You are right. We don't know anything about having fun. Suggest you stay away and never visit us.

Please do not take me wrong, but receiving a smile may need to give one too.
Sorry, but I am unable to confirm your point, because I found a lot of smile and from all nationalities.
Try it with a smile and greetings

Does any one know if Baniyas Sq by Le Meridien is a girl friendly hotel?

methinks he is referring to sporadic's comment on coral boutique hotel apartments. about it being a glum place and no one smiles et al...
hammer, dont worry, there are plenty of smiles to go around. heh
If indeed the comment was about the glum hotel, then I will give the real answer, the same answer as most people in DXB. We go there for money.
We go there for money.
Speak for yourself.
I came for the waters...
The waters? What waters? We're in the desert.
I was misinformed.
Well I have seen quite a few people in this country who are smiling, which makes them seem very happy.
I smile every time I think of the fun I have had and the fun I am going to have in this, one of the best mongering places in the world.
Add to that the money and the weather (now its not so hot) and the fact that I am nearly 50 years old, regularly having good sex with girls half my age - Man you just gotta smile!
Enjoy!

I was misinformed.
I came for the waters! Just spent a couple of hours on Jumeira Beach. Bravo - if you want eye candy, forget Cyclone - the beach on a weekday is place to be. Skimpy bikinis of all nationalities; Cyclone dress code does not apply. Natural viagra! :)

Hello fellow mongers,
I'm planning a short trip to Dubai mid Dec for 2 reasons. I need a reasonably long trip to accumulate enough air miles to keep my top tier status with my airline. (Europe won't cut it, I live in Canada). Secondly I was in Dubai several years ago and had a great fucking time. Time to combine 2 essential needs, air miles and pussy!
Last time I stayed at the Shangri-la and had absolutely no problems. This included parading 2 CIS lovies through the lobby at 3am. My research tells me this has since changed.
While all the reports I've read suggest the 4 points at very GS, I'm inclined to stay at the sofitel as I have a few free nights available to me. So 2 questions. The last report I saw (I have been doing my research) says the hotel is GF. Can anyone confrm that is still the case? As well, I don't really know the city and am useless at reading maps. As I recall, the triangle isn't too far by cab??
Thanks in advance. I should be in Dubai the nights of Dec 15/16. Would be pleased to buy a drink for any of the prolific posters if they are around. Its the least I can do for all the advice I've gleaned.
Stirling
GF, no doubt. You may have trouble getting a room though, they do tend to stay well booked.
Not at all near the triangle, it is co-located with the Diera City Centre (shopping mall) which makes it nice for walking around, but useless for the triangle. A cab will cost you anywhere from 15-23 dirhams to the triangle depending upon the route (things are pretty torn up with metro construction) and depending upon when you go out, it could take anywhere from 10 minutes to 45 minutes (worst case.)
I have never minded making the trip to the triangle from the Sofitel, I just try to time it right (beat the traffic) by going early (say 8 pm) and hitting the happy hour at the york to kill some time until the other venues warm up. YMMV.
Everyone knows the hotel, so if you are doing incall (grab those numbers while you are out scouting) they have no problem finding it, and every cabby knows the way.
Never a problem at the Sofitel. Have fun.
I have read that the Ramada is GF except for showing pasport information.
Does anyone have any recent experiance?
I am staying there late next week and just wanted to know.
Are most of the other bars like the York, Suites ect with in walking distance or is a taxi better?
Thanks
Are most of the other bars like the York, Suites ect with in walking distance or is a taxi better?
Ramadan finished. Ramadan "be nice" spirit finished. RTFF, specifically try reading the reports of distinction - even a map there.
For those interested this is to confirm world trade center is absolutely GF and from my prospect VFM.
Located at the World Trade Center behind Sheikh Zayeed road it is central to both Bur Dubai's "Golden Triangle" and Metropolitiion, HRC, etc.
Way to the airport around 15 mins.

Greetings,
