If I could, would get rid of each and every bar beer and go-go throughout Pattaya. I do Pattaya one to three times a year now for over a decade. Have not sat at a bar beer (unless w / a farang friend) in perhaps over five years. Might. Might do one or two LDs per year, but only cause am not a strict Church member. Can't even remember my last Pattaya Bar Fine. Could be over five years ago.

Here's the point.

Want to drink. Do that anywhere.

Want to meet women. Do Pattaya.

Sorry, but I have been buying lady drinks and paying bar fines since 1978 in Pattaya. Why, because the girl gets half or a portion of the money. Also, the girls that bring in more drinks and barfines get more respect from the Mamasan.

I personally don't want to hear their thoughts on global warming or the environment; I can hear that crap here in California. Connect four and that dumb dice game is fine with me. Personally I prefer to pick up FLs and part timers at clubs like Walking Street. Not because of the $$$, but because of the better GFE they provide. But I do liek to pop into the GoGos and Beer Bars occasionally too.

Pattaya is a fucking dream come true. Great ladies, food, and wonderful friendly Thai people. Sure it's kind of a dump, but you can always grab a girl and head out to one of the gorgeous islands near by (Koh Chang, Koh Samui).

I've had some of the best times of my life in Pattaya (just last summer!) and I can't wait to get back.

It's very sad, to go half way around the world, to find second rate hookers on the street that are too ugly, to tired or precluded from working night clubs and bars due to their health conditions. Hookers that the Thais themselves would never touch. Thai bars and clubs are always full (of Thais) spending US$10 for their beers and tipping dancers US$20They get the best now leaving the left overs (normally with a couple of kids in tow). They make foreign bars look cheap, they frown upon the west and see them as Cheap Charlie's sat outside 7/11 drinking beer and eating noodles. I guess the west has a new place and several postings here only make this worse.

Thais are tipping more than westerners. Westerners are going the same way as the dinosaurs.

Thailand's population is a young, and there is very little significant public economic development investment outside of greater Bangkok (except for possibly Chonburi & Chiang Mai). Hence, there will be a constant stream of young, tight bodied cuties from Isaan, and other rural regions, migrating to Pattaya for a long time to come. The economic pull is just too strong.

Ironically, these girls are treated as heroes when there return to their villages with bags of presents and money for Mama & the kids, and booze and cigarettes for all the uncles and brothers. But, after the hugs wear off, Mama starts waking them up early for chores and they have to make their own som tam, so after a few days, it's back on the mini-van for Pattaya, Soi Cowboy, or Nana. Sleep, eat, go to the salon, drink, fuck, repeat cycle.
