Personally for me, in Angeles, I've never had a woman afterwards ask that. I have seen the waitresses frown when I leave if I leave like 5-10 pesos on occasion.
Yeah, like the fat waitress at Dollhouse. I went early during Happy hours for a quick beer and just to scan what was being offered early on stage. The beer bill was 50p (maybe 60--don't remember exactly), left her a 10p tip and heard her and her friends laughing out loud all the way to the door.
Well, heres my take on what happen the only time I decided to call someone here my so call GF.
Never had a problem with health, then went away for a month, came back and spend a week with her and return home with the drips. Well, the only gal I've been with all this time was her so I guess you can come to the same conclusion as me.
Live and learn.

Man, in all this time I've known you, heard you once mention you had a lady in AC but you never finished the story about her, now I know why.
Cheers pal
Yeah, I do agree as I am a long time visitor here (been here many times as a tourist but not an expat like some of you lucky souls). And being here often enough sometimes makes me feel like an expat already as I've gotten to know many here by sight.
Lets not forget the final cost for your gal for the nite is always more than the mandatory BF + tips.
At least for me, even being the cheapo that I am will ALWAYS buy a beer or 2 at the bar and order a LD for the gal I choose to "properly" introduce ourselves and have time for all my usual questions and also the LD will usually (not always) break the ice and show me if she will be friendly--like wrapping arms around me, stroking my legs etc)
So even on my cheapo budget, it will be 1500 BF + 1-2 beers (about 120p--and/or more if happy hours over) and LD =150p, its about 1800p and if I gave trike money tips like I always do for the avg performer then final cost will be close to about 1900-2000p.
Just from my experiences , but do post your experiences and MO as they will be different from mine.
PT
Final cost seems about right, except to add if you do take the odd one out early and had to also feed her the usual Jollibee meal if she is hungry --and they often will be if you even mention the work Jollibee, then add on another 150-200p to the final cost, so sometimes the overall cost will run 2200p +.
And if as some of you reported to give 1000p + or more tips (BTW: I personally believe this is way over what I consider normal--IMHO)
then your final nite cost could be alot more than you suspect.

As I reported earlier,
I too had my share of runners and this happened despite every attempt to weed them out.
Last trip to AC, I had 2 runners and one was from Perimeter and the other from Fields.
But also to alert others that a different form of bad performance is the occassional non-runner but a bad performer- which I believe to be worst than the runner.
At least with a runner, she shows a bad attitude but leaves right away. With a scamming non-performer, have a had time trying to throw their asses out in the middle of the night.
As soon as she gets to room, out comes the cell phone and texting, then on comes the TV. She will smile at you all this time. Shower and after the 1 st round the attitude takes a 180 turn. Now the bad attitude surfaces as she knows not much you can do (in terms of refunds and such as you already had sex with her). Now the constant texting continues, and she will be very resistant to you touching her and trying for round 2. She will promise you 1 round in am before she leaves--which is also BS as I had one before that promise this but in the am she was already all dressed and out the door before you can even touch her. All nite she will be up watching the local soap operas. You try to tell her to leave and she will say it is too early as she was BF all night (she just want to use you for your nice room, bed, AC etc.) What a hassle as I sometimes had to threaten to call the security guard up to kick her ass out, and by now it is often very late and my mood is gone for another take out at another bar.
So beware of another scam other than runners.

Why leave a tip for one drink? You risk embarassment by leaving an amount smaller than the drink price (in this case). Its easy to just hand her the next highest bill amount. P50 drink: give her p60 (p20 x 3) for the bill and walk out. Dont wait for the change and leave the p10 coin on the table. Or just leave a p50 note and walk. The girl will make her tips off other drunk foreigners who love to tip. I only tip if she's brought me several drinks (the next highest bill amount).

Before when the Beer cost 90 pesos I will give 100 Peso note and leave. Later the beer cost 100 Pesos I had to give 20 peso note because I usually have no coins.
Now the question comes why leave a tip? Well, everybody in AC expects a tip. Although it is in PHI it has become part of western system. I have seen some walk out without leaving any tip taking the change given. The girls are not allowed to say anything although sometimes they ask where is my tip? For me it is kind of awkward at that moment to search for the tip.
Everybody tips differently. Ac is a entertainment venue and I believe some tipping is advised.

do what you want.
I am not sure where to begin so i will just throw some random thoughts into the mix. I do not like carrying coins around in pocket, leave them for the waitress if i purchase something.. I am on vacation and don't want to be a collector of coins. I pay the EWR and unless it is exceptional i don't give a tip. If the girl is friendly and cooperative and we both enjoy ourselves much more likely to receive a tip of some kind. Never had any complaints.
At my hotel i tip the cleaning lady. Always cleaned room first and extra towels or what ever i want. Always done with a smile and uusually very quickly. In the reataurant I will tip once or twice a week. You would be surprised how this helps when I want service or just walk into the place.
You are on vacation so stop being cheap charlies. If you cant afford to tip when appropiate you don't have enough money to be here on a vacation. Thats just how I feel, nothing against you if you don't feel this way.
Look at what you are really spending. Where I am from i go to a movie and for some food with a date I figure it is $100 . I probibly won't get any for a few dates so now I am in for 300 or more. Here i can have a great time less than 2500P. Wow , about $50.00. Much better deal and i get layed on the first date. Guys look at the conversion rate. 100P is about $2.00 U.S., 10P is a quarter. Just leave it for them
Not trying to flame anyone but just do as you want as far a tiping. It makes me feel better and i get superior service with a smile, niceness, and being pleasant. I feel better inside when I see them smile and are happy. So I tip when I feel it is appropiate and/ or don't want the coins.
Let talk about the pussy and whats exciting in Angles.. A much more interesting topic.

Tipping
I think the different thoughts on tipping are related to local as opposed to tourist practices. I go to Fields about twice a week, and have done so for several years now. I tip no differently then I would in any Philippines establishment. I leave the coins, and if there is no change, then there is no tip. Most regulars to Fields tip the same way. Tourists act differently, and will tip like they do in their home countries, which will sometimes cause waitresses to exect tips from other tourists, but never locals. So, do as the locals and don't tip.
Just a couple of exceptions to the above. If I've stayed a while and had a couple of drinks, I will usually leave 20 pesos. If I happen to like the waitress for whatever reason, I will give her a separate tip in her hand, sometimes 100 pesos if she helped me find a girl. And of course, I always tip the mamasan if I barfine a girl, usually 50 or 100 pesos, depending.
But the most important thing is do what is most comfortable for you. If leaving a 500p tip is your thing, then by all means do it. I've never sensed that the waitresses are expecting a tip, and am surprised that others have. Maybe it is because I am so well known and considered a local, while tourists are hit up for tips. And I guess that if a waitress has figured out that making a comment or some face to a tourist will get a tip, then she will do it, in the same way that a begger will hastle tourists for tips, but will ignore me because I am recognized.

you are absolutely right! I could not agree more! But let's be honest, a bargirl needs not have any feelings for a customer as long as her service is fine. And if she pretends some emotions, the better it is for us, isn't it!? :)
Cheers!

I always tip, being from NYC it's what we do.
Tipping is an art. The right tip, to the right person, at the right time opens doors, or shows respect, or many other things that make service better, or gets you what you want or out of what you don't.
In the phills, 'old-school' tipping works real well:
-tip the person, not the place. Tip on the down low. No one sees it. Just a quick handshake with a thrice folded bill.
I can fold a bill in my pocket. Have it out thumb and palm for the pass.
Never had a philipino miss it. They like and know the game.
Wanna float a 'kite" to some fine waitress on the down lo?
Jot your cell# on a 50p note and pass it.
Always works for a call back.
Why bother?, you might ask. Because it works in so many ways. People remember you and accord considerations.
Take the test, start passing 20p notes freely around and see what happens.

Hesekiels
The irony is, for some reason, filipinas still get very jealous when they think another woman is treading on her guy, regardless of his age.
