Hilton / Charleston / Admiralte
For the record I did RTFF but a lot is not clear in the forum.
Now lets examine your response in more detail.
1. Which high end hotels are girls friendly. I have a booking at Hilton, is this OK or should I move?
BP I have read plenty of stories of guys getting ripped off renting apartments by people like Aunsa and hotels that were Puta friendly but now not, I am not seeing any posts about the Hilton in this forum, in my travels many of the high-end hotels cater to us for example in Kiev the hotel I stay at has a strip club and security stop the girls when leaving and call your room to make sure you have not been ripped off.
2. How much should I be paying. Don't like over paying or want to cause problems for future visitors:
BP. Why is this a dumb question, I have read the forum and see guys paying up to 500 K for LT, would you prefer people over pay and mess-up the market or ask a simple question to make sure.
3. What are the best places to visit for action.
BP I did read the forum.
4. Staying for 5 days how much cash should I bring, can I use USD or do I need to change to local currency?
BP Your response shows how little you have traveled the world. In many developing countries the girls prefer more stable currencies (USD / EUR), for example if you ever visit Russia, you will learn that converting you USD into local currency is a terrible move. Visiting Brazil I have found the ATM's often don't work with international cards and as this forum pointed out they often have low limits on what you can withdraw.
6. Will I have a language problem. Just speak English.
BP As you might be aware English is very widely used language and in many countries English is spoken at a basic level by the girls, for example Mexico they speak Spanish yet a lot of girls speak limited English, Panama never had a problem with English, Russia guess what they speak Russian but many of the girls speak English.
BP Many thanks for taking the time to read my post, but how about providing more constructive advice to your fellow members who actually help pay and support this forum.
Ahhhh for the old days. When I 1st went to Cartagena over 15 years ago there were few apts to rent that were acceptable. I stayed at upscale but then I was paying 65-100 a night for really upscale rooms. Initially the Hilton was not possible for chicas but after some good tipping and several stays they accomadated me. I know that there are upscale hotels in the old city that are workable, but it will cost you and I am not talking 1 10,000 peso tip. I know people that stayed there, no wasn't worth it to know the name since I have apartments here. There arevlots of upscale apts now, look at airbnb, Cartagena has grown up. One of my rentals has just been renovated, the Pirate apt in Marinare. New a / see, tvs mattresses, closets and bathrooms redone, etc, furniture. I will never get back what I spent but I wanted it to be where I would want to stay. Still making some changes, great apt, soso bldg.
I know that if I stayed at the Hilton or Charleston today I would not getb the same treatment as 14 years ago. Caqrtagena and Colombia has grown up, but there are good options available now for rentals. The only guy I completely trust in Cartagena is Juan Ventura. In Medellin it is Barry at Poblado, smartest guy in business there, IMHO.
Enjoy the life.
Cheap hotel chica friendly near clock towed
Hi all,
I read lot of topics and have the same questions Uk4444 has.
Sorry but I can t find answers to my questions.
Coming Cartagena in February for the first times.
I want to stay near the centro, or get semani.
Can't find an apartment or an hotel for my need (chica friendly) at decent price.
I do not need a woman for every night but have a chance ' to decide it, yes!
Thel motel is out of discussion (I only take girls for all night or nothing) and Laguito and Bocagrande are too distant for me, I wish go here for playa only (with bus), not nightlife.
Speak Italian a decent English, french and Portuguese, just start to learn Spanish (easy language for me) so don't think have problem here.
However if I don't find nothing will try Edificio Conquistador, has good price, is chica friendly?
Is possible to find apartment near clock tower when I'll come here?
Thanks. And sorry to annoy someone.
There is a hotel called Hotel San Filipe on the other side of the park that is across v the street from the clock tower plaza (due northwest, look at Google map follow Calle 32 from the plaza along the park and the hotel is on the south east corner of Calle 32 and Carrera 9 ) , I once met a guy in Cartagena who is from Canada who said he spends the whole summer at this place cause it's clean and cheap and chica friendly I assume cause he said he took chicas there.
My trip to Cartagena first week of September 2015
Hello all,
I have found great help in this forum before my trip to Cartagena so here's a little bit of experience from my first visit in early September.
Hope people find this a bit.
Where I stayed:
Throughout my readings here I always heard about Juan Ventura and the apartments he provided for rental in Cartagena.
I was able to find a few of his listings through AirBNB most of them located by el Lagito.
The place I stayed at was girl friendly as long as they showed their ID.
The last few days however they started charging 20 k pesos per guest which It seems to be norm in most places around.
Girls:
Again, referring through the reading I did here most of the action was to be found el la Torre del Reloj (clock tower) and Dolce Vita from I remember.
My friends and I however found plenty of "working" girls through Tinder. Most of the girls were 8's and up so they were pretty good looking.
We had good success and met pretty cool girls through here.
Takes me to the next point, we did not get a chance to visit Dolce Vita due to the same reason. It was just so easy to talk to them through Tinder and / or whatsapp and make them go to your apartment.
Prices ranged from 150 k-200 k / HR.
Torre del Reloj, we went there a few times.
Friday and Saturday were obviously packed, plenty of choices as fas as that goes.
Went there on a Sunday and it was pretty empty and not the same quality and quantity compared to Saturday and Sunday.
We only got girls from here once the week I was there and price was around 150 k / HR. Pretty good looking girls as well. I am pretty sure there were cheaper but obviously the looks go down in my opinion.
We also tried Tu Candela once it seemed to be filled with working girls as well.
Nice place, didn't stay there long though.
Hope this little bit of info helps people in here and any questions I'll try to answer them.

Taxis: Google Street Maps
PM me and I will explain you more.
BUS.
Forget the bus. Pointless. A taxi from Bocagrande to Laguito is 6 k COP (1. 75 EUR) and takes 5 minutes. Lots of taxies at any time and anywhere. Silly to spend 30 minutes or more to make the transfer just to save 1. 50 EUR (yet a lot in % terms).
To demonstrate that Back Page is right about the taxis being everywhere anyone can go to Google Street View Maps in Caragena and see for themselves. I just got on Google Street Maps in El Laguito and "drove" from the Hilton to where the road splits right before you get to the plaza where LDV is (on Google Maps its called " Caf Disco Bar la Dolce Vita" ; this like a two to three block stretch. There were 12 taxis. But the larger point is that Google has Street View Maps for all of Cartagena. Its a GREAT resource to familiarize yourself if you have not been there!
