Flaming and Cut & Paste and my $0. 02
I have noticed that someone has been accused of cutting and pasting a story. Not long ago, I have been accused also for doing it.
#1 There are some want to be moderators here and jump everything and everyone. Take a chill pill and relax. Let people feel comfortable and post messages without getting worried by getting jumped on.
#2 I like to thank everyone who shared their experiences and made my trips pleasurable and safe.
#3 Enjoy and let someone else enjoy too.
PS: Yes I did cut and paste into this board but from my own notes. First I wrote my notes on simplenote (I hope you know the service) and pasted them from there to here upon my return to USA. So, before you accuse someone, think twice.
My $0. 02
30 day tourist visa. More if Brazilian or Israeli
Has been discussed for a long time and finally someone has seen the light and said it is a good idea (which it is). See the link. Still need show that we are leaving the country before we arrive ("welcome to the Philippines Sir and when are you leaving" LOL)

Who you calling " stupid"

The effect of having too many lawyers and too many laws.
So when the taxi or trike driver next asks for a P500 fare for a 3 minute ride and you call him stupid. Beware!
$5. 96 refund from Cebu Pacific
on my credit card. it showed up. i flew from butuan to cebu. online purchase of the ticket, and i purchased (for extra pesos) a seat in the first row (extra legroom). when i got my boarding pass and got on the plane, i was assigned to the second row. i pointed out the discrepancy to the f / a, and she said to take it up with the ground cp folks once we landed. i did. they huddled around a computer (5 of them) for half an hour trying to figure out what went wrong. told them i wanted a refund of p80 (difference between the p230 extended legroom seat and a regular p150 seat assignment). they took me to the ticketing office and explained. the kid (and i mean kid) there told me that the manila office would have to look into it. i spent over an hour in the cebu airport not because i wanted the p80, but because it was enjoyable watching how this simple thing threw a monkey wrench into their day, causing 6 employees to look into how this attrocity could possibly have happened (they were oddly incredibly concerned with getting to the bottom of how this happened. not with getting me my refund). the kid took my number and said he would be in touch.
he was never in touch. upon my return to the cebu airport a week later, i happened to walk by the ticket office and stopped in. a month later, i get a $5. 96 credit on my credit card from cp. the only thing slower than the cp refund process? their a319 final approach speeds in davao (ouch).

The Department of Tourism has just released a list of the top overnight tourist destinations in the Philippines. Might be useful for those planning trips to tourist destinations, in addition to mongering locations.
The list is:

2. Boracay Island – 702, 798.
3. Cebu City – 613, 279.
4. Lapu-Lapu City – 396, 289.
5. Puerto Princesa City – 359, 320.
6. Baguio City – 338, 992.
7. Albay (Legazpi City) – 290, 845.
