rodeo girl on the track. When I crashed her on end of 1994 , on wet, safety cage was broken, even with glasses in the hair, injuries and blood everywhere, I didn't want to let her alone. I took her to be safe in garage before going to hospital. Nearly 1 year to re-build her again and I even had to re-build her for third time. Again 3 months after being crashed from behind when breaking.
Only my grandmother was not afraid when I pushed, she just said to my mother: he is faster than others. Even now, she could compete with RS4 or Porsche turbo for performances, but she was not so easy to keep on track.
