Ya I found Aruba to be too american for what I prefer, and I'm american too.

Definitely was lookin for more of a local type of scene or at least somewhat different culture.

I would have loved to have met some locals to party with and check out the real local scene like you did. Especially if it was colombians!

There are definitely some very sexy 'exotic' girls there. I like the latina / black / light skin girls.

I don't know how else to describe these girls. They're not the caucasian latinas, and they're not the black latinas. They're somewhere in between maybe. LOL not sure if that makes any sense.

Food was great, but I got sick of fancy food after a while and was really cravin some jamaican / trini food which surprisingly could not find, just your basic curry chicken / rice'and'peas.

Honestly wasn't too freaked out by the prices though. But then again. Used to the Manhattan prices.

Well as much as I hate to say it. San Nicolaas really sucked. The town is really falling apart fast and the selection of chicas was pretty poor. All of them seem to be on a bad diet as they all had that kind of pasty, Pillsbury Doughboy look. I did go with one chica that had a pretty face, but wasn't all that great to look at without clothes. She was too greedy, quoting $60 US, then backing off to $50. If I wanted DATY it would be another $20 and another $20 for a backrub. I settled for a BJ for $30. Not great and she was pretty ticked off that I didn't tip her. Oh well. At least I got rid of some pent up leche. Campo was much better. (Campo report on the proper board)

But there may be some hope in the future. Aruba is getting very aggressive with renovations. They already started in O-sted. They are putting in a free streetcar to move people around to parts of the town that have been ignored by tourists. It should help business there quite a bit. There are plans to completely renovate and modernize San Nicolaas as well. That would be good as SN has quite a bit of history and some very unique buildings. I just hope they don't close down the chica bars.

Thanks[/QUOTE]I only saw one that looked good but she got snapped up before I could get to her. I think she is in a fairly new bar, The Hot Zone or something like that. It's about one block down the first alley to the left of Main St. There very well could be others, but SN is really a game of hunt and search. It is not the convenience of having many chicas in one place like the casas in SXM or at Campo.

For sure you do not want to miss the Jouvert Morning Pajamas Parade in San Nicolasat4:00 a. M Saturday February 9. It is quite a spectacle and the chicas really get into it, wearing the sexiest pajamas. It's best to get there the night before and try to hang out with a chica until the parade starts.

Curacao is only a 30 minute flight and should cost under $200 R / T. I got lucky on this trip and scored a super deal on DAE. $13 fare plus taxes. Total cost was $27 from AUA-CUR and $41 from CUR-SXM. In both cases the taxes were more than the fare. But do not make any plans that require tight timing. DAE, Tiara Air and Insel are all notorious for delayed or cancelled flights. They almost cancelled my CUR-SXM trip as there were not a lot of passengers but they decided to use an ATR42 turboprop instead on the jet. It left 2. 5 hours late and the smaller plane added an extra hour to the flight. Oh well, this is typical of the island airlines.

I remember once a flight of mine from Curacao to Bonaire was just flat out cancelled. And when that happens, they do not give you a refund. What they say is that your ticket is good for the same flight for one year. There are two airlines that routinely make the flights, DAE is the worst. I don't remember the other one. I ended up just buying another plane ticket on the other carrier. Luckily, the tickets are cheap enough that the damage isn't bad, usually about $50.

If you plan to make a last minute inter-island hop, never buy the ticket online. If you call the central 1800 number, they will always say that the flight is a go. Call the airport and verify that the flight exists a few hours before. The last thing you want to do is to check out of your hotel, only to find that the flight is cancelled. What they do is count the number of tickets sold, and decide whether the flight is worth doing. From what I gathered, most of the airlines have three flights a day; One in the early morning, like 7 am, the other at 1 am, and usually another at 7 pm Interestingly, the one at 1 p. M, which you would think is the most useful and popular, is usually the one cancelled. The early am flight is the most reliable.

I never thought there would be that much action in Aruba during Carnival. Thought I would have to take a short trip to Campo. But that was NOT the case. During the days of the parade the chicas would be right out there drinking and jumping up and down. Occassionally, one would be pulled inside for a session. I started out at the American Bar were there four chicas. Andrea, who is a regular on the scene is just amazing. She would do anything for the dollars. She is short and thick and gives a mean BJ. I have been going to Aruba for many years and the action at the red light district in San Nicholas is fun. I don't recommend Sun or Monday as girls take the day off and most bars are closed or close early. From the down town I take the bus to San Nicholas and get off at the main bus station. From there I walk to my right and take the street that forks to the left and walk a short way to Charles Bar, use the rest room have a shot of captains rum and a coke chaser. From there I walk straight across the street to Carolinas Bar on the left. Its a cute little place with a juke box and the girls are friendly and not pushy. They usually have 3-4 girls working from Columbia. I have a drink and chat with the one I like. Latter I pay the bartender 5$us and we go to her room down a hall at the back of the bar. Its been 50-50 if they will do BBBJCIM or covered and FS covered any position. When we're done I usually give between 30-50$us depending on the service. I may stay with her or try a different girl for another pop. You can easily walk the district around the block. It looks scary and you will be approached by drug dealers but its safe enough. The other bars will have up to 4 girls working, some standing outside. Don't just take the pushy one who's turn it is. You are the customer and pick the one you want. The last bus leaves around 10:20pm back to the hotels or a 30$ cab ride.

They now what's going on, it's the same price as online or over the phone and you leave with ticket in hand. Takes 5 minutes. I always do it the day before I want to fly.

We sometimes rag on SN, especially compared tp Campo or SXM, but it is always filled with surprises and some of my favorite times were there.

It will be interesting to see what it is like after the planned renovation / restoration project that has been planned. It will open the town to more tourism. I just hope they still incorporate the brothels and don't get rid of them.
