The big show in Gwangju is behind the Lotte Department Store in Daein Dong
If you are asian but not almost completely fluent then they will not take you.
I hit a home run several times but my experiences were sometimes very frustrating due to the language barrier.
I am a Gyopo with limited Korean so I was rejected 70% of the time visiting on weeknights. I am very picky / selective. When visiting I was given the foreigners' rate of 100, 000won and based on the tone of their voice I just chose to drive off to Busan / Seoul for long distance mongering.
Behind Yangdong Market and across from Home Plus are Sool Jib or liquor houses but I did not like the quality of the girls and I don't perform with alcohol in my system or after spending a fortune in alcohol. According to the taxi drivers, you need to drink first before you perform your ritual. The girls behind Yangdong Market might be a tad bit prettier than Home Plus.
Unamdong (with many motels) supposedly has some kind of area but I have no clue how that area works.
There seems to be some dabangs / coffee shops but I have no clue how they work.
There is some report of a lower rate in "General Reports" section but I have never experienced this.
I was feeling restless so I'd decided to take a stroll through Gwangju. Was in the area of the Gwangju Bus Terminal, saw all those Motels and decided to inspect the area further. Their were quite some barber pole shops but what confused me first was the &51060; &50689; &50900; (I-yong-wol) because I expected I-yong-shil (&51060; &50689; &49892. Decided to enter anyway, doesn't hurt to ask. I am a kyopo, my korean is medium but I was raised with the local accent so if I don"t talk too much, people don"t necessarily notice.
It was around 10pm and totally empty. From a small room came a grandpa and ushered me to come closer. I was hesistant and asked whether they also provide service and he replied "Just sit down, I'll take care of you, no worries." It didn't look like there was anybody female around and since I am not bicurious I decided to retreat.
In the following hour I covered about 9 shops in the area but none of them really motivated me. Mostly because the ladies there were all clearly in the mid40s and I was hoping for something younger. But I stayed long enough to ask the basic questions. All but one asked for 80k, which would cover an hour (massage and ser-bi-su). One of them wanted 110k and I left without saying anything. Asking whether they accept Kyopos they all just waved that aside and told me to enter. When I wanted to know whether foreigners are ok, most of them frowned and said "maybe later" which usuallu means no. One lady (actually the nicest of them all) pretended not to understand.
Directions: Took bus number 36 to the Bus terminal. When you get off the bus, bo back to the last intersection. Across the street you will see a Kumho tire shop and behind that many motels. The barber poles (saw 4, including grandpa) are hard to miss.
When you go back towards the city, you will pass the Emart and about 700m past that you will see again many Motels on that side, the barber poles are in the side streets there. One shop is directly on that street besides a cafe (forgot the name). They actually had the nicest facilities but nobody was there, though the shop was open. I used their landline phone to call the cell phone number written on the door and asked wether they are open and the lady replied that she would be there in 5 min. I didn't bother to wait because she sounded old as well.
I later asked a taxi driver whether he could recommend some nice anmas and he told me to try it in the Gwangju Newtown (sang mu ji gu) , after which I kicked myself because I was close to that area.
Anyway, long night, but unfortunately no luck. Which leaves me with a few questions:
1. Are their usually only old ladies working in these shops? Where can I find somebody younger (20s)?
2. Did I go there too late? Is there a good time?
3. Passing one of the motels I saw a car dropping two gorgeous girls. The driver yelled a bit that they were late and ushered them towards the motel. Looked to me like an incall, does anybody know how to do that in the motels?
Sorry for not being able to tell you about some action. Hopefully this will change soon.
Damn traffic in this thread is slow
Not much traffic in this thread. Anyways, here is an update to my previous post: I ended up going back to Las Vegas. Built up a bit of trust by talking to girl for a while, and eventually she made me confortable in that if I paid the $300 up front I wouldn't be disappointed. I did, and I wasn't, at all. We made it back to my hotel room, did everything I had hoped for and more. Took a rest, then did it again. She basically stayed over the whole night (which was 3+ hours given how late it was when we left). I went back later in the week fo a similar deal ($300 for the night, which was 6+ hours considering we left much earlier). Anyways, I have some great memories from Ulsan, even if I did overpay a bit.
Anyways, I left and headed to Las Vegas, about 15 girls (assumingly all filipinas) , but much better looking. 7's & 8's all around. One of them caught my eye (Rachel) , so I bought her a drink. I asked if she would join me at my hotel for an hour. First she said she wasn't allowed to leave, but after some convincing she said she needed to ask her boss, and came back asking 400K won. This sounded pretty outrageous, so I countered with 250K won (still seemed quite high for Korea, but I was really digging this girl). She went away again and came back with her boss who wanted 300K won, and she wanted it all there on the spot. I told her I would pay 150K won bar fine and give the girl 150K, but she wouldn't budge. Furthermore, it was almost 2am and the place was devoid of customers. The girl was acting all interested and asked for my phone number to meet later, but the whole thing seemed kinda sketchy. I just had the feeling I would pay the 300K and then the girl would BS or try to upsell once we got to my hotel. Anyways, I just bailed (and girl didn't ever call). Can someone explain what the hell was going on? Is this normal in Korea? (this was my first mongering in Korea outside of Itaewan)
